Organization XIII is a group of 13 Nobodies who insist that their sole objection is reclaim their lost hearts and become whole again. Their leader Xemnas seeks to accomplish this by obtaining Kingdom Hearts, the source of all hearts. Organization members are given new names upon joining. The letters of their names are rearranged with the letter “X” to form a new one. Their base of operations is The World That Never World. Members of Organization XIII all have lesser nobodies that they command, unique titles, and weapons that they wield into battle.
Xemnas
Xemnas is ranked #1 in Organization XIII. Xemnas is also known as “The Superior of the In-Between”. He is the leader of Organization XIII and commands the Sorcerer Nobodies. As the main antagonist in Kingdom Hearts 2 and mastermind of the organization, he is incredibly power and hides a secret agenda unknown to the rest of the organization. He is normally the one to recruit members into Organization XIII. Xemnas also wields Ethereal Blades into battle, which are sword-like beams of light and can manipulate nothingness. He claims that he wants Kingdom Hearts in order to regain his lost heart. Xemnas’s true name is Ansem.
Xigbar
Xigbar is ranked #2 in Organization XIII. Xigbar is also known as the “Freeshooter”. He also commands the Sniper Nobodies. Although he is ranked #2 in the Organization, he isn’t necessarily second in command to Xemnas. Xigbar has a very narcissistic and demeaning personality. He wears an eye-patch for an unknown reason. In combat, Xigbar wields Sharpshooter, which are two rayguns that combine together to form a sniper rifle. Xigbar’s ability is to manipulate space such teleporting and levitating. Xigbar has a hidden agenda aside from Xemnas’s plans. Xigbar’s true name is Braig.
Xaldin
Xaldin is ranked #3 in Organization XIII. Xaldin is also known as the “Whirlwind Lancer”. He also commands the lance wielding Dragoon Nobodies. Xaldin is manipulative and loves to exploit enemies weaknesses. He is sarcastic and revels in peoples’ despair and hopelessness. In combat, Xaldin wields Lindworm, which are six long purple lances. Xaldin is also capable of manipulating wind, which allows him to float in the air and manipulate his six lances. Xaldin also claims that the Organization XIII’s true goal is to become complete once again. Xaldin’s true name is Dilan.
Vexen
Vexen is ranked #4 in Organization XIII. Vexen is also known as the “Chilly Academic”. The nobodies that he commands are unknown. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Vexen is deceased due to his defeat by Axel in Chain of Memories. Vexen was once director of the Replica program which created artificial replicas of individuals such as when he created Replica Riku. In combat, Vexen wields Frozen Pride, which is a large shield. Vexen can also manipulate ice. Vexen is also one of the founding members of Organization XIII alongside Xemnas, Xigbar, and Xaldin. Vexen’s true name is Even.
Lexaeus
Lexaeus is ranked #5 in Organization XIII. Lexaeus is also known as the “Silent Hero”. The nobodies that he commands are unknown. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Lexaeus is deceased because he was defeated by Riku / Ansem in Chain of Memories. Much like his title implies, Lexaeus only speaks when he finds it necessarily thus not much is known about him, but he is shown to be intelligent. In combat, he wields Skysplitter, which is a sword-axe hybrid. He is also capable of manipulating earth and has super-human strength. Lexaeus’s true name is Aeleus.
Zexion
Zexion is ranked #6 in Organization XIII. Zexion is also known as the “Cloaked Schemer”. The nobodies that he commands are unknown. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Zexion is deceased because Replica Riku was convinced by Axel to eliminate Zexion and steal his power for his own. In combat, Zexion wields the Book of Retribution, which is a lexicon, similar to a dictionary. Zexion is also able to create illusions which allows him to disguise himself and mimic objects and others. He was also the last of the founding members of Organization XIII alongside Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Vexen, and Lexaeus. Zexion’s true name is Ienzo.
Saïx
Saïx is ranked #7 in Organization XIII. Saïx is also known as the “Luna Diviner”. He also commands the Berserker Nobodies. In combat, Saïx wields the Lunatic, which is a claymore similar to what his Berserker Nobodies wield. Although ranked #7, he is loyal to Xemnas and is his second-in-command. Typically, all the important tasks are designated to him. He has a strong connection to Axel. He does not possess an ability but under moonlight, he does enter berserker mode where his attacks become more vicious and random. Saïx’s true name is Isa.
Axel
Axel is ranked #8 in Organization XIII. Axel is also known as the “Flurry of Dancing Flames”. He also commands the Assassin Nobodies. In combat, Axel wields the Eternal Flames which are chakrams. He can also manipulate fire. His most noteworthy line is “Got it memorized”. Axel is friends with both Roxas and Saïx. He goes through great lengths to return Roxas back to the Organization. He was also the Assassin assign to rid the Organization of the traitors in Castle Oblivion, being the cause of some of their demises. Axel’s true name is Lea.
Demyx
Demyx is ranked #9 in Organization XIII. Demyx is also known as the “Melodious Nocturne”. He also commands the Dancer Nobodies. In combat, Demyx wields Arpeggio, which is his sitar and he has the ability to manipulate water, often creating water clones of himself. Demyx has a lazy personality and tries everything to prevent himself from working. Usually, he often plays his sitar rather than doing anything at all. According to him, he is not much of a fighter. Demyx is also one of the Organization XIII members whose true name is unknown.
Luxord
Luxord is ranked #10 in Organization XIII. Luxord is also known as the “Gambler of Fate”. He also commands the Gambler Nobodies. Luxord speaks quite often in metaphors and rhetorical questions which are all related to gambling and other games. In combat, Luxord wields Fair Game which is a deck of cards. He possess the ability to manipulate time as well. He is capable of transforming his opponents into cards or dice and can force them to play timed games. Luxord is also one of the Organization XIII members whose true name is unknown. His background is also clouded in mystery.
Marluxia
Marluxia is ranked #11 in Organization XIII. Marluxia is also known as the Graceful Assassin”. The nobodies that he commands are unknown. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Marluxia is deceased due to his defeat by Sora. In Chain of Memories, he was the lord of Castle of Oblivion and main antagonist. He sought to use Sora to betray Organization XIII. In combat, Marluxia wields Dahlia, a giant pink scythe. He also has the ability to manipulate flowers or flower petals using their razor sharp edges to his advantage. Marluxia is also one of the Organization XIII members whose true name is unknown. His background is also clouded in mystery.
Larxene
Larxene is ranked #12 in Organization XIII. Larxene is also known as the “Savage Nymph”. She is also the only female member in Organization XIII. The nobodies that she commands are unknown. Larxene is rude, and impatient as well as fierce. In combat, Larxene wields Foudre, the french word for lightning. Foudre is also knives. Larxene also has the ability to manipulate lightning or electricity. In Kingdom Hearts 2, she is deceased. She conspired with Marluxia to overthrow the Organization in Chain of Memories. Larxene is also one of the Organization XIII members whose true name is unknown. His background is also clouded in mystery.
Roxas
Roxas is ranked #13 in Organization XIII. Roxas is also known as the “Key of Destiny”. He is the last to be recruited in Organization XIII. Roxas also commands the Samurai Nobodies. In combat, he wields two keyblades, the Oathkeeper and Oblivion, representing both Kairi and Riku respectively. He was previously friends with Axel prior to leaving Organization XIII. He made his way to Twilight Town, where he briefly lost his memories and became friends with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Roxas’s true name is Sora. Therefore, he is strongly connected to our protagonist.
