The New Dawn 5: Shadows Awaken

Symm let out a cough, but no blood came. He looked down to see that the spear had indeed pierced his armor and where his heart was - but he was already nearly dead anyways. He cast a glance at Calder, sending a meek smile as the wind began to pick up. The air swirled around his body, before it fell into glowing pieces of flower petals, and then swirled around his scythe. It began to levitate, pulling itself from the ground before it flew to Calder's side, embedded in the top of the wall to give him leverage up.

 

Calder suddenly was filled with anger, as he saw Symm fade away into the wind. He grabbed hold of the scythe and used it to turn over the ledge. He looked at the darkness with anger and Symm's scythe was in Calder's right hand, as the kingdom key he held before was hanging above Calder. His other hand held Oathkeeper. The scythe was heavier than the keyblade but Calder, with his andrenaline held the scythe as upright as the Oathkeeper.
"ENOUGH!!! YOU WILL NOT KILL ANYONE ELSE!!" he shouted, with bright light in his eyes. His voice sounded deeper, as if he was a god.
The wind blustered and thrown the darkness off the roof. Calder jumped off alongside the skeleton and thrusted all three keyblades that dangled over Calder's head into the dark beast. It screeched and shouted in pain, like a snake. Calder's hand built up with light energy and a blast the size of the heartless castle itself shot out from his hands. This was the power Kingdom Hearts gave him. He felt all powerful. The blast caused the darkness to shatter through the building and the rubble landed on the beast. Calder drifted down to the bottom and watched for any sign of movement. There was none. Calder still stood still, out of breath and clutching his heart, preparing for another attack. He still sensed the darkness in the atmosphere. That blast took a lot out of him. Will he be able to keep fighting?

 

"I dunno. Possibly. Let's see." Voltair said. He pulled his arm back, ready to take a swing. He swung at the rocks, hitting with all his strength. The ground all around them shook.

Nothing happened at first. But then a crack formed. It quickly spread to the rest of the rock. It shattered, breaking into small little pebbles.

The rubble from the heartless castle started to circle around an object frantically. It was the darkness. It was a small ball of darkness hovering in the air. It had eyes, that looked like flames on it's surface, and dark gases swarmed around it but as Calder ran to approach it, the rubble pieces came together and formed a rocky, brick made creature.
It was a golem, the height of the valley around them. It was colossal. Calder dodged out of the way just in time, to avoid the bricks hitting him.



"YOU WILL NOT DEFEAT THE DARKNESS, LIGHT SCUM!!!"
It pounded it's fist towards Calder and before he could react, the huge hand crushed Calder. The darkness screamed in laughter. A light barrier formed around Calder and he summoned his keyblade. This would be the last fight, he would face.

 

Or so it had thought. The scythe in Calder's hands was unnaturally sturdy, and when he fell, the blade was embedded into the ground just above his shoulder. With the back of it pointing straight up, it only just barely stopped the hand from crushing him.

Vale sat on a rock on the empty battlefield, breathing a sigh.

"You know, I don't think he's coming back from that door."

"So, what do we do now, Vallie?" Kalia asked, sitting beside him.

"Return home." Aerie muttered.

"So we will. . ." Vale sighed, and the group disappeared. . .

The colossus was angry and roared. Calder looked at the huge beast with widened eyes. He was starting to doubt himself, if he would be able to defeat the darkness but Calder shook his head and raised his now, only 1 keyblade and Symm's scythe. The scythe was beginning to get heavy because he had grown tired. The colossus started to walk towards him and Calder knew he had to do something fast. He dropped the scythe and ran towards the colossus. He saw vines growing from it's stomach. The rumbles from it's movement, made Calder imbalanced and he tripped but he got up once again and sprinted towards the vines. The beast swung it's hammer at Calder but he ducked and carried on running. He jumped on the vine and started to climb up it. The scythe was in the air, spinning in a circle behind Calder, acting as a shield. The wind caught up around the colossus' hammer hand and the wind became so strong that the hammer was thrown off it's hand. Calder was not affected and carried on climbing.

 

Calder was climbing shakily on the vines, that the creature dispersed on it's chest.
Melody caught sight of the colossal beast and saw a boy climbing it. It was Calder!
She patted Siah's arm.
"Calder's in trouble! Look!!!"
The beast jumped and this caused Calder to lose balance and only grab onto the vine with one hand. He looked down and his heartbeat raced as he noticed he was halfway upto the clouds! He shook his head and used his strength to get back up. He was becoming weak. The last battle and the climbing drained him. He was 3/4 of the way to it's head. Heartless started to attack Calder. Most of them were taken out by Symm's scythe spinning by itself but some of them got through and slashed his back. Calder swung his keyblade, slashing them away but they kept coming.
Melody was watching from the other side of the dark radiant gardens.
"Calder's struggling to fight. He looks tired" she said with worry. She watched him climb further up.

 

Melody screamed "NO!!!"
Her heart raced with worry. Her body beamed light and she was able to walk through the barrier. She held his hand.
"Kiba, KIBA, please wake up!!!" she shouted, with tears. Her tears fell onto his pale cheek.
"Please...wake...up" she repeated with a shaky voice. She was trying to hold back the tears so she could speak, trying to wake him up. She couldn't stop. Her tears were falling like rain.

