The Dominion of Everything

"Caliber..." Raine started sighing. She felt bad she really did. She looked down turning her hand over looking at the mark. She turned it back over.

"Caliber... I'm really sorry..." Raine said laying her hand on his arm as the sleeve began to rip with something sharp. She quickly repeled backwards her keyblade appearing. 'What's going on?' She yelled mentally to herself partially taken back by what was happening to her friend.

"Caliber!" She exclaimed quickly hopping up and examining the scene. Ice was forming and sharp claw like structures began tearing from his sleeve. "Caliber, what's going on?" She asked him afraid for her friend.

 

"So where is Sora. Where're we headed Kain?" Mickey asked.
"Somewhere called Tokyo Tower." Kain answered. Mickey did a little searching on the ships' computer before adjusting their course. "Sora is being held at the top floor, guarded by various enemies from multiple worlds. We're going to have a hard time."
"Don't worry Kain, we can handle it. And with some luck, we'll be getting some back up from an old friend of mine." Kain asked who and Mickey chuckled. "Sora's daughter, Raine." Kain was shocked to hear his old friends' name, but he kept his composure. In his head he was praying to the three goddesses of Hyrule that he meant some other Raine, Kain wasn't ready to face any of his old friends.

Intrio growled as his finger was zapped. To him it was nothing more than an extreme static shock. The beam coming at him though was different though, even he could tell that. Intrio rolled to the side, barely though as he could hear the buzz from the electrical attack. Intrio was about to retaliate when a voice began speaking in his head. "Master Intrio, we've captured the traitor and he told us the intruder stole some info off the castles computer" Intrio stopped and started to slightly flap his wings to stay in place.
"What info? And kill the traitor."
"The location of someone named Sora" Intrio roared in his rage as he was told. He turned his head to Xohka and yelled.
"Something far more important than you has come up. So I'll leave you with this small parting gift." Intrio held his head up and began breathing fire. But this was different, instead of shooting off into the sky the fire gathered forming an immense sphere of condensed flames. "Dragon Nova" Intrio shouted as he whipped the ball at Xohka. He didn't even bother to see if he would survive as he angled his wings and started flying at top speed. He captured Sora, he wasn't about to let him go.

 

Raine looked at him and slowly stood up but all she felt was a wave of darkness push her down again. She had the power of her mother in her for sure, power of a princess of heart. She stood up again though showing more of her father's side. She looked at her friend.

"Caliber..." Raine stated. She closed her eyes 'please give me some sort of answer...' She thought. "About what you were saying earlier..." Raine started to say.

 

"Caliber..." Raine said to him standing up and walking up to him and laid a hand on him as it became instantly cold.

"You can be saved I know we can do something, you can't give up now." Raine told him. She looked at him and had to pull her hand away due to how cold it was on her hand. She looked at her friend. "Come on Caliber..." She pleaded with him.

 

"I really don't know... what were you going to say...?" Raine asked him. She bit the inside of her lip. Here was the best friend of her entire life, pratically her brother a person who she had infact fallen in love with before and loved her and then there was Jaden a dead boy she met once 3 years ago, a more love at first site sort of thing with no idea if he loved her or not. She was torn she closed her eyes as old memories played in her head.

 

Continuing memories...

"Caliber!" Raine ran accross the beach. "Guess what!" The excited girl jumped up and down.

"What?" Caliber jumped up already knowing from her father telling him.

"I get to go to Disney Castle and become a knight, maybe I could get a keyblade then!" Raine stated excited. Caliber frowned looking down at the ground before noticing that Raine stopped jumping. He quickly looked up looking at her frowning.

"Why you frowning?" He asked her.

"Because you're sad..." Raine said looking down. Caliber quickly smiled.

"I'm sad because I'm going to miss you, but I'm happy you get to go! This is your entire dream!" Caliber quickly cheered up.

"Well then I won't go, I don't want you sad..." Raine said looking down again. Caliber held her chin up to look at him.

"No, you've wanted this, this is your dream come true, don't go throwing it away because of me." Caliber said to her. Raine smiled at him and Caliber smiled back before he knows it he's embraced in a hug by Raine.

Caliber was caught by surprise but goes and returns the hug. The two broke apart from the hug. Caliber smiled at her and saw her crying.

"What's wrong now?" He asked her before she wiped a tear away.

"I'm going to miss you." Raine said. Caliber smiled but felt tears roll down his cheeks as well. He shook his head.

"No only I'm allowed to miss you." Caliber said. Raine shook her head before embracing him in a hug again crying in his chest.




Another memory began playing...

