What was the last movie you watched?

The Soloist: I liked it. Good performances from Robert Downey Jr and especially Jamie Foxx, and it was interesting. But like a lot of the movies I've seemed to watch recently, there's not much incentive for me to watch it again.

 

Becoming Jane: My crush on James McAvoy continues on; I've yet to see him in a flick and not like his performance. Anne Hathaway was good here too. The movie kind of felt a little long, though. And I kind of forgot who some of the lesser characters were during it, so one scene at the end was sort of weird. Anyhow, I thought this was good, but not fantastic.

 

Took my nephew to a double feature at the drive-in

Smurfs: This movie smurfing sucked (there's an example of the amazing dialogue for ya). It was really just stupid. I may have cracked a smile once or twice, but it is definitely not one of those kids movies like The Incredibles or Megamind, or so on that are made for adults to enjoy, too. My four year old nephew laughed hysterically the whole time, though. He loved it.

Zookeeper: Not as bad as Smurfs, but still pretty bad. Kevin James is really funny in King of Queens. Not so here. I laughed once or twice, but again, it wasn't really all that entertaining. The voice acting was pretty terrible for the animals, many of the humans were unlikeable, and the whole idea was just rather stupid.

 

Stripes: Bill Murray is great. The first half of the movie was funnier than the second half, but overall it was okay. Dragged on a bit at the end, but I didn't feel like it was a waste of time.

It's Kind of a Funny Story: I thought Zach Galifianakis was really funny here, but he also has a way of also being really emotional and sort of huggable, too, which I think makes him a good actor. The rest of the cast was okay but not spectacular. Anyhow, it was a good movie and I'd watch it again.
