The New Organization 2: Rematch

Jaxx was too suprised to react when Hunter suddenly changed his entire attitude even for that brief moment. She didn't do anything at all when he pushed her off and she hit the ground about a yard away hard. She pushed herself up on her arms and then stood up more slowly than she would have had the curcomstance been different. She looked at Hunter, the evil smile was back and his eyes were red again. Had she just halucinated the whole thing? what the hell was going on? Did he lie earlier when he said that he was really Hunter or had he lied just now to suprise her and Ruby. Her heart was practically screaming at her to believe that her Hunter was still kicking there but Jaxx herself had never gone this far when she was ever being manipulated by evil and Hunter had always been stronger than her. Her head kept looking for reasons to get around it, she didn't want to open her heart back up to him or to anyone. She hadn't done so to anyone for three years except to Ruby, Page, Voltiar, and Blake of course. But of course her heart beat her mind to her lips. "Hunter? What the... you really... huh?" tears formed in her eyes. "What happened to you? Please let me help you." she took hold of Ruby's wrist and pulled her back away from Hunter, her mind had beaten her heart to her hands. She trusted Hunter again with her words and heart and eyes but showed more mistrust with him than ever before with her body movements and mind.

 

Jaxx put her hand out with seconds to spare before her head would have hit the wall. She looked at Hunter "So you really aren't him though. But he still talked to me just now." she shook her head "And you wanna bet he can't hear me?" she said with a sudden cocky smile "I see it through your eyes every time I speak directly to him. He knows I would never betray him. He has to..."

Kat put a hand on Ruby's sholder and gently pulled her back "That's enough Kiddo. This is your mom's fight for now." she whispered.

Jaxx continued talking "You will fail in keeping control for much longer. Hunter is stronger than you might think, and he isn't foolish enough to be manipulated by space junk like you."

 

Kat sighed "If I were you I would stay out for now. You're mom is already mad enough at you." she pointed out.

Jaxx looked at Hunter, she felt a little weak and she wasn't sure if it had something to do with the effects of Caxz's crystal or not. "What... who are you really?" she asked him. She knew better than to try and attack him, mostly because she couldn't stand to hurt Hunter no matter what his current intentions were. "Why are you doing this? What could you possibly gain by tricking Hunter into destroying everything he loved and gave his life to protect?" an involuntary tear slid down her cheek.

 

Jaxx never really passed out. She was always concious and she could hear people talking around her but the pain paralyzed her. She couldn't talk or move. It was like fire and acid replacing her blood, filling every vein and especially her heart with so much searing agony that she couldn't even think.

Kat carried Jaxx back to Disney Castle, she didn't know what was going on with Hunter nor did she care. She couldn't let Ruby see her mother like this. Jaxx was getting worse by the second. Kat could literally hear Jaxx's heart get slower. (Super hearing as well as sight)

Jaxx veugly heard king Mickey ask what was going on. Kat spoke in urgent tones as she explained that the crystal that Caxz had placed in Jaxx's neck had activated somehow and that Jaxx was dying by poisen and that Voltiar was the only one who knew the cure and then Jaxx faided back into the black silence and pain. It was like falling into nothing, she knew she was dying. Death would have been a lot more easy than life. She could go find Hunter after she was dead. She wouldn't have to worry about her other lost loved ones like her family and dead friends because she would be with them. She wouldn't need her guilt anymore because if she died, then she would have finally paid for the mistakes she had made. She hardly saw any reason to go on living so she embrased the fact. She wasn't scared though she could hear her own heartbeat raise slightly at the thought. She even embraced the pain that burned every little cell in her body.

Kat wasn't sure if Jaxx was awake or not, "Jaxx!" she called shaking her by the sholders a little. She was standing over Jaxx who was laying on a hospital bed in the castle infermary. "Jaxx, if you can hear me don't worry. I'm going to fix this." she said. 'I just have to...' she thought to herself as she looked over Voltiar's notes. None of them made sence to her, some of the words were ones she didn't understand because they were in ancient languages plus he had a larger vocabulary than her so it was like reading hyroglyphics anyway. Her usually clever hands were tripping over everything she touched, knocking over glass viles and such in her frantic effort to save her friend's life.

Somewhere in all of the chaos, Jaxx lost awareness of the world outside her closed eyelids. She just didn't care anymore. Even death was better than this pain. Death would be her fate for letting Hunter die and become what he has become. Death would be her punishment for letting her last words with her brother be an argument. She couldn't hear Kat and Mickey and the others franticly searching for some way to save her. She lost awareness of where she even was. She just didn't care anymore.