Harone and Nicole finished the remaining nobodies in The World That Never Was but suddenly they started to overpower them, as more onslaughts from the countless hearts, Kingdom Hearts received over tens of thousands of years attacked them. The enemies were growing much stronger, with bulky bodies and more advanced attacks.
Suddenly a nobody came up from behind Harone and stabbed him with it's samurai sword. He fell down and Nicole looked at him with fear in her eyes.
"HARONE!!!"

Connore and Pamela were looking at the blue sky but were afraid, as Connore first noticed a stream of black ripping across the bright blue clear sky, like a scar. His heart was beating like a drum and so was Pamela's. They were sensing darkness in the air and they of all people, would know if there was something going on. Calder's mother, Yuna called after them. She was looking after them, while Nicole was helping the others. She was also looking after Harone and Nicole's new children; Lucas and Dawn. She held them in her arms. She looked distressed and worried about her friends and ofcourse her son, Calder.
"Connore, Pamela, it's time for dinner" she told them, with a usual calm voice.
They nodded and walked back with Yuna to her house.

 

"Maybe." Voltair said, getting into an offensive stance. "Especially now since my eyes have been opened. I see what it is I need to do. To end all the fighting. I understand that it may lead to my demise, but I'm gonna make sure you're long gone before then." Shadow clones of Voltair appeared. They spread out until they surrounded Porter.

 

After Kiba opened his eyes, he embraced him with her head on his shoulder.
"Kiba...I was so worried..."
She let go of her head on his shoulder and kissed him on the lips, not knowing how else she would be able to say how happy she was to see him alive.

The thunder magic, that Siah dispersed took out the heartless around him. His back was slashed many times by the heartless' swords and weapons. Calder did not know it was Siah but he remained going on. Eventually, without giving up, he made it to the top of the colossus' head and thrusted his keyblade into it and Symm's scythe followed along suit. They both beamed in light and the light inside the colossus caused it to explode into dark shards. Calder was starting to fall and he shouted in fright. He was getting memories of what happened in Radiant Gardens, when he died but this time, he could save himself. He focused his mind on gliding through the air. A force stopped him from falling and he remained motionless, flying. He gave a sigh of relief and landed on the ground. He turned around and saw Siah. He beamed with happiness.
"SIAH!"
He ran upto her and hugged her.

 

"I plan to do what I've been able to do all along." Voltair answered. "Strength is of no importance. I will never fight with my full strength." Voltair laughed to himself. "Fate... Pity. It really is. But that is what happens to us creatures of the dark. Never getting what we desire. Always getting so close. But never allowed to achieve our goals. I cannot fight fate. I can only look for some way to get around it. Maybe in a millennia. Maybe then I'll be past the point of exsistance where I'm no longer bounded by fate."

 

Calder nodded but as he was about to run, the dark purple shards of darkness that were left around the ground, started to enravell in a circle around Calder and Siah. They both appeared on a tower overlooking a red, lava wasteland.
"This is the tower of Dark Rebirth. This is where the Dark Order was resurrected by Vanquish and now I will bring every dark being back from the grave!" the darkness shouted in excitement. The darkness appeared as a skeleton again but this time, it's bones were made of purple shards of darkness, which was like diamond.
Calder ran towards him but he fell down to the ground, as a sharp pain hit his side. He was tired from his previous fights and his heart was weakening from the amount of light energy he had used before.

The darkness shrilly laughed at how weak, Calder was.
"Pitiful human"

 

"Never give up." A voice rang in Calder and Siah's heads. A figure made of a foggy light appeared, very much like a blurry silhouette. "The night may be long, but Dawn will always come. Like all things, day and night are an everlasting circle. Even the longest winter night must give way to morning." The figure made an open arm gesture before splitting into two small light orbs. "With the last vestiges of my strength, I bestow these gifts upon you."

The two orbs flew to Calder and Siah, turning into Keychains and were suspended in midair.

Calder looked at Siah and nodded. Their keyblades glowed and a white glow covered around them. They were ready to fight the darkness and Calder felt rejuvenated.
"It's time to end the suffering for all worlds. You are the source of death and destruction. Atleast for a lifetime, you will fade away into nothingness. There will be peace"
A glow from both keyblades' tip formed a beam and restricted the darkness' arms to the ground. The darkness shouted "WHAT IS THIS!?"
"It is the power of someone who has sacrificed his life and someone who was neglected by you and the darkness"
Wind gathered around Calder and Siah. Calder felt an energy of wind surge through him. The keyblader raised his hands and a pulse of wind caused the skeleton to be sent off the tower, flying through the air. Calder followed it and jumped off.
"Siah, take out the tower!" he shouted as he was going through the air. He was flying, with Symm's powers. The darkness fell to the magma ground. Calder attempted to strike it down but the darkness reacted and slashed him away with a snake like whip. Calder held his left arm, where it was slashed. It was poisoned.
