The New Dawn 5: Shadows Awaken

". . . Yeah, so stuff." Symm talked as he punched in various keys on a console, eventually getting a screen that resembled a compass. "This should point us in the direction Calder's in. . . or his ship, at least."

He took a moment to stretch before continuing to toy with the console, before setting the ship on autopilot.

"Anyone want a drink? I'm pretty sure there's a minibar on this thing."

 

Harone walked over to a wooden table. There was a mini fridge under it. It had drinks. There were soda cans, water bottles and beer. He grabbed the beer and sat down on a nearby chair, drinking it with an uncertain look on his face. Where was his children? He had to save them.

Brakdern was looking at Harone's babies and another tear slid down his face and fell onto the little girl's cheek. This made him sad because it reminded him that he wanted to have a family with Siah, when they would be married. He hoped Siah was still wearing her engagement ring. Suddenly the baby girl held his hand, trying to comfort Brakdern.
"I will return you to your father. He would be very worried" Brakdern told the baby.
The good side of him was coming out more. The darkness didn't take him over yet. Brakdern walked outside, babies in his arms. He was looking at the black sky.

Anselm touched Brakdern's shoulder.
"This will be your last good act, Brakdern....or..."
An image of Siah came up in Brakdern's mind. He dropped the babies and they started to cry. They were not injured. They were worried for Brakdern. A scream pierced through his mind. It was Siah's. He saw her fall to the ground, hand clenched at her heart. Her eyes were closed and her skin was ice white.
"That is what will happen if you don't follow my orders"

Melody and Kiba witnessed what happened. They were hiding in a faraway alleyway and could bearly hear what Anselm was saying.
"That is what will happen if you don't follow my orders"
Melody was holding onto Kiba's arm tightly.
"Kiba...I'm scared...who is that man, he's torturing?...and who are those babies?"

Brakdern was screaming.
"SIAH...SIAH!!!"
"I can make the thoughts stop, Brakdern but you have to bow down to me if you want it to"
Brakdern looked down and placed is hands on the floor. He got onto all fours and bowed his head. Sweat poured down to the dark black tiles of the ground.
"Please....just....stop...."
Anselm clicked his fingers and the thoughts faded from his mind.

 

"You sure, Siah? You don't look so hot right now. . ." Symm asked her, before getting up and going to the fridge himself. He grabbed a waterbottle and tossed it to her, regardless of her answer. With a flourish, he strolled back to his seat - but turned back to Siah to say one last thing. "You know, I'd normally have advice for you, but I've got nothing right now."

Nobody comes back from death a third time. . . A voice from the distant past echoed in his head. . .

 

Melody sighed. Suddenly her eyes beamed brightly in white and suddenly she saw Calder, looking down. She could see his soul being taken away by darkness. She looked into Kiba's eyes with horror.
"I just saw your friend, being taken away by the darkness. His name was....Calder. Why did I get a vision?"

Brakdern could feel Siah's heart suffering.
"Siah, I am sorry for what I did. I'm sorry for arguing with you. You were right. I have to go for a long while. I may see you again. I'm sorry" he messaged her.
Brakdern stood up and looked at the crying babies. He picked them up and disappeared and reappeared beside Nicole. He placed them down next to her. He looked away and disappeared again. He reappeared infront of Anselm.
"So, what do you want me to do first?"
"Kill the King"
Brakdern looked down. He wanted to refuse but he knew he'd kill Siah, if he didn't. Also the darkness was causing his mind to change.

 

Melody looked down.
"He's...he's turning into...let's just say he's turning dark. Anselm is using Calder's love for Siah to his advantage. I'm afraid, if we don't stop him, he'll cause the worlds to tremble to the darkness like it did last time"
She saw a gummi ship come into the world's atmosphere.
"I'm guessing that's Siah. Should we tell her about Calder?"

Brakdern looked down.
"Remember Anselm, you will not touch Siah, understand?" he told him coldly.
"As long as you follow my orders"
Brakdern frowned.

 

"Well, we're approaching somewhere. Not sure where, 'cause all my sensors are going fuzzy," Symm grumbled as he prepared to disembark. "Siah. . . remember that whatever you may see down there, you must press forward. I have a funny feeling we're about to become knee-deep in one helluva situation. . ."

With that said, he grabbed his scythe and checked the blade, stroking the tip with his finger. The blade drew blood instantly, and he sighed and pointed to a blue button.

"Just press the button when you're ready to go."

