"Well that would make sense. I speak and write english but I also understand Japanese. I can read the various writings to but they are to complicated for me to write. You need an artistic flair that I certainly don't possess." I was wondering when these guys would figure out that part. But still why are we able to understand each other? Is it coincidence that we can all speak the same language? Kane looked around himself at all the other people. No that can't be it. That wouldn't explain all these other people that we can understand. Hey wait a second. Kane had suddenly heard something that didn't strike him as right but it was to faint for him to hear. He closed his eyes and channeled his aura into his ears to make them more sensitive. Instantly all the sounds around him jumped up in volume but he ignored the ones that were close by. Instead he focused on the voices at the far side of the room.

"Shinso surey youtake?" One guard asked the other.

"Yaa. Mino shira shu to ridame phew ruda."

I can't make out what they are saying. Almost as if they are out of range of some sort of... Wait! Kane looked over at Mokona and let the sounds return to normal. "Hey Mokona. Are you translating these people for us?"

"Of couse silly. How else would you be able to travel around looking for treasures and things? This is just one of Mokonas special talents."

"Different language?" Gerik asked as he looked up from his food. "I suppose we all have different ones. I wouldn't have figured otherwise, since I've never encountered anybody who speaks a different language than myself." Gerik opened up the pouch of sand from his belt. He levitated the sand out and made it into a shape. "This is one of the letters for my language. I always considered it really easy to learn, but maybe it isn't. I'd have to try to teach somebody to find out." Gerik put the sand back into the pouch, closed it up, and began eating again. "This food is awesome. But as much as I'd love to, can't overstuff myself. Gotta fight a dragon tomorrow."

Dune looked at all three of them and said while pointing to the respective person "So I speak Konli, Mokona speaks Kanji, Kane speaks english, and Gerik speaks that language. Thats a really cool power to have Mokona."Pets Mokonas head as he continues eating.

Later that day, when everyone was starting to finish eating, everyone in the group where waiting for the General to tell them where they will stay for the night. Dune sits back with a content look on his face. "Oh man! I am so full!" Laughs a little.

    "Mokona is happy!"

"Nice keeping that in Mokona." Starts Laughing even harder.

"I am sorry but we don't have very good accommodations for you tonight. We weren't expecting legendary heros here," Leon said.

"No fear. I can sleep under the stars if you like. Just get me a blanket or something as it might get a tad chilly."

"Well if you really want to. There is always the barracks though. Also the generals quarters as well. I tend to sleep with the men anyways, keeps morale up."

    "And your partner in crime?"

"He tends to sleep on a roof believe it or not. I guess the generals quarters isn't all that big a deal for us here."

Weird guys. Well Rai Den and I will sleep outside. Guess these two can have the beds. I need to get a feel for the winds here anyways so I might as well get started. "You guys can have the beds. I'm fairly dead set on sleeping outside." Without anything more to say, Kane began walking towards a likely spot that was fairly clear while the others were led to the generals quarters. Kane drew his sword out and sat down with the blade at his side. Before to long he was sound asleep though his senses were still on red alert for any suspicious activity.

"Works for me." Gerik said. "Haven't had a bed in a while anyways. It'll be nice to sleep on something more comfortable than dirt and sand."

Once inside, Gerik took off his cloak, swords, dagger, and any other objects that were on his belt. He closed his eyes while standing up. Sand began to pour out from his clothes. Once it stopped pouring, it began to take shape into the chainmail he was wearing. "Gotta love that metallic sand I have. Damn strong and easy for me to control." Gerik then lied down on one of the beds. "Problem with that sand is that it takes a little more concentration to manipulate. If only I was more powerful, then I could turn my sand into the real object."

    >Basically what he means is that if he was stronger, he could turn his sand into something like an actual, edible, apple.<

"I actually feel paranoid when I sleep on the ground floor. Produced from many years living in a tree. I'll just sleep On the roof of the Barracks." Takes a blanket and heads on up. Mokona decides to stay with Gerik instead.

Later that night, Dune looks up at the sky with the blanket wrapped around him and sees the many stars in the sky. Looks a lot like my own sky. It was always more fun sleeping on the highest branch at night. He looks around at the open plain from a higher point. He gets a sudden calming feeling to come over him. I feel a lot more comforted now. Not at all like I should because of the battle to take place tomorrow. Dune lowers his head, and covers more of his body with the blanket. He continues to think for most of the night. Some times even humming a tune for what ever reason.

