The New Dawn 5: Shadows Awaken

"Vale, the Flame of the West!"
"Ayrie, the Southern Mountain."
"Kaaalia the frigid bitc- Just kidding! The Blizzard of the North!"

The trio that had once fought alongside Symm appeared by Siah, shielding her from the attacks of the heartless copies. Vale was in front of her, conjuring up a 'ram' of flame to break through the enemy line. Kalia was back right and Ayrie was back left, covering up both the rear and the two flanks.
"We know what happened to Symm. . ." Vale told Siah, blasting a copy and incinerating it.
"We owe him." Ayrie began, running a clone through with an earth spike. Kalia finished, "So we thought we'd help! And, well, we can't seem to leave anyways!"
"We're here to help, and that's all that matters." Vale continued.

 

Melody widened her eyes, as she saw the heartless enemies. They looked powerful. She looked at Kiba, wanting to leave but they couldn't leave Raven alone, like Siah was. Vanquish disappeared and reappeared infront of the keyhole, blocking Siah.
"So, this is your last stand against the darkness. You have grown much stronger than when I first saw you. I almost feel proud"
Vanquish laughed, raising her keyblade.
"We have always fought. I have almost ruined your life but now this is my time, to finally kill you. Nobody will stop me!" she screamed.
Dark gas revolved around her and her keyblade shone red. She was still a shadow but she was so strong, due to the fact, she has plagued Siah's life, ever since Siah was 12.

The darkness' skeleton started to grow skin from it's bones, like roots enravelling around a building but in a bigger and faster scale. The darkness' teeth were werewolf like and sharp bones bursted out of it's skin. His devil red hair was long and dirty and his eyes were pure black. There was no white in his eyes. They looked like coal.
"I think it's about time, to give you my true name. I am the root of all things darkness. I am Erebus"
Calder had an aura of yellow around him and Erebus had an aura of black. They started to push against each other, their auras flaming.

 

Voltar quickly flew up to Raven. He kissed her on the cheek. "Like I said. I know what I need to do. When this is all over..... Just remember that no matter what happens, I will always around somewhere." He quietly laughed a little. "And to think. All we could've been. Maybe in the next life. When we're not bound to the rules of this world."

Voltair then flew up into the air. He stopped when he was higher than everything else in this massive fight. "It is time." Dark energy started to flow around Voltair. "All the darkness shall return to the host. Leave a world of light in its wake. Let darkness be forgotten about for an eon. Until a new organization of darkness forms to protect the light." All of the darkness started to flow to Voltair. It started with random bits of darkness and weak heartless being drawn towards Voltair. "And with this sacrifice, let evil be forgotten to the world."

 

Erebus could feel the darkness being sucked away. He was confused and angry. He was losing power and Calder was powering over him. Calder pushed Erebus over and the darkness fell down to the ground, wrinkles forming on his face. Erebus was growing older. Calder saw the keyblade covered with yellow energy and it was as bright as a beacon. You could see it from tens of miles away. Instantly, Calder knew what to do. He stabbed it through Erebus and the dark soul's skin started to burn away like a candle burning paper. All that was left was his skeleton but he was still barely alive.
"Damn...you..." the skeleton gasped.
Calder looked at him with disgust.
"You cannot hurt anyone anymore. You will not twist anybody else's life again. Everyone will finally have a happy life."
Erebus' bones started to come apart and get sucked up by Voltair. His arms came off.
"You and I are the same. We are both killers, Calder. We both kill to get the things we want" Erebus told Calder, trying to mess with his mind.
"No, you are wrong. I did that to stop you and the rest of the darkness from killing the innocent. I stopped you from taking over our lives and turning everything to anarchy."
All that was left now, was Erebus' skull. Erebus did not say anything, as his skull flew upto the sky and headed towards Voltair.

 

Calder nodded but as the light faded from his body, he fell to the ground, in exhaustion. His arms were poisoned and his whole body was scarred. The last 5 battles have tired him out greatly and he almost died from this exhaustion but the light around Calder healed him just enough, to stay alive. He closed his eyes, resting.

Vanquish was going to face Siah but she disappeared through Voltair's rift, leaving the keyhole open for Siah to seal. The darkness was defeated. Everything that Erebus created was destroyed.

Melody jumped up and down, in excitement.
"Siah, seal the keyhole!" she exclaimed in happiness. Everything was going to be over. She held Kiba's hand and smiled.
"There's nothing to be worried about anymore!" she told Kiba.

The nobodies that surrounded Harone and Nicole disappeared. Nicole went down to Harone.
"Harone, wake up, please wake up!"
Tears fell down onto his shirt.
"Please, don't do this to me"
Nicole placed her head on his chest, sobbing.

 

Melody staggered upto her feet and saw a boy run towards her. It was Kiba. She held her head, feeling dizzy.
"KIBA!" she exclaimed.
After, the dizziness from the sleep left her body, she ran upto Kiba and hugged him.
"Kiba, where are we?"
She was not familiar with Destiny Islands.

Nicole was lying beside Harone and woke up, as she heard Siah arguing with her brother. She looked at Harone and then upto Siah.
"Is he going to be okay?"
She held his hand.

Chris, one of the last defenders for Destiny Islands, that stayed in position over all this time looked at Emily, who was lying down on the sand, with her hand on her stomach. She was silent. Chris suddenly got worried and crouched down next to her. Emily, the person who tried to stop Anselm from attacking the others was injured aswell. She took a stab to the stomach. Chris placed his hands over her stomach, closing his eyes. He focused on curing her. Soon, a green light illuminated from her body and the cuts and punctures through her body were fixed and skin crept back over it's proper position; so were her bones.