Raine sat in her room at Disney Castle. She has just had a long day of work. She walked over to her desk and saw a pile of mail sitting there. Mail from mom and dad, some other friends on the islands, she threw them all down on the desk too tired to read them before one letter slid out of the pile.

'To: Raine
From: Caliber'

Raine quickly picked up the letter and quickly opened it up. She fell back on the bed and began reading the letter.

Dear Raine,

I wish you were here on the island, I miss you a lot. I know that you must be enjoying yourself. I hope training is going well. Your dad said you may be come home for a vacation soon, if so we definately should go swimming or something.

I've been training with my dad, as you know I've started getting dark powers, my dad's helping me with them, I hope I won't have to ever use them. Well, not much has been really happening on the island though, it's always the same old same old.

I can't wait for us to go hang out again, it's so boring without you. Oh do you know about the papou fruit legend, well if you share one your destinys become intertwined so some girl keeps going on and on about, but aparently your mom said if you carry a lucky charm in the shape of the fruit it's like an unbreakable connection. I have one and now you have one!

Can't Wait for you to come back, Caliber


Raine opened the envelop more as a keychain with a white and blue star shape fell out of the bag and onto her lap. She held it up and smiled as she stuck the charm in her pocket.



End of memories...


Raine opened her eyes and remebered the star shape lucky charm, she never did loose it. She pulled it out of her pocket remembering all about it. She looked at it and then at Caliber.

"I was wondering what you were going to say..." Raine started to say holding the charm in her hand unaware of the mark on her hand from Jaden's sword slowly(means very, very slowly, pratically unoticable of it fading) fading away

 

Raine felt the train shift as she fell forward landing on Caliber and quickly sitting up blushing. Raine looked at Caliber still blushing.

"I love you too..." Raine said blushing. She looked away and from that moment she forgot about her love for Jaden, she loved Caliber, there was a better connection between the two. She looked at Caliber seeing all the ice melted and his skin regaining color.

Oddly enough Raine felt more comfortable with Caliber than she did Jaden, there was a better bond, a much stronger relationship with a guarantee relationship that both of them loved each other. Jaden was just a middle school crush, and a good friend.

 

"Um, Mickey? Could I ask you something?" Kain asked. They were now over the Pacific Ocean, above the clouds. Below them were storm clouds of black energy and red lightning, just another point of corruption caused by the Syneptophy.
"Sure Kain, what is it?"
"The Raine you mentioned; is this person a girl with brown hair, a talking insect, and one of those key weapons you have?" Kain asked, desperately hoping for a no.
"That's Raine alright. You know her?" Mickey asked. Kain sighed, he had kept his involvement to the event three years ago from Mickey. They had met last year after Mickey had just escaped Intrio's minions. Kain had helped him and the two had been together ever since. While Mickey freely spoke about the past, Kain had avoided the subject entirely. Now he felt he had to come clean.

"Listen, your majesty, I've been hiding something you should know."
"What?" Kain sighed, he didn't like his past.
"I know Raine. I was there with her and another when the chosen, Jaden, died. I couldn't do anything to help, I only got in the way. When Jaden died, I ran scared instead of helping the others. I'm ashamed to even say I knew them. I mean, they are heroes while I'm... I'm just the coward that ran away." As Kain finished he was looking down at his feet. He couldn't bring himself to ask Mickey to forgive his actions and he wouldn't have blamed him if the mouse ejected him from the ship right there.
After a long few minutes Mickey spoke. "What you did then doesn't matter now. You ran but if you didn't then would you have become who you are right now? Kain, you truly regret your past but it doesn't matter in the slightest. What really matters is that you're here now and you're not running. You're doing the opposite and you're putting yourself in even greater risk by actively opposing evil. So don't worry about what was, just focus on what is."

Mickey's wordsmade Kain happy, the mouse king didn't care that he ran. He still trusted him and wanted his help. Kain wiped away a couple tears that had welled up in his eyes. "Thank you."
"Don't worry about it. If I know Raine, she'd probably say the same thing. Now let's hurry."
"Yeah, we need to save Sora."

 

Raine felt the kiss and she kissed back. The cool breeze flowing accross the planes of Idaho blowing her hair in the wind made her 10x's as beautiful. She broke away from the kiss and looked deep into Caliber's eyes.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all those years ago but I'm glad to be here now." She said kissing him again.




Meanwhile...

A man stood over a crystal ball looking down at the image of Raine and Caliber. He turns around walking away smiling. He turns down the hall. Chains could be heard as if someone was struggling against them. The man turned into a room and looked at a cage in the room attatched to the wall on chains was Sora struggling.

"Struggling will do you no good Keyblade Master Sora." The man told him. Sora looked up anger in his eyes.