    >I was going to have him sleep in the rafters, but I didn't know if this type of barrack had it.<

    >Its fairly simple. Ok I am skipping ahead to morning.<

The sun was just peaking over the horizon when Kane's eyes snapped open. He didn't know what had awoken him, but he did know that he felt threatened. Eventually he calmed himself and stood up stretching. "What a nap."

He began walking towards the barracks to go see if everyone else was awake. It wouldn't surprise him if they were still asleep as his comrades had always poked fun at his early rising habits. He didn't mind that though.

"No. Go back to sleep. You haven't been able to sleep like this for a while." Gerik thought to himself as he regained consciousness. Even though he kept his eyes shut, he knew he was awake. Instead of just sitting up, Gerik's body became sand and it moved around until Gerik was sitting up. He looked around. Nobody else was around. "That's a new low. Teleporting yourself sitting up." Gerik stood up, yawned and cracked his neck, and reached for his stuff. The chainmail became sand and flowed into his clothes, regaining their chainmail shape on him. Gerik put on the rest of his stuff and stepped outside. The air was much cooler than the inside of the building.

Dune looked out on Kane walking up to the barrack, and Gerrik walking out. Dune was bundled up in the covers he had grabbed the night before. He never truly went to sleep, just closed his eyes and thought the night away. Dune slowly stood up and stretched every limb, and popped his neck, back, and most of his fingers. Being done with loosening up, Dune grabs the blanket and swipes it off himself and lets it blow in the wind as he Jumps down to the ground with his cloak flowing appropriately. As he lands on the ground it forms around his body again. "You guys ready to go fight a dragon?"

Mokona jumps up at Dune and lands on his Shoulder. "Mokona is ready. Mokona gonna have fun"

"I am never gonna be ready to fight a real live fire breathing dragon." Kane sighs as he stops in front of Dune. "Truth be told my powers have their limits. They work off the energy inside of my body. If i over do it then I could end up to weak to stand, or worse. I could die altogether." Kane shrugs his shoulders around to loosen them up. "That said I also have another problem. Fire beats out Air so i won't be near as affective against his dragon breath. And my skills at water manipulation are less than mediocre. If only I could make a void but I'm more the wind type of guy. Anyways its up to you and Dune to take care of the actual killing of the thing. I'll do my best to keep it grounded so it can't get a height advantage." And if I have to be the one to kill it I'll have to use the razor ball technique i've been practicing. Still, I don't know if it can stand to a dragons scales. They've been said to be able to stand up to the sharpest steel. Guess I'll have to try.

    >The Razor ball is a technique similar to the rasengan from naruto except he doesn't have to form it in his hands, and it doesn't rely on energy but more on compressed wind shooting in a hundreds of directions at once. For now he hasn't mastered it so he can take some accidental damage from his own attack (cutting his arm up and stuff if it blows back full force). When he masters it he can throw it but for now he has to get in close to use the technique. Actually it could pierce through a tanks armor and out the other side but the force is incredibly unstable for right now so it's doubtful that Kane can use it's full force adequately.<

    >Rasengan or Rasenshuriken? You're making it sound more like the latter.<

"That's alright." Gerik said. "I'm certain we'll still come out on top. But first we need to get there. Which is where your wind magic will be helpful. Are you able to mask our scent so the dragon doesn't smell us out before we reach the mountain?" Gerik paused, looking at the dragon's lair off in the horizion. He turned and looked at Mokona. "You're a rather sadistic rabbit if you're gonna have fun fighting a dragon. Are you sure you won't stay here? It'll be a thousand times safer for you. I mean, can you actually fight? Or do anything that won't require us constantly saving you?"

Mokona gets really steamed and starts hoping up and down on Dunes shoulder "Mokona is not worthless, Mokona lets you talk to each other!" Mokona then leaps up into the air, and lands on Dunes head. He stares straight at Gerik and opens his Eyes big and wide. "Mokona will do this when we find it!"

Dune has a confused look on his face. "You mean the Dragon?"

"No, Mokona will do this when you find what you came here for."

"...And that would be what, exactly?"

    >Can you take over from here? I'm still not sure as to what exactly we are looking for. Thanks.

    >I won't spoil the surprise =D<

"Mokona won't tell. You'll know when you see it."

