The New Dawn 5: Shadows Awaken

Rai nodded but she didn't look convinced. She didn't have any memory of this place at all. She was about to answer when Hunter interrupted. Rai looked back at him and glared "Do you really have nothing better to do then stalk people through castles!" she said irritably.

Arlene appeared by Porter "Your plan failed. The memories that were lost are still lost. Sending Rai through the castle did nothing."

Porter shrugged "Maybe but that doesn't mean plan B wont."

Arlene giggled "Alright, see that it doesn't." she said as she turned to walk away "Oh and by the way, I know you're in on it too."

Porter looked confused "On wh...?"

Arlene smiled "Just remember to keep it quiet until the time is right ok?" she dissapeared.

Porter shook his head and called after her "Be at the Tower when you're supposed to be. Your newbie doesn't have the attention span to do this assagnment without a little help."

"Yeah, yeah." Arlene responded before she dissapeared through a dark portal.

Minney tapped on Mickey's solder and whispered something and Mickey nodded to her before he turned to Harone, Calder, Siah, and Symm again "For now, you all need to get to the Castle Oblivion. Minney is afraid something bad might be happening there. Come back as soon as you're done there and I'll explain everything then."

 

Siah saw Calder's anger and sighed, walking after him. She took his hand "It's ok.. I promise everythings going to be fine." she whispered to him.

Rai looked at Voltair and Hunter but before she could say anything a female voice giggled behind them. Rai turned around to see Arlene sitting there on the window sill.

Arlene looked at the three and then stood up "Put the toys away for a moment boys. I'm sure there will be time for that later. For now, I think its time we set a few facts straight. Thats what you two came here for isn't it? Answers to Raven's past?"

 

Siah stopped after Calder yelled at her. She watched him walk toward the ship and in a very small voice answered him "...maybe we aren't. But I wont give up on that hope. Its the only reason I can stand getting back on that ship." she said, she could feel tears swim in her eyes but she refused to shed them. Now wasn't the time for that.

Arlene sighed "Ok fine as long as you realize how much of a child you seem like right now..." she half turned toward the dark side of the tower "But there is something you should notice... Rai which side of the tower are you standing on?"

Rai's face was emotionless "I dont know. Thats why I came here."

Arlene smiled a little "Just as well but I meant physically in the present. Rai, you are on the dark half. Raven could never go to the dark side of the tower. Not even after her light was lost. But it seems that the hero here has lost intrest in knowlege and more into senseless brutality. My my, has the darkness been growing in the hero's heart?" she winked.

 

Arlene just smiled and walked over to her original place by the window. "Then if it's a fight you want then your wish is my command. Or maybe... hers."

Rai pulled her sword out "I"m sorry Voltair."

 

Arlene shrugged "Not everyone against you is the same Voltair. What you dream means nothing to me." she stood up. As she did, shadows formed on the ground and when they faided a girl lay on the ground. Her brunette hair fell across the floor in messy ringlets and her eyes were closed. Despite the fact that her face was more angular than Rai's, her skin was a little darker but other than that she and Rai could have been twins. "All I was sent here to do was help you two know the truth. We found her," she gestured to the unconcious girl "In the dark relm some months ago. The one who found her: Rai. Or as we call her, Rachael."

Rai walked over to stand next to Arlene "The weird thing is, if my memories are correct, she should be dead. Though unresponsive Porter, our medical expert, and Tom, an expert with the mind and soul, both say that she is not only alive but she may be aware of some of what goes on around her. Whatever that quality is, we need her concious in order to know for sure because she's blocked her memories away from us." her appearence seemed to be changing. Her eyes were not Raven's blue anymore. They were turning a red color.

Arlene nodded "We were hoping to gain the knowlege by force by leading Rachael through the Castle Oblivion using Your's and Raven's memories but as you can see she managed to tamper with that memory as well. Which is where you come into plan B."

Siah glared and dissapeared. She appeared on the ship. *Raven taught her how to use lIght corridors remember *.

 

Siah glared "Quit yelling at me I'm trying to help you Calder." she said calmly but she sounded annoyed and hurt. She walked over to the navigator and saw that the Castle Oblivion wasn't that far off. "Looks like there are a few people there but I dont see why King Mickey would send us there."

Arlene looked at Rachael expectantly. Rachael nodded "When he lost his temper like that I saw the memory we needed. I know how to bring him back but making him concious might be more of an obsticle." she said as she finished morphing. She brushed a strand of her short silver hair out of her face and looked at Arlene "Go tell Tom and Porter what we've learned."

Arlene nodded and looked at Hunter "And we dont need Voltair or Raven anymore. You can do what you want with that information." she winked and then Arlene and Rai dissapeared.

 

This time it was Siah's turn to feel angry but she was more hurt than anything "Calder do you really think I can just sit in Disney Castle knowing you're out here and in danger?!" she said walking up behind him and turning his chair so he was looking at her again "That would KILL me and you know it! I wont get in your way just dont you dare think I'm one of those girls that will sit back and worry about you every slow hour that i know you're out here when I know that I could be here beside you where I'm supposed to be ok?"
