Warlords of the Borders: War of the North

Robin and Mike had been fighting with the King and his right hand man, Robin was back from the battle shooting at all the soldiers. Mike was not good with the bow and had only leaned the blade so he was up front, Robin might hate Man and Elves, it was only a certain part of the world of Man and Elf that he hated. So Robin had saved Mikes life many times over from people trying to shot him and people trying to cut him from behind. It sucked when he ran out of arrows, lucky for him it was the end so far. Robin ran over to Bartimaeus,"Bartimaeus, what am i to do now? I have ran out of arrows as well, so am i needed at the front or back." Robin asked him.

OCC: when i say up front i mean to Robin, he was way in the back shooting, so for him he was up in the front fighting with everybody else. Robin was being like a sniper. he wasn't in the camp, i mean he was but he was little far away.

 

Leonardo staggered back from the titanic force of one of the larger eastern soldiers."Blast . . ." he cursed and dodged left. He got into a low stance and flipped his blades upside down. The black one began to poom with black smoke and the white one gleam with white light. "Prepare yourself!" he announced charging at the soldier. The soldier raised his giant blade to attack him but he jumped up and flipped forward. Two blade-like beams emitted from his swords and cut into the man before him. He fell to the ground, lifeless and Leonardo sheathed his blades and called for a strategic retreat.

 

Leonardo looked at the fallen soldiers that lay sprawled upon the ground. It was custom in their culture to have a formal burial for their dead and fallen in battle. He looked at them with a sad contortion of the face and began to slowly weep out of sight from his men and his friend. They shall return to the bountiful earth that had given them life. May the great and wise Sabim take them back into his land of life and earth so that they may be purified of their sins upon this land and live anew."

After Leonardo had finished his thoughtful prayer, he got into the boat that had Bartimaeus in it and order the men to begin paddling. Within only three minutes, they had already gotten out of range and into a dense and thick fog from which no archer could fire into them. He sighed and slumped forward and began to fondle his lionheart necklace, the symbol of regality in his homeland.

 

Leonardo roughly wiped the lingering tear from his eye, as if it had betrayed him and looked at his friend with kind eyes. His pain was truly deep, but he understood the sincerity of the words spoken by his friend. "Yes, they died for their king . . . but they also died with valor."

He looked at the murky Grey water of the large lake and noticed a faint silhouette elegantly move. A few moments later he heard a angelic voice reverberate from the waters.

 

As the ship got closer, the fog got denser. Leonardo could only see Bartimaeus in front of him. Within a few moments all he could hear was the slashing of throats, the spurting of blood and the cries of his men being drowned out by the moans of the ghosts. He was about to draw his blade when he was pulled into the water.

 

Robin didn't know what was happening, one minute he was talking to Mike about something, then it was too foggy to see him barley. He touched out, he could feel him."Mike, what's happening?" He asked him, "I dont know, there were some ships coming but now i can't even see you!" Mike said. "Draw you sword becasue we do not know what is happening." He said and left him. He was making his way to the front when he heard it, the sound of a sword coming out, but not like King Leos people, but a enemy. He drew his small hammer out and extended it just a bit. Next thing he knows a blade comes down on him, he blocks it and slams his hammer into somebody's face. "Great, were being attacked again." he said to himself. He heard the sound of water slapping, he ran to the front, and with his elf eyes he was born with, he saw a glimpse of King Leo being pulled overboard. "Know i have to save the king, or else my plans will never work." He said, he ran to the edge.

 

The water next to the ship bubbled slightly. Things went silent except for the constant noise of slaughter. Immediately, a small pillar of light burst out under the ship and the wailing of the ghosts echoed wildly. An armored hand slammed over the side of the boat and a wet and cold Leonardo heaved and rolled into the boat.

 

Leonardo rocked inside the boat trying his very best to keep his nerve above his fear of the sudden attack. As he turned around, a bloody and rapture hand reached over the boat and pulled itself up. His chest thumped hard from the fierce beating of his heart as the disfigure figure open a jawless mouth and screeched an ear-piercing howl.

 

Robin could see the king was on some boat, there was something there he took out his bow and strung a arrow on it, there was a small Lateran, so he lit it on fire, a bruing arrow, and he fried. He couldn't see what happened, but he heard some noise, it was blood chilling. He saw some smoke so he must of hit something. He turned, and pulled out his hammer, he wasn't going down with this ship.

 

In his fearful instinct, Leonardo swung out his katana at the carnage-riddled ghost, striking it down. He ended up pacing backwards, bumping into Robin and pressing against his back back-to-back. His body was shaking, he had never seen such horrors in his life before. But as he looked down at his necklace, his courage had brimmed in his heart. He got into his stance, ready to fight with renewed valor. "I SHALL NOT HAVE YOU HARM ANY OF US!!!"

 

Robin was ready to die, he had his back to the king, and his fear was gone, he felt brave, this must be what everybody in King Leos town felt. He was knocking back and fourth with his hammer, but he was using his human power, he didn't know why, but he felt it would make him stronger. He was doing good, he saw the King and he was also killing them, using his power over dakr and light, but it was still hard to see, even with elf eyes, it was hard. He went back to back with King Leo, he told him"King Leo, use your power over Light and make this boat shine, then we could see over the mist, it would be easier to fight these things." he told him.

 

Leonardo slashed upwards with his white katana and nodded to his companion from over his shoulder. He pointed both of his blades down and a small glyph appeared below the boat and swayed on top of its grey waters. The light began to slowly shine from the glyph and wisps of light rays surged from the glyph and parted the mist around the boat, making the advancing ghosts more visible.

 

Leonardo took his friend's advise and spun his katanas in wild but controlled motions and cut into the old and decaying flesh of the being, remembering to decapitate them and knock them overboard to only proceed to casting Light and Dark spells on them to seal the deal. After dealing with four ghosts he looked around saw that his remanding soldiers were following his example and dealing the ghosts the same way. After twenty more minutes of battling, all was quiet.
