The Keyblade Academy Chapter 1 - Remnants (IC Thread)

"I seem to recall, Hades, that you are somewhat more powerful in the Underworld, whereas neither of you are more powerful in the Land Of The Dragons. So naturally, we would fight you in the Underworld - humiliation always was a favourite of mine."

Yuni made a show of carefully placing an arrow in her right palm, and stroking it.

 

"Yes Yuni. Draw their full power out. More power for me to acquire then." Motx thought to himself. "Pity we aren't heroes. Then we could be weakened by the Underworld." His sword opened up another portal. "The Underworld Coliseum. Ready whenever you guys are." Motx walked through the portal.

 

Motx was clever, and Yuni perhaps - just perhaps - even had a little respect for him. By opening the portal, and entering it himself, he had shown how little he thought of their opposition. They both knew psychology could be just as vital in a fight as anything else, except perhaps your weaponry of course.

"Come, don't keep us waiting, it'd be awful rude to do that to a guest after all."

She stepped through the portal backwards, beckoning with wide eyes, in the most pathetically desperate, sarcastic and pleading way she could think of at Maleficent and Hades to follow. After all, it did to show your hosts respect.

 

Maleficent started to smile as her & Hades started to walk into the portal, going straight to the Coliseum. "Hm. Let's show you the errors of your ways. How can you possibly stand a chance to Me, ME! THE MISTRESS of ALL EVIL!!!!" Lost souls started to fill up the stands, ready to see them fight & cheering for Hades. "That's it! Come on down! Your soul shall be mine once all of this is over!!!"

Akiki & Kairi started to go straight to the student admission stand, getting Akiki to be a first year at the school & for her to go to her room. "Your room is 916 on the right. I hope you get along with the others. I have some things to do so you just go on ahead & walk around if you like. I'll take full responsibility for you. I have a meeting to go to, so I'll see you later." Akiki looked at Kairi as she left & she looked back at her pets & wondered how long she'll stay at the academy. "Oh well. I wonder if this school is fun like my old one." AKiki started to walk around until she saw two kids like her (Sarah & Will.). "Um... hello..."

 

"You know the rules of a duel? We take ten paces away from each other..Then we attack each other as quick as we are able." Yuni said slowly, delicately.

"Of course, duels are one against one!" She quipped. Dropping to one knee, an arrow was notched to her bow, and it sung as it flew toward Hades head. At the same time she hit Motx's right shoulder firmly, a signal.

The battle had begun.

 

Hades & Maleficent started to smile as Hades went after Yuni & Maleficent went after Motx. "Can you take the heat?" Hades started to summon a fireball in his hand & send it flying straight for Yuni. "Heheheeheh.MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Maleficent took her staff & send lightning bolts straight at Motx, waiting to bring him to his demise...

 

"Lightning. Such a simple power." Motx muttered. His back was to Maleficent. He spun around, swinging his sword down at Maleficent. The tip of the blade was just inches away from hitting Maleficent. The force of Motx's attack pushed Maleficent back and caused a big hole in the ground. Motx flew into the air.

 

After spending several ours in the library Dante put down yet another book and came to one possible conclusion, "Damn, never noticed how much I hate reading"; This thought traversed through out his mind as picked up yet another book. This constant barrage of self torture made him feel as if he really was real or at least pretended to be, though he could at least admit that knowledge was invaluable especially when facing an opponent as unpredictable as a keyblade wielder....or at most an experienced keyblade wielder.

Even with all these books, Dante wasen't about to fool himself; he would never really read all of them just get about half way through and then dump them. He mostly prefers to learn things hands on. But even so he was bursting with curiosity as to see the extent of their abilities

As boldly as he started reading Dante got up a devilish smile on his face and simply vanished through another portal leaving a messy pile of books in his wake.

Dante's portal re-opened before the prestigious academy itself "Time to do a little recon". This thought quickly fell into play as the white remnant cloak covered his armor and the hood his face. He vanished in a flash (basically a very similar version of a flash step from bleach) examining every area his eyes where laid on, as quietly as he could.

 

"Ignorant fool!" Maleficent raised her staff, making thorns wrap around Motx & slowly bring pain to him as the thorns pierce into his body. "Swords are such a simple weapon. it is a pity." Maleficent raised up her staff once more & send a powerful lightning bolt head straight for Motx, waiting for the blow...

 

"Simplicity is a state of mind." Motx said, dropping the sword. The center orb glowed, opening up a portal above Motx's head. The lightning went into it, transporting somewhere else.

