Warlords of the Borders: War of the North

"Yes, and they did so with such ferocity. I watched my people look at me in fear. It was a feeling of great sorrow for me. We've pride ourselves on our valor in battle, but the desperation in their eyes made me feel as if I was not strong enough. My father would have taken the situation with a lot more tact than I..." his words trailed off and he looked down at the swaying grass.

 

He blushed slightly and looked at his friend, "Oh no, I am in fact married. I am married to this kingdom and to all its people. Maybe later on in my life I shall search for a bride. But not now. The winds of love shall not whisk me away until peace and unity has spread throughout the entire world."

 

As the two were talking, a big brown-feathered eagle came flying from the setting sun. As it came closer, it slowly landed on the ridge of the training area and King Reeron suddenly jumped off it. He had been hiding in it's secrecy-holding feathers.
"Good night, demon slayers." he pronounced with a slight elven accent.

 

Leonardo was surprised to see a high elf come into his kingdom. Normally they were too proud to be seen with other races they considered lower than them. He bowed very slightly out of respect for a fellow king. "Good morrow, King Reeron, a peculiar moment to see you here." He looked into his eyes and spoke again, "What brings you here?"

 

"Well.. peculiar times call for peculiar measures." Reeron continued. "I saw a vision in which the north was burning.. I came to prevent it. Plus, i got sent a letter from Bartimeus concerning the troll barraging."
He said and put his gloves off while walking further at the two.

 

Leonardo was surprised at the occurances rising around him. He looked towards the high elf and spoke to him in a slightly raised and stern voice. "What is going on, why are there sudden attacks by trolls and what not?! My people and I were attacked by those of the desert, why is that?!" He slowly had a piece of his blade unsheathed and he spoke again, "Tell me everything you know King Reeron. I must know now."

 

A Grebe started to fly over King Reeron, with a letter in it's claws. As it dropped on top of King Reeron, it automatically opened up with writings on it:

"FATHER!!! COME BACK THIS INSTANT!!! I'M VERY WORRY ABOUT YOU!!! HOW DARE THAT YOU WENT OFF AND DISAPPEARED! Come back so I can offer you some of my newest specialty: CHAI TEA! I'm doing my best keeping the shield up and I know that you don't want me to be involve in the war and not to end up like my mother but you're the only one I have. PLEASE COME BACK!

Reeron sighed with a slightly suprised tone. "All will become clear in the near future. The spirits will show us before the impact." he started to look up to the sun. "My family needs me now. If i neglect them, the trust will be missed later on." Reeron spoke in a riddle again as he mostly did.
As he flew back to the castle on the eagle's back again, he thought to himself: "That girl has a lot to learn.. At least she's adventurous."

 

Robin was walking on the mountain side, he had just left a battle with two trolls, something that most humans could not live from, but he was not human, he was just half, his elf side was helping him even though it cursed him also. He was banished from his fathers town and his mothers home, his father and mother made a house in the forest, there he grew up away from the world. Then he stumbled into town, he was beat, and nearly killed, his father rushed in for him and was killed protecting him. His mother was so stunned that she took him to her home and begged her father to help. He did not, instead the nearly killed him too. He mother had also died protecting him. His only fiend and graudian was a elf that taught him mostly everything there was to defense. He could use almost any weapon but loved the hammer and hammer blade. He died of old age. So now in this war he had made a name, alis's but a name. Now he was going to get his revenge on the men and elfs.

 

Leonardo went back into the castle walls and began to pace in the throne room at his seat. He placed his hand at his chin, searching his mind for answers. Why after all these years of peace have we been suddenly attacked? We have made no offenses or mobilized an army in years even in our defence. So the true question is: who is truly behind this attack and why start with us?

 

Robin was walking till he found his place he was going. The king Leonardo, he did not like the men of the North but he needed to use them. When he got there it looked as though there was a battle, a big one too. There was death in the air, out of no where three guards came from behind him. There swords up and ready."Who are you wander? No towns men are to up this far to the castle." Said one of them, Robin looked back and said" I am looking for your king." Robin replied. The knights where in raged, "WHAT, AFTER WE ARE ATTACK, THEY SEND SOMEONE ELSE? ATTACK." The lead knight said. Robin took his hammer from his belt and extended it(his regular hammer handle can extend.) and knocked one knight in the chest. The next one in the head and last in his back. They sat behind him in pain and yelling out, more people came and saw what had happened, they all looked at Robin and attack. He was hitting many of the knights jumping and doging and kicking, it seemed like he was winning when out of nowhere he is grabbed by King Leanardo himself.

 

He held up his blade to the strange newcomer with the hammer. The blade slightly cut his throat, drawing a drop of blood. He looked at him with eyes of contempt and hatred . . . "Why have you come here and why are you attacking my people? Were you sent by Jagglehag? If you were, prepare yourself to be embraced by the hands of death!"

 

Robin was almost peeing his pants. He just looked into the kings eyes and spoke"Please my lord, i was not trying to hurt anybody, i was merly trying to speak with you. Three of you graceful knights saw me and didn't want to hear my plea. They attacked me first and I defended. I am sorry that i have hurt you people but i only wish to speak with you. Nobody has sent me too you i came on my own." Robin explained, he saw the king trying to think of what he had said, he only hoped it wasn't off with his head.

 

The understanding King let go of the young man and sheathed his blade. He looked over at his knights to see if they were harmed fatally, they were not. They weren't even scratched. He smiled acknowledging this but made a not to himself that he needed to instruct the training himself next time. "What is it?" he said with a kind smile.

 

"Well thank you for understanding. I want to offer my assitance to you. I am skilled in the long bow and anyother weapon at that. I am a good speaker and can become a better shadow than mine own. Plus i can go anywhere you wish and not be know, so i can take out anybody you want. I am doing this because i can't stand the other kingdoms, i favor your the most." Robin finished, he waited for him answer.

 

Leonardo looked at the young lad and nodded, thinking about it. "Well if you truly want to be an ally to me and my people. You must first prove yourself. I want you to duel me. If you can succeed in cutting a single hair before it touches the ground as we duel, you shall be an ally to me." He smiled and plucked a very thin hair from his pet Lion and using his powers over the light and dark, moved it up into the darkening sky. He drew his black katana and began to charge.

Don't have him get the hair, I want to make something interesting for your character.

 

Robin moved out the way, he knew that it wasn't the king he must fight, but he must cut the hair. He took out his bow and aimed in the air, he couldn't see it, he looked back and and Leo was at him, Robin moved and shot his arrow. It bounced out the kings shield. He took out another on and fired again but missed. He put his bow up and took out his hammer blade, he was going to need it. He charged at him and tried to hit him but was cut on his shoulder. He tried to hit the King but it seemed like his elf speed was nothing to him, he was only human, but he seemed to be as fast as a lion. Thats when the king defeated him.
