"Fenery Village it is then." Gerik said before Ayries grabbed his hand.

"You say that, and yet I have a feeling you just wanna hold my hand." Gerik smiled. "Bet you can't prove me wrong." With that Gerik quickly dashed ahead of her, going ahead so Ayries wouldn't smack him or anything.

"Fenery Village, huh? I wonder what that place is like. Shouldn't be too bad or anything. After all, this continent seems to be pretty normal. The rumors I've heard with the continents to the west though, that's another story. What was it I was told? That several empires are at war with each other. I wonder how we're gonna get past that if God's Gem isn't on this continent. We'll have to keep a low profile, that's for sure."

"Oh you caught me now ! I want to hold your hand all night long for the rest of our lives ! " she shouted back at Gerik, giggling uncontrollably. She ran back up next to him and continued walking along the winding path that would eventually lead to the outskirts of Catara. Ayries felt like telling Gerik a bit about Fenery Village because he's probably never been there before.

"Fenery Village is a cool place, last time I checked. It's a water mill type of area, you know ? There's like maybe 200 to 300 people who live their and they all live quite comfortably and are friendly beyond belief. The villages' power is generated by a huge water mill found in the center of Fenery. It's the biggest one I've ever seen before... My dad took me up there once when I was 9. The only thing that seperates Fenery Village from Mesmera is the Cherry Wood forest. It's fairly big but there's a path that leads from one end to the other." she said, feeling even more like a tour guide.

"I've never been past Fenery Village because my dad was afraid that I'd get lost in Cherry Wood. It's supposed to be beautiful this time of year. It's called Cherry Wood because of it's large population of Cherry Blossom trees."

As Ayries said this they had finally reached the outskirts of Catara and we're not following a gravel path that would lead to Fenery Village.

"It's going to take us around five hours to walk there, which means that we should arrive at the village around supper time. The walk will be easy, all there is between Catara and Fenery in grass. No mountains or anything to hike over."

    >Wait so God's Gem isn't on this continent ? That means we'll need a boat to get to the other one right ? I'm going to have to make two maps >_< <

    >I'm not sure where God's Gem is gonna be located. I haven't decided if it's gonna be just lying about somewhere or if it is someplace special that has a few requirements to get to. Probably gonna be the second one.<

"Wow... The way she flips sarcasm is just... I almost believed her. Gerik thought to himself. "Wants to hold my hand forever. Admittedly the lie is a little too big. But since we're saying this in humor, I don't think she was trying to make me believe her. At least she's smiling now. That's good."

"How convenient. Cherry blossoms only flourish for a week or so, and we'll get there in time to see it. That's actually really nice. And the walk sounds nice as well."

The pair walked over a small hill. Once they were at the top, the land ahead of them seemed to open up. Green fields as far as the eye can see. A gentle breeze went by the two of them, as if something was signaling them to go ahead. "Wow... So this is what the outside world is like."

"It's beautiful, isn't it ?" Ayries took a large refreshing breath in and couldn't help but admire the world around her.

"The air out here feels so different from that in a city or town. It's pure and clean. I could honestly live out here forever." She admitted still taking in the fresh breeze and the beautiful scenery. As they continued to walk a long the grass, heading West the entire time, Ayries realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to get to know each other even more.

"So Gerik, it's going to take us a while to get to Fenery Village so we might as well get to know each other, you know ? It's also going to be a long time before we're able to hunt down God's Gem and it would be nice if we weren't strangers. I want to know you like the back of my own hand. Tell me as much about yourself as you can. Don't be shy." she said, still with a smile.

    Alyss Copper

I can't believe she left me alone, while she gets to go on some sort of adventure. It isn't fair, Alyss thought bitterly. She had resented her older sister, Ayries, for quite some time and couldn't stand the fact that she had to stay back in Catara.

As she was rolling around in her bed, still cursing about her current situation, Alyss heard a person creep into her room. The person took light steps and when she turned to face the stranger Alyss noticed how a dark persona floated around her and how beautiful the woman was. As if noticing the young girl looking up at her the the lady said,

"So she left you behind, hasn't she ? Would you like to know why, dear Alyss ?"
In a bit of shock Alyss replied, "You know my name ?"
"Of course I do, you're a very special girl. You don't want to stay around Catara do you ? Do you want to know what your sister is up to ?" The stranger said with a sweet yet sinister voice.
    "Umm.. Yeah..."
"Well then come with me." The lady extended her hand to Alyss, who in turn grabbed it and pulled herself forward; with no clear sign of letting go.

"I could've sworn that we went over this 'tell each other about yourself' thing before. Like... This morning. Maybe Ayries is the forgetful type? That'd be really bad, especially if she just woke up one day forgetting everything that has happened so far. She'd probably scream at me, saying I kidnapped her. Then she would probably slap me and run off.

"Sadly my life isn't exactly something full of awesome adventures yet that I could make a good story out of. This is my first time traveling anywhere, my life has been fairly peaceful, I once dived really deep in the ocean trying to impress somebody. My life is full of non-impressive things like that."