 

Harone stood up from his seat and patted Symm's shoulder. He then turned towards Siah.
"No matter what happens, Siah, we cannot let anything distract us or stop us from defeating the darkness" he told her. Harone held out a circular red stone out of his pocket.
"The King told me to give you this. It will aid you in battle. It is a summon stone"

 

Voltair pressed the button. "We're ready. And we need to hurry up. I have other things that I need to do. And I'd rather do them quickly. The sooner the better."

 

Melody shook her head.
"No, it's too dangerous, Kiba"
She held his hand, not wanting him to leave her. She was scared.

Brakdern made a portal and stepped through to find Siah. His heart sank, as he saw her upset and desperate face. He looked down to the ground, his red eyes beaming in the darkness. He hoped she wouldn't recognise him.

 

Brakdern looked up and faked a smile. He was upset inside. It was going to crush her. He had to show his old self dead and when he would show it, his good side would completely be gone and sealed inside Calder's dead body.
"Calder said, he loved you. He wanted me to say that. I feel sad for him. He would have done so well if he went to the darkness"
He gave a sadistic smile.
"Do you want to see the end result?"
He clicked his fingers and suddenly the pale dead body of Calder appeared. Suddenly a ball of light left Brakdern's heart and flew out of his body and into Calder's. His body glowed yellow softly and then faded back to a pearl white colour. His body still had signs of life but it was very, very faint, to the point of a single heartbeat per minute.
"Calder will die very soon. Anselm has used that waste of skin into one of the most powerful beings in the world. You must know, though. He never meant what he said before. He didn't want to see you hurt. He thought sacrificing his own life and killing others was the only way for you to live without darkness but he was foolish. The deaths of King Mickey and Voltair would have saddened you deeply. I did brainwash him alot though"
Brakdern laughed.
"I made him into a derranged monster and now he is in his eternal sleep"
He summoned his keyblade.
"Now it is your time to die, princess!" Brakdern screamed as he thrusted his blade towards Siah.
"NO!"
Harone blocked the attack, holding his keyblade horizontally.
"You have caused her enough pain already"

Melody nodded.
"Please be careful"
She pecked him on the lips and ran away, looking for Siah.

 

Suddenly, Two scythes came whirling down from above at Brakdern as Symm appeared in a flash of petals, holding the original weapon in his hands. He saw the body, and his face turned into one of gigantic rage. He snarled, "You. . . . BASTARD! I'm going to kill you once, then kill you again, and the kill you just one more time for luck!" before sending white blades of energy at the evil being.

 

A gash went through Brakdern's cloak from Symm's attack, revealing a pendant he wore. There was a shell on the end of the line. It looked as though tears were falling from the shell. The tears shimmered in the moonlight, as they fell to the ground. Tears then ran down Brakdern's. They were faded red. It was red like the sunset. The red and the tears mixed like a cauldron and both of the liquids diluted. That's when the white blades of energy came towards Brakdern. All he could do was stand still, ashamed and sad of what has happened over the past few years. The white blades hit him and almost shot through his heart. Scars were marked onto Brakdern's pale white skin. He still stood in the same position. His emotional pain was more painful than his physical pain. Calder's heart felt as though it was fading away. That was why the tears fell from the shell. They were his tears and the emotions from this, made Brakdern cry too. He was immobolized by Calder's hurt. The shell was glowing blue. Brakdern looked up at Siah.
"This was very dear to me. Do you know why?"

Anselm ran at Symm and tackled him to the ground with his blade.
"You will stay out of his way"

 

The area around everybody went dark. Very dark. Nobody could see further than three feet in front of them. Voltair's voice echoed throughout the entire area. "Brakdern.... After all those years working together I never thought you'd be a crybaby like you're being. But I suppose I know why. And you, the newcomer. Anselm right? Thanks for coming. You just made my job so much quicker. So do me a favor and don't resist your death."

 

Brakdern looked up at Siah.
"Calder did this for you. He was afraid, the darkness would conquer. The only way he thought you could be safe is for him to plunge his heart into darkness. Too bad, that will now be a forgotten promise"
Brakdern sped towards Siah and thrusted his blade towards her heart. The shell was fuming smoke. The shell turned red.

Anselm grinned.
"You really think you can kill me? I have become much stronger and you, my friend have grown weaker. I can see it in your eyes"

 

"Oh but of course." Voltair replied calmly. "Life isn't fun if I'm stronger than everybody. Of course, if you value your life so much, I'll make you a deal. A simple one, and one that'll allow you to live longer than you normally would. What was it learned from Raven's memory that brought you back?"