"I sure hope I don't need to use the puppet." The man continued looking at the wall. Hanging on the wall was two wooden puppets, one wasn't painted the other was painted to look just like Sora.

The man was a puppet master, an evil human puppet master, he knew he was a creator and gave himself this power and joined forces with synetophy and another man named Matthias.

"You know Sora." The puppet master said picking up the Sora puppet and holding it by the wooden cross as it dangled. The chains around Sora dissappeared as the puppet master stand on the table. "I was thinking about that lovely daughter of yours. She's a lot like you, I wonder if she would do fine as a puppet as well?" The puppetmaster asked turning around standing the other wooden puppet on the table. It appeared to Sora as looking like Raine. The puppetmaster moved the puppet Sora's hand to the Raine Puppet.

Sora's arm move and Sora looked seeing Raine standing there smiling at him. Sora closed his eyes knowing it was an illusion.

"Kilm your tricks won't work on me. And leave my daughter alone." Sora yelled at him.

"Or what?" Kilm asked extending the puppet doll's arm as did the real Sora with his keyblade showing up. "You'll hit me with your silly keyblade?" Kilm asked. Sora looked at him angered by him.

 

Kain notched a few arrows on his bow as the cockpit of the gummi ship opened. He and Mickey had landed in Tokyo a few minutes ago, disgusted by what the Syneptophy had done. Tokyo was now pitch black with many of the buildings in ruins. At the bottom of Tokyo Tower was a crater filled with strange purple liquid, occasionally a bubble would form and pop releasing black smoke. Above the tower the clouds spiraled, giving the feeling that eventually the sky would drill into the ground. Kain and Mickey hopped out as Kain kept his bow aimed and ready wherever he looked and Mickey summoned out his gold keyblade. "Let's go."

The two quietly snuck through the ruined buildings, heading for the tower as quickly and silently as possible. After a few minutes Kain stopped and motioned for Mickey to look to their side. The mouse did and gasped at what he saw. To their right, on the other side of a few crumbled buildings, were a group of strange creatures. Some of them looked like wooden dolls with knives for fingers and red slits for eyes. Attached to their joints were strings that went up into the sky. The others looked like two undead joined at the hip. One carried a pile of gold coins in it's hollow chest while the other dragged a gold club behind them. Kain aimed his bow but Mickey held him back. "They haven't noticed us yet. Maybe we can slip bye without being seen." Kain nodded and the pair began slowly moving. Everything seemed okay until Kain accidentally kicked a rock and it banged into a piece of metal. Kain and Mickey froze when the creatures turned to see the source of the noise. They all pointed straight at the light pair and let out an unearthly wail as they charged. "Run!"

Here's pics of the enemies. I chose the puppet because of Dawn's villain and the other because of how it moves in game, like a puppet being jerked around by unseen strings.

Xohka escaped to another world through his portal before Intrio's attack hit. The problem, though, was that it was a last second thing and he had no idea where he was. He was in a dark alley, and around the corner didn't look to promising either. "Where am I?" he asked himself. He continued walking around to find out where he was. When he got out, he could see broken signs of Japanese characters. He could read it; it said Yokohama. "Geez, this place... what happened?" He jumped up and started flying over the wreckage. All he could see were destroyed buildings, and occasionally groups of people. Dead.

 

Matthias stood at the top of the Empire State Building, looking out to the city. Matthias chuckled to himself. "I hate enemies that don't cooperate." He already knew that Raine wouldn't follow him to the building. "I suppose I'm going to have to punish her for that. That boy with her. He's going to have to die. Low self esteem, nervous wreck... He'll be an easy target." The cold air around Matthias suddenly turned warm. "Intrio... Why would he let out such a giant blast of fire." The streets below him started to flood with water. "He melted Antarctica... Again." With a wave of his hand, all the water flowed back into the ocean. It collected at Antarctica and froze over again. "I hate walking in water."

Matthias snapped his fingers, showing an image in front of him. "Kilm, the girl is heading towards you. I'm assuming Intrio is on his way there too. I will arrive once the girl gets there. With the girl is a sorceress. She should make for a powerful puppet."

 

Raine looked at Caliber and held his hand as they walked through the field. Raine looked ahead and could see a few houses. She stopped being able to feel a powerful being of light in one of the houses.

"I think she may be in one of those houses." Raine told Caliber.



Sora was in silence in the cage of his prison, being played with as if he was a toy. Soon after a while Kilm hung the Sora puppet back up on the wall where Sora was returned to the wall as well.

Sora stood there for a long time. 'He's controling her emotions... what for though...?' Sora thought to himself. 'I wonder, I never did try light powers, I can only hope this works.' Sora continued thinking to himself. He closed his eyes.