"Well you already told me that ! I wanted you to go more in depth with me. I can't even write a page about the things I know about you with that kind of information. Not that I'd write something involving you or anything." Ayries sighed, then added, "I was just hoping you could let me in a little more, but whatever." She kept walking in a sulking manner, but once she realized that it was really no use Ayries decided that she might as well start up a conversation or atleast talk about herself since that's really what she knows the most about.

"Well, I think you know a fair bit of things about me. I'm a fairly average girl who grew up close with my father, as you might have noticed. He loved showing me different places and teaching me a lot of things; I miss him dearly. My mom was more quiet and reserved. She mainly dealt with the cooking and the cleaning but on rare occasions she'd tell my sister and I some stories before we went to bed. Both of my parents were very loving, I wish that I was more like them. You know already that I'm a little hot-tempered and get frustrated easily at times. I mean well, I truly do, I just don't handle some situations very well." she began laughing at this and wondered if Gerik ever thought that she was crazy.

"You know what I just noticed ? I left Catara and didn't even bother quitting my job !" Ayries proclaimed a little too enthusiastically. Man I'm a rebel...

"Even if you wanted to, I don't know why anybody would want to write anything about me. I've lived a simple boring life. I mean, I suppose you could write something if you're into that kind of thing, but the only things interesting to write about would hopefully be this adventure. I mean, sure it could be entirely uneventful, but I have a feeling fun stuff will happen along the way."

"I know. You're one of those people who are... Not quite crazy or bipolar, but similar. One who tends to show one personality to the majority of the world, and another different personality to those who you are close to. I suppose that means only Alyss has seen this other personality. I suppose that would be a goal of mine on this trip then. Get you to reveal that softer side of you that nobody else sees."

"What happens if I don't have a soft side ? " she inquired. "What happens if I only vary from mean to slightly cruel ?" Ayries giggled over this before adding, "My parents were as sweet as can be, but that doesn't mean that I am also. You haven't known me for a long enough time yet to know if I have a gentle side or not. Awh, I do mean well though. I frankly never thought of myself as being crazy or bipolar." she looked over at Gerik before asking, "Where did bipolar even come from ? I demand to know why I'm 'not crazy and not bipolar' yet similar to it. You're a brave one to suggest something like that."

Ayries continued to walk a long the path, but put more space between her and Gerik. I'm no where near bipolar. My God, people actually get medicated for that one ! He just doesn't know me, that's all. I'm just high-strung, she thought. As she continued to walk, she wondered how much longer it would take before they got to Fenery Village. Sure, the outdoors were pretty and the breeze was simply delightful, but there was nobody else to talk to other than Gerik, who thought she was similar to 'bipolar'.

"How much longer do you think it will be before we get to Fenery Village ?"

Gerik laughed. "It's just one of those feelings I get near you. You can be incredibly sarcastic and mean, and yet at the drop of a hat you'll suddenly giggle. That's how you're similar to being bipolar. Maybe you're just this way around me. Maybe you're just full of energy and I'm a target to release all that energy into. And now you're trying to get away from me because I said that you're similar to a crazy person." Gerik sighed at the last part. "Oh, and if you really don't have a softer side, then I suppose I'll have to help you create one."

"Hmm... I don't know. Maybe an hour or so still. We haven't been walking for too long. It all depends on the pace that we walk."

"Wait, what ?" Ayries couldn't contain herself from laughing this time around; She was practically bursting at the seams. "You're my target for releasing built-up energy AND you're going to help me create a softer side ? Let me be the first one to tell you that those things sound so wrong ! I know you don't mean it that way but--" Ayries was unable to keep a straight face and she continued laughing over this for a few moments. Once she was able to calm herself down a bit she wrapped her arms around Gerik for a second, looked up at him and said, "You make me laugh." Ayries then let go of him and continued walking along at her usual pace.

He's going to think that I'm so strange. I don't know how he'll survive traveling with me, she thought.

Ayries wasn't fond of the idea of walking for another hour or so, but it wasn't that bad. All in all it was a nice day out and her companion wasn't that terrible. When she was looking at the scenery all around her she came up with another question that she'd like to ask Gerik. Surely he would have an answer for this. "Hey Gerik, when you grow up where do you want to live and why ? Also do you want a family or do you plan on hunting things down for the rest of your life ?"

Gerik was suprised when Ayries hugged him. His face started to turn a little red. "Umm... Yeah... Well, what can I say? I like it more when people laugh."

"A suprise hug huh? I swear Ayries is screwing with me or something. Or maybe she actually is a little crazy. Gotta stay on my toes then. I can't let her keep on suprising me like that. I'm gonna get a heart attack or something one of these days."

"I've never actually thought about that." Gerik answered her. "Since this is the farthest I've ever been away from home, I don't know of any places that I would ever consider living in. I suppose I could continue hunting things down though. After all, once I find God's Gem I'll pretty much be the most famous treasure hunter in the world. But then again, I would like a family one day. Have a nice wife, with children who are always happy to see me. Just living a simple and happy life."
