FOAMSTARS Season One “Starry Pop” Revealed
LOS ANGELES (Jan. 31, 2024) – Today, SQUARE ENIX® announced more details about the seasonal content for FOAMSTARS™, their upcoming online 4v4 foam party shooter. The first season, titled “Starry Pop,” was showcased during the Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play broadcast. The reveal included information about limited-time seasonal events, exclusive season pass content, and rewards for the players.
FOAMSTARS 2024 Season Roadmap
Additionally, the FOAMSTARS 2024 Season Roadmap was shared on the PlayStation Blog, offering a sneak peek into the upcoming seasons. Players can look forward to new characters, maps, and modes being added to the game throughout the year.
Season One Highlights
- Ranked Party: Players can compete in two limited-time seasonal events, Ranked Party Lonestar and Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe. There are seven ranks to progress through, with each rank granting access to Rank-Up Trials.
- Extreme Party: Challenge other players in two special themed modes; All Mel T Party, where every player plays as Mel T, and Invisible Party, where everyone is invisible. The first team to score ten chills on opponent players wins.
- Happy FriYAY Party: A weekend-only event where players can try out the next season’s FOAMSTAR, Coiff Guy. This event is non-competitive, with no winners or losers.
Season Pass and Content Roadmap
Players can expect a new season approximately every five weeks, with each season bringing new characters, maps, events, and cosmetics. By earning experience points (XP) through gameplay, players can progress through the ranks and unlock rewards. All players will have access to the new modes and maps, while unlocking new characters will require progressing through ranks and completing challenges. A Premium Season Pass is available for $5.99, providing immediate access to new Season Pass characters and additional season-specific cosmetics.
Launch Details
FOAMSTARS will launch globally on February 6, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation®5 (PS5®) and PlayStation®4 (PS4®) as part of the February PlayStation® Plus monthly game line-up. Subscribers can redeem, download, and play the game at no extra cost until March 4, 2024. After that, FOAMSTARS will be available for $29.99 via the PlayStation® Store and will require a PlayStation Plus subscription.
