The New Organization

Kat couldn't bring herself to look at him. "Ok. I'm here to answer questions so what do you want to know?" she said in a toneless voice.

 

Kat glared, that was a question she didn't want to answer. She had been hoping he wouldn't ask it but it was obvious that he would have. "It's kind of a long story..."

 

Kat shrugged, "The less you know about it the better. But the general idea is that I am an assasin. My employer has it in for someone in your group but Hunter and Blake keep getting in the way. And your empath friend senced me comming from a mile away. I was about to walk away when I realized that I was up against Hunter but... thats when things started getting out of hand."

 

"Because I can't walk away. It's hard to explain but I simply can not walk away from this mission."

 

"Stop pretending to understand this. You don't know the half of it." Kat snapped. She sighed, and realized she sounded a little harsh "Sorry... It's just not that easy." she said a little more gently.

Jaxx looked at Page sympatheticly, she didn't try to argue with her. She had been in Page's position before and she knew that when people tried to make you feel better about yourself, it just makes it worse. "Does Voltiar know about Ja..." she shook her head, "...I mean Kat?"

 

Kat shook her head, "I appreciate your enthusiasum, Voltiar. But I really don't think there is any way out of this one." she sighed, "The only leway I could get is that I don't have to kill anyone that doesn't have to die. That means mostly all of your friends are safe."

 

Kat shook her head, "I don't run away from anything. And no person is forcing me to do this."

 

Kat was confused, "What are you talking about? It doesn't matter where I would go anyway. As soon as someone recognised my name, I would be pulled back to my job again..." she looked at the ground. 'If He's going to understand... I have to tell him the whole truth.' she thought to herself.

 

Kat was a little shocked at the word 'we' "Are you saying you would go with me?" she shook her head, "What about your friends?"
"Besides, I..." she hesitated for a second but forced herself to tell the truth, "I'm a member of an organization of assasins. It started out as an organization at least, but it kind of turned into something more like a cult a few years ago. We all had to take this vow and now we can not go against our word after we have agreed to do a mission." she had an unreadable expression as she looked back at Voltiar "Now do you get it? I can't leave because of a magical bond of some kind. It would literally kill me to not finish the mission I was assigned to."

 

Kat shook her head, "I've been trying to find a loophole for quite some time now but they all end with one outcome." she sighed "I haven't tried everything yet but it's starting to seem hopeless."
