Personality: Unlike her leader and many of her subordinates, Akira is very much in control of her emotions and actions. Of the majority of the Left Hand’s membership, she is perhaps the clearest thinker, and a far more accomplished strategist than most, being able to calculate not only combat tactics, but also diplomatic ones as well. She is calm, collected, and very confident on either ground. Yet she maintains a cold and cutthroat approach when dealing with situations, regardless of their manner, and uses her powers and words to achieve the end result, even if it means taking an underhanded route. Much like her allies, she currently desires to see the safe haven of Great Britain falter, though for very different reasons. Even with the difference in reason, her desire binds her to a loyalty to Masamune, and she does what she can to keep his intensity and aggressiveness in check enough to keep the Left Hand’s chain of command stable.

Background: Akira has been in association with the vagrant Date Masamune since her early teens. At a time, the two were friends, Akira being the proverbial anchor that kept Masamune from getting in over his head on numerous occasions. Believing his outrageous attitude and demeanor to be the result of vibrant, youthful energy, she preserved a careful association with the boy. She was determined to grow him into a more controlled and reasonable individual, a desire that blossomed out of a genuine concern for his well-being. However, her expectations that his personality would level as he grew older, however, proved to be false. The rambunctious child that was Masamune grew into an aggressive and borderline unstable young man, whose temper was set off, at times, by the most menial of transgressions.

With the infections spreading world over, and the ESPer genes taking root in both herself and Masaumune, Akira began to channel her efforts into uttering a little more restraint over her childhood friend. She followed him in aligning with the Left Hand of Justice, a criminal organization of ESPers who all desired to see a collapse of the civilized world. Though with some regrets, Akira engaged in the actions of the Left Hand, and quickly became popular amongst its members for her businessman and politician sort of demeanor. Gaining great support from those who wished to use more underhanded diplomacy to create conflict rather than engage in open war, she mounted a status as a leader amongst her circles. Eventually, she came to be recognized as a chief commander in the Left Hand’s operations.

All the while, she had been separated from Masamune. At the time, she was unaware that he had built up a reputation of his own. Fortunately, news traveled very quickly through the underground, and the Left Hand’s grunts passed her all of the information that she needed. She learned that Masamune’s aggressive nature had earned him great fame in open combat, and that his powers had flourished into a frightening and destructive force. She became worried when she was informed that his body possessed an anomaly that allowed him to harbor and control the infection that had taken out so much of the world, and use it to morph himself into a monster at will. She learned later that his fierceness and physical abnormality had gained him a seat of power, as the fear that many had of him resulted in him assuming a position of leadership.

Her worries only mounted higher when news reached her of his murder of his own brother. However, it wasn’t until she came across Masamune’s mother that she realized there was a danger to be leashed. Seeing the fear of her former friend’s mother, she promised to tend to the wild child, and quickly made her way to Masamune’s hideout. Because she had often kept him from death’s door in their younger years, Masamune was quick to establish Akira as a close member of his “administration.” She became his leading advisor, and a strategic go-to as the Left Hand of Justice turned its attentions to the British Islands, which were protected by a powerful shield generator.

ESPer Ability: Telepathic/Empathic – Akira’s ability is a unique one in that it does not have any effect in the physical sense, but can have devastating consequences mentally (for both her and others). Her most widely used power is to relay information directly from her mind to the minds of others of her choosing. She is able to transmit her thoughts and perceptions allowing her to speak to her intended to receivers, show them visions of what she sees at a given moment, and even enable people far away to listen in on conversations she has. This ability doesn’t seem to be limited by distances, as she can effectively communicate clear across Europe with others, due to a readied telepathic ‘bridge’ that exists between her and those she has communicated with; it is known that the greater the distance, the longer it takes for the message to reach. However, she cannot use this power to communicate with people she has never telepathically linked to. She’s learned to go so far as to transmit false imagery to people, creating visions in her mind and sharing them with others for deception.

Other abilities include an eye-to-eye based mind reading ability, which enables her to peer into the thoughts of an unblocked mind so long as she can maintain direct eye contact with her target, and a level of persuasion ability that gives her influence over the actions of those she uses it on. She is also known to have a lower end empathic trait with her telepathy. Though she can’t readily influence the emotions of the people around her through direct mental contact, she is able to synthesize the cognitive properties of certain emotions and exert them into her environment. Much like the way being an electrically charged environment might make a person’s hair stand on end, being caught within the span of Akira’s ‘empathic field’ can result in adverse (or advantageous) mental states (anger, despair, joy, determination, etc.).

Weapons:

Martial Skills;Akira knows her way pretty well around martial arts (she’s had to, seeing as her ESP powers do little good in the heat of battle), and has proven particularly proficient in hand-to-hand combat. In light of this, she frequently makes use of such items as brass knuckles and the like to give her the extra edge in closed quarters.

Daggers; Akira keeps an assortment of throwing stars, knives and daggers (most of which are used as thrown projectiles) Amongst them are two twelve-inch blades that serve primarily as melee weapons. All of these weapons are concealed.

Pocket Handguns; at any given moment, Akira will be carrying a pair of pocket-sized handguns in concealment. They generally resemble downsized glocks that compromises on the number of rounds to allow it the maximum size of bullet. They generally carry six rounds of ammunition, and are usually better for deterring enemies rather than killing them out right.

 

I'd assume that those that know he's been captured will begin to make preparations to retrieve him. But then they might just leave him.
