The New Dawn 4: Attack of the Final Star

Raven nodded "The keyholes are in our hearts which means that the only way to reveal them is to give up our hearts. Seeing as we partly dont exist I'm not sure we would even come back as nobodies at that point. I'm not sure what happens to us after one of the keyholes is unlocked." she looked worried "Or what will happen to this world."

Siah nodded "We should hurry..." she agreed though she looked back toward the house where Harone and Nicole still slept.

 

Raven looked away, this is what she had been afraid of too because she knew how she would have felt if this situation were turned "If I dont help then all of the worlds will remain in darkness and the tyrany of the Dark Order. I cant just stand aside and do nothing."

 

Raven shook her head "And take Siah's life away from her?" she sighed "I dont really exist Voltiar. Neither of us do at this point. And as long as we both live then neither of us can truly live on like normal. We will be connected to this place forever and you will never be able to age or go into the world of light because of it. After the door to light is opened then the dark one will be destroyed. Your life will continue as normal, no more darkness in your heart and no more living forever. Dont you see that this will help you as well as the worlds."

Siah followed Calder and made sure all of the sheild gummis were working properly before she went inside the ship.

Jaxx shrugged "Well something makes me think that whatever is up with him has something to do with our dark keyhole crisis." she said with a knowing smile.

 

Raven sighed "I understand." she said. What she was about to say next she wasn't srue if she was lying or not but she had to say something... even if it was lying to both him and herself "Like I said before, it isn't exactly set in stone what is going to happen. Who knows, maybe after the doors are unlocked we both will live or maybe time will rewind itself to where we're supposed to be. I never said it was sure either of us were going to die technically." she realized then that she wasn't exactly lying. She really had no idea what would happen except that light or darkness would be restored to the worlds.

 

Raven shook her head "I refuse to believe that." she said for the first time taking her eyes off of the ground to look at Voltiar "Every time we got separated we found a way back to eachother no matter what the cause. I dont plan on ending that even if we do get separated because of whatever happens... I will find a way back to you. You promised to come back to me one day and you kept your promise. Not it's my turn to make that promise to you. And I know this is going to work... it just has to. Otherwise I'm not sure how else to return the worlds to their normal order."

 

Siah and the others entered the ship and then the door closed behind them. Siah looked at Symm "Do we even know where we are going? Where is the door to the light anyway? It could be anywhere."

Raven was almost convinced to forget this scheme when she heard the defeat in his voice. She could feel tears sting in her eyes but she forced back her doubt... there was no other way to save the worlds and her home world. She had to give her life to spare the many. She sighed hugged Voltiar back, burrying her face in his sholder. She never answered his question, the two of them just stood there for a while seemingly lost in time. Raven was afraid to die, who wasn't? But she couldn't let that stop her now so she decided to at least enjoy her last moments with Voltiar and not let her fear and doubt interrupt that. After a moment she answered his question "...Its the darkness in your heart in the light in mine. It will always repel eachother. Thats why we felt so at ease in the tower of twilight. The darkness and light there balanced it out." her voice was muffled slightly by her sore throat and his sholder, she hadn't moved at all. She suddenly pulled away, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand "We dont have much time. Voltiar, I need you to do me a favor. Go find Siah and Calder and lead them here. Now that you've been here again, you will be able to find your way back. I will get things ready while you are gone."

 

Siah heard a voice almost in her head that said the Tower of Twilight. Siah looked at Symm and then at Calder. She could tell by his expression that he had heard it too. She smiled a little and then looked at Symm "To the center of the Tower of Twilight. Hurry. I think theres a window in the twilight where we can climb in and not have to worry about going back to Destiny Island."

Raven watched Voltiar leave and then looked back at the destroyed City of Dawn. She sighed and closed her eyes "Ok... I'm ready father. I know what I need to do. But I dont think I can do this alone." at first there was no responce but then a soft breeze blew past Raven, blowing her hair away from her face. Through the wind Raven could have sworn she had heard a very distinct familiar sound, a child's laugh. Raven opened her eyes and was taken aback by what she saw. The city was still destroyed. She could see that. But there was something strange. It was like a veil over all of the destroyed buildings. A veil made of memories. Raven could see the shadow of what the city use to be raising above the ground, transparent and almost hard to see at some points. Standing right in front of Raven were four ghostly figures. A childlike version of Raven, Voltiar, Amelia, and Jared. Raven glared, was she seeing a memory? She saw Voltiar and Raven wave goodbye to Amelia and Jared. Amelia and Jared nodded, their innocent smiles faided as Raven and Voltiar ran off. Amelia looked at Raven, directly at the adult Raven staring down at the two ghostly children with a mortified expression "We are still here Raven." Raven's heart nearly skipped a beat. "And you can bring us back."
Raven nodded "I know. I promise I'm going to do just that." she said.
Amelia and Jared nodded and then Jared pointed toward the figures of Raven and Voltiar, their silowettes dissapearing into the distance "Follow your memories Raven. Follow your heart. It will lead you to the door."
Raven nodded and without annother word, she started forward, following the child Raven and VOltiar. Trying to not be so creeped out about the fact that she was watching one of her own memories second hand. "Ok... what happened this day that I missed?" she thought to herself as she watched her child self run off ahead, she and Voltiar seemed to be racing. Raven vaugly remembered this day. Why did all of this seem so distinctly familiar. Raven was actually afraid of what she would see next.

The Gummi Ship hovered outside the window at the Tower of Twilight. Siah was the first to climb through the window and step throuhg into the window into the twilight room. Siah looked around "Ok, we're here. What now?" she said out loud.

Raven followed the two children for a long distance. She could see the two speaking but she couldn't hear what they were saying. Just then she saw the two of them enter into a crack in the wall near the castle like building in the middle of the city. Raven stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the two enter. Just then the memories came back. This is the memory of the day the City of Dawn was destroyed. Voltiar and I saw something in that hole. When we stepped through... but I dont remember what it was. Raven ran forward toward the hole quickly. Unsure what she would find but she hoped she was going the right way. She had to get on her hands and knees and crawl through the hole. She was a lot bigger now than she had been when she was a little girl. Back then all she and Voltiar and the others would have to do to get into their 'secret hiding place' was crouch down a little. At the end of the tunnel at the entrence, Raven found herself in a large chamber tall enough that she could stand up in actually it was tall enough Raven couldnt' see the ceiling at all. "Huh... this is odd." she thought to herself as she took a step forward. She looked around. The memory had ended. The childlike versions of herself and Voltiar were gone. She couldn't remember what happened next so the vision ended. "Ok... looks like from here on, I'm on my own." she thought to herself.