Kane sighed to himself inwardly. Little rodent is becoming a pain. Aside from transportation he really doesn't seem intent on helping us at all. "Alright we won't get anything out of the cream puff ball so let's get going. I suggest we try and find a wide open area to lure the dragon into. If we get backed into a corner it'll roast us and we can kiss our journey good bye." Kane looked down at the sword in his hands then decided to tell them. "Just so you all know my sword has one more form. The final form were the blade becomes pure white and my speed is increased to the point were I can create and maintain speed clones. I don't want to use it unless I have to because that is a form of last resort that requirs a tremendous amount of my power but if we need it I'll use it. If I do though stay out of the way because when I move it is easy to acciedentally hurt someone. It happened once in the past." And Zerieth almost murdered me for it. I don't think he's forgiven me yet either judging from the nasty look he gave me at work last month.

    >To recap on that I wrote a chap which combined Zerieth and Kane as a partner team. I will never do it again. Zerieths power requires him to stand still in his final form while the water in the air is harnessed for his use. Kane's on the other hand requires that he move constantly. So when Kane tried going around Zer he instead rammed into him and knocked him flat. They still won but Zerieth was really pissed prideful man that he is.<

"When did I ever say you are worthless?" Gerik spoke to Mokona.

---As they were heading towards the dragon---

"Last resort secret techniques. Always fun stuff." Gerik spoke about Kane's move. "I'm gonna go ahead and assume we all have one. Although who has the most damaging to themselves I wonder."

Gerik spoke to Kane. "So do you have any idea what we're looking for? Since Mokona won't tell us and Dune doesn't know."

    ---At the dragon's lair---

The dragon's eyes opened up, waking from its slumber. The light that shone into the cave caused the treasures the dragon amassed to sparkle, illuminating the cave.

    >ok didn't think about this. If someone does direct interation with another character that characters turn comes up first and then the cycle continues.<

"Not the faintest idea. I'm to busy thinking of ways that won't get me boiled. I mean I know someone who could make water and stuff from the atmosphere but aside from him I dunno who could possibly have that kind of power." And Zer still would have had a run for his money. "We are gonna have to rely on a lot of team work and blind luck if we are gonna walk away from this with all limbs attached."

    >So it's my turn right? K.

"Mokona is not worth less" Yelled Mokona as he became really steamed.

Pats Mokona on the head "Shh, we know you are worthwhile, but you need to keep your voice down. "Now, if we are wanting to keep from getting cornered, then why don't we draw him into the big empty space down there? I doubt he will be too bothered with others if we are keeping his attention." He puts his guns back into there holsters and pulls out his sword. "The best way to get him down would be to make him mad, then teleport in short distances to guide him to the bottom. If I where to lure him down, I could hit him with a poison spell to create a poison charm around his head, that emits toxins." I sure hope I can cast the charm though, that is a bit new to me...

"Sounds like as good a plan as any. I was always known for my speed so I can probably make him follow me if you guys don't mind me doing it. I've learned how to do something my colleagues call the warp step. It basically lets me move faster than the eye can see temporarily. If I do that it would be like dragging some beef from a starving dog." As unsaviory as it is I don't think we got the options. No clue how long gerik can use his abilities or what the limits are, and I haven't the faintest idea on Dune's limits either. I know mine and I know I can do this.

"Again, I never called Mokona worthless." Gerik thought to himself. "What the hell is wrong with him?"

"Okay, so we lead the dragon into a trap, Kain being the bait. Since my swords are made out of adamantium, I know they're sharp enough to pierce the dragon's scales. So Dune, if you can bring the dragon down to the ground, I'll finish it off." Gerik spoke. "I could teleport up to the top of the dragon, but I'd rather not risk missing. Or worse."

    ---------

The dragon moved to the entrance of the cave. The sun was shining high above in the sky.

"I have more than enough Electricity built up to do so." Looks down at the jagged rocks going down the mountain. "All I have to do is is serpentine the way down. from one to the other, staying safe, and keeping his attention very well." Looks back at both of them. "So I would guess it is time for our first tag team battle?"

Mokona jumps up and down. "First and probably not last."

    "Yea-...wait what?"

    "Nothing"

"Then I guess I will see you guys soon." With that Kane vanished.

Kane sat just above entrance of the dragons lair. He was having a lot of misgivings, after all he certainly wasn't the type to enjoy teasing a dragon, and was really hoping he didn't end up getting baked. Ah well no use stalling. Kane had already drawn his sword, and lightly jumped down from his perch. The dragon was right there. "Oh shi-" He back flipped out of the way as the dragon yawned and fried the spot he'd been standing on. Kane began warp stepping his way down the mountain, and the dragon was hot on his heals. "THIS WAS A VERY BAD IDEA!" Kane yelled as he narrowly dodged another stream of fire. "THIS WAS A REALLY STUPID IDEA TO!" He only hoped his energy could last him down the mountain. Those three idiots at the bottom better be ready.