Calder was sleeping silently. The battles he had over the past few hours tired him out entirely. He was in a deep sleep.

 

"Wake up Calder. Please. You're going to miss the Dawn we fought to finally see."
Calder smiled and hazily opened his eyes. He looked at Siah and got up to face her. He placed his arm around her. He looked at the sunrise, with beaming eyes.
"This is the end of our suffering, Siah. We can finally live happily together" he said, with a tear of happiness in his eye. They could hear the birds singing and rejoicing over the sound of the waves hitting the sand.

Melody smiled and liked how Kiba's soft hand touched hers.
"Kiba, I am glad you came to that jail cell with me. I'm so glad we're together" Melody told Kiba. She kissed him on the cheek and then looked back at the sunset.
"I...love you..." she said awkwardly.

 

Voltair looked around. All of his surroundings were pitch black, and yet he could see perfectly. Whenever he breathed, he could see his breath. It was a dark cloud, not like what it regularly looks like to see somebody's breath. "All the darkness in the world.... And now I'm here. Where it is forever dark. I suppose this is a fitting prison to spend the rest of eternity in. Waiting until the end of my days."

Voltair floated around, pondering about his fate. "If I were to perhaps break free of this burden.... Become a denizen of the light again...." He chuckled to himself. "That won't happen for a long time though. I agreed to be the darkness for a long time. Though, I suppose when the time comes, Kingdom Hearts will be the key." Voltair paused, before suddenly laughing. "The darkness has gotten to me. To seek Kingdom Hearts. That is the goal of the darkness. And I see now.... To free myself of the darkness I need to do what the darkness does. How'll I do it without becoming an enemy? Oh well, does not matter. By the time I can be free, everybody I know will have passed away."

 

"Hey. Voltair."

Symm materialized next to him in that dark cloud, looking like he did the first time they met. He was looking up, almost as if watching a cloud.

"You know, the darkness doesn't go on forever. Nothing ever does. Not even immortality. . . I'd expect that you would know that by now." The ghost turned to Voltair and gave him as smile. "Now, I have some last words to give to our other friends in reality. I s'pose it's goodbye for good - but we'll meet again on the other end of the horizon."

Symm walked away from Voltair before turning and giving a salute; And with that, he vanished into the mist.

He reappeared on Destiny Islands, glancing at his bare wrist. "I'm right on schedule. . ." The man walked to Calder and Siah, waving ever slightly to get their attention. "Hoy, you two. I've got a short amount of time left, so I'd suggest that you listen."

 

She went straight through him, seeing as he was ethereal. He laughed heartily, saying, "Hey, watch it! I just got this ecto-body or whatever you call this! Anyways, I've got a few things to tell you two." Pausing for a moment for her to get up, he cleared his throat to begin. "One: Scatter my ashes to the winds. My body is still at Disney Castle. . . Two, take good care of your kids. You're going to have three. Don't ask me how I know, I've said enough as it is. Last, but not least, I want you to rest easy. Trust me, you guys are free now."

He turned to the ocean, smiling at the horizon. "The sun's coming up. . . Ain't it pretty? It's gonna be a long day, so you'd better make the most of it."

 

Melody smiled.
"Of course but I want to find my parents first..."
Sora walked up behind Kiba and Melody, with two people.
"Hello, Melody" said a familiar male voice. Melody beamed and turned around to see her dad. He was tall, brown haired and had a circular birthmark, which was on his cheek. Melody knew it was her father. She hugged him, tightly with tears streaming down her face. Tears of happiness.
"Daddy..."
Her mother, who had blonde hair hanging down to her shoulders hugged her aswell, with her hazel brown eyes shining in the sunrise light.
"Mom..."
"We missed you, Melody" her mother told her, almost breaking into tears.
"I missed you too"
Melody let go and looked at Sora.
"Thankyou"
She turned to Kiba and took his hand. She pulled him towards them.
"Mom, dad, this is Kiba" she exclaimed with cheeriness. She had never been so happy in her life.
Her parents smiled and so did Sora. They knew what was going on.

Calder looked at Symm, with sad eyes.
"Thankyou Symm for everything you have done for us. I'm sorry for what happened."

 

"Later Symm." Voltair said, doing a mock salute. "Funny how our enemies can become our friends. Don't know what would've happened without you. See you on the other side.... Whenever I get there."

Voltair waved his hand through the air. The darkness around him spread apart, opening to about the size of a window. He could see anything he wanted through this ability. He saw Raven. He reached through it, but nothing happened. "This'll be a fun puzzle. How do I get out of here? Probably when my time here is up. But I wonder..... There might be a loophole."

Voltair closed his eyes and concentrated. A ghostly looking form of him walked out of his body. It walked through the hole in the darkness.

 

"Dad, can we live here!?" Melody asked, not wanting to leave her friends, especially Kiba.
"We were already thinking about that, honey" her mother replied.
Melody smiled and took Kiba's hand. They went down to the beach and sat down on the grainy sand.
"I love this place!" Melody exclaimed, happy she was living here.

 

Symm glanced at his bare wrist again, then sighed. "Well, it looks like I'm out of time. . . Oh! One last thing! Tell those idiot companions of mine that the winds in the east blow no more!" He hastefully added. He began to wave as his figure disappeared in the wind, his scythe falling into the sand beside him. "Take good care of this thing! Good-bye, you two!"

And then, he vanished.
