The New Dawn 2- The New Darkness

Siah didn't look convinced. She lay down proping herself up on her elbow, looking at Calder's face. Her hair hung over her sholder and brushed at the sand with it's soft tips. "...It makes me sad when I see you upset." she said, still looking worried.

Raven sat on the crooked palm tree looking out onto the waves. She missed home a lot but this Island was so close to it. So pieceful and bright and carefree. There was a paupu fruit in her hand, she just stared at it for a while before she sighed and threw it into the water, watching the waves and currents carry it away in the dancing sunlight.

 

Siah frowned "Well that is... strange." she sighed but then smiled "But since when did rumors and threatts get you down Calder?" she said. She kissed him on the cheek "Whhatever happens will but rigght now we have stopped evil again you should be happy. Iff your all glum in between times that evil strikes then what time do you have to smile?"

 

Raven watched as the yellow star faided away slowly into the blue distance of the waves. Her hair which she had pullled out of the braid, was gettting a little tangled in the bark kof the tree but she ignored it. She thought about the past and now realizing that back then when she, Voltiar, Amelia, and Jared (The first boyfriend they wwere talking about earlier) were growing up they were always talking about the future. All of them agreed that by now Voltiar would be a doctor of some kind or a pilot. Amelia one time joked that Raven would be a pilot for the defence force of their world. Raven hated flying just as much back then as she did now. Back then things had been so much more simple. They would meet in town square every morning at whatever time they felt like, their days had all been carefree durring the summer when they didnt have school. There was no worrying about what new place they would have to venture to save the world, no thinking that any day now we could all die. Now every littte thing was hard, she couldnt even decide if it would be the right thing to tell him how she felt or not, not for the fear of rejection but for the fact that it would mean danger for both of them if their enemies found out about her feelings. Every little decision was the difference between life and death and everything in between. She sighed irritably to herself, trying to stop thinking because the memories were bringing tears to her eyes and thoughts of teh future only held more curiosity.

Siah smiled and kissed him back, she wasnt sure if she hard truly convinced him or not but she decidedn ot to bring it up just now. She just wanted everyone to be happy for as long as that would last.

 

Siah smileed brightly and took Calder's hand. "Come on! Let's go meet them. I'm sure dad will wnat to know they are here too." she giggled. "They would make a cute married couple when will Harone see that!?" she said jockingly as she and Calder started running.

 

Siah opened the front door "Daddy! Mom! We're home and guess whoo came to see us!" she said with a bright smile. She sudenly stoped when she saw the looks on her parents faces "... Um... ae you two ok?" she said, concerned. Her dad was grinning brightly and her mom looked equally as happy but they allso looked suprised about something and expeant.

 

Siah was startled but she suddenly smiled "Mom! Thats wonderful that means I"m going to be a big sister!" she said happily "How long have you known? I can't believe you didn't tell me sooner! Is it going to be a boy or a girl?" she couldn't get out everything she wanted to say fast enough. "This is so exciting!"