Motx gritted his teeth from this idea he had to get out of the thorns. Using his flight, Motx pulled away from the ground and the thorns. They started to snap out of the ground. The ones that were deeper rooted into the ground started to dig into Motx's skin. He felt the thorns go deeper and deeper.

With one last pull, Motx ripped out the last thorn from the ground. Blood fell from his open wounds. Motx's sword flew into his hand. "Curaja." Magic energy flowed around Motx, curing all his wounds. "Come on Maleficent. While you're casting the spells, why don't you explain how you cast them?"

 

Yuni flew sideways as a ball of fire ripped up the ground where she had been a moment before. Hades was advancing upon her, but this time she was ready. "Winds, the fire tells me it is greater than you. Show it true strength.."

A maelstrom began to rumble in the air - but it would take several minutes. Yuni leapt against the stadium wall, and catapulted herself off again, launching one arrow at Maleficent and one at Hades.

 

Hades started to laugh as the arrow aimed at him, but he didn't move at all, letting the arrow hit him & smile. "OOOO! That felt good!" Maleficent smiled as she turned into a green ball & went behind Yuna. Maleficent then went back into her human form. "Aw. You shouldn't have. I thought it's one on one against the opponent that we're supposed to be facing." "Rules are made to be broken love." "Yes. Let's make this fight a little more interesting." Maleficent started to summon Darkballs & Defenders heartless & ordered them to team up against Yuni. "That's the price to pay for breaking the rules! MWAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA!" Hades smiled as his whole body started to get red. "It's time to feel the heat." Hades flew to the center of the arena & shot out flamethrowers from both of his hands & started to spin, hitting Motx in the leg...

 

Yuni spun on the ball of one foot, and sank arrows into each of the Heartless. Vermin. she thought.

She checked her quiver. Three arrows left. Well, she'd best make them count. The storm was still brewing, and becoming angrier every moment. She dodged another flame jet, and leapt toward Motx.

"We need not defeat them yet, merely keep them busy. I can taste the air, and it isn't happy. Bringing Hades, and his fire, was not a choice Maleficent will think back well on."

"Of course." Motx said, hitting the fire off of his leg. "Although Hades calling Maleficent 'love' is slightly disturbing. If only I knew how Hades controlled his fire. I'd defeat Maleficent quicker." Motx held out his hand. A small fire started to form in his palm. "And it wouldn't hurt to learn how Maleficent did her magic. The lightning sounds a little fun right now." Motx saw Hades' flame get nearer again. Motx slashed against it, stopping the flame just short of hitting him and Yuni.

The orb on his sword glowed again, opening up several portals all around the arena. "Get ready to shoot into some of the portals. I've got the plan already set up."

 

Maleficent was smiling as she raised her staff up. "METEORS OF HEAVEN!!!! UNLEASH THY FURY!!!!" Dark Meteors of dark magic came from behind her, going all over the area & aiming for Yuni & Motx. The crowd started to be amazed by Maleficent's powers & started to scream for her. Hades started to smile & made another fireball appear in his hands. "THIS IS FUN! LET'S TURN UP THE HEAT EVEN MORE!!!" Hades threw three fireball at Yuni & shot a small fire bullet at Motx...

 

She giggled when Motx made the joke about Hades and his 'love', and it brought old memories out of hiding.

She was a little girl, lost, alone, innocent. People bigger than her were her best friends. She would never do anything to any of them!

Bloodshed? I would never kill something! Let alone someone! She remembered thinking that, in the time when Things Were Otherwise. Then she was a little older, and there was a beacon of hope, of refuge. And it shunned her away. She snapped out of her stupor.

Yuni kicked hard at the ground with her legs, flying backwards several feet, out of the range of Hades fireball and Maleficents meteors of magic.

She notched an arrow to her bow, and mocked trying to find an opening in Hades defences. She kept the drawstring tight and circled him, as a panther does it's prey.

 

"Right into the trap." Gerik thought to himself as he jumped back. He jumped over one of the portals his sword created. The meteors went through the portal instead of hitting Gerik.

The meteors came out of another portal. The portal was directed at Maleficent and Hades. Maleficent's attack was now going to hit them instead of Motx and Yuni.

 

Now she understood! Yuni loosed an arrow into a portal that nothing had gone through, another direction for a threat to come from! A fact.

Every one of them was slowly getting weaker. Another fact.

The maelstrom was getting stronger though, and wind and water weren't good for a lord of Death and Fire. Or for anyone, for that matter. A beautiful fact indeed.

If they could just buy a few more minutes..
