The Dominion of Everything

Raine stood up and watched him hop out to fight the creatures. She sighed.

"If you only knew the half of it..." She whispered also running out.

Her keyblade in hand. She looked at the creatures. What were these strange creatures?

She stood ready to attack. She quickly ran forward and began swining at the creatures.

 

Malisa warped in behind the two of them, holding what appeared to be a wax-paper bag of saltwater taffy.

"Is there a time when you aren't in trouble whenever I leave?" She asked, six spheres of energy surrounding her. Spears of raw magical power lanced out from these, piercing and killing all the creatures but one.

"Honestly, if I have to save your behinds every time I turn my back. . ." She sighed, popping a piece of taffy in her mouth.

 

The creatures that were defeated were replaced by new twilit.
"You have to defeat them consistently"
Caliber covered in black gas and his eyes turned black. He dashed and struck down all the twilit in a sonic boom. As the last one was defeated, the barrier crumbled away. Ashamed of his powers, Caliber entered inside the train with his hands over his face.

 

OOC: I though Malisa was suppose to meet up with shadow's character

Raine stood surprise, granted she didn't try hard so she felt a little shown up but shook the thought away.

"You've never changed, I've lasted 3 years attacked by synetophies constantly I survuved and I was just fine." Raine told Malisa and looked over at Caliber.

"Malisa, though do you think you can find Kainm" Raine asked the sorceress while heading towardss the train.

 

"Yeah, well, 'Keep your friends close but your enemies closer,'" Xohka quoted. "But the question is: who's who?" He dropped down to the floor a bit of a way from the two. "I smell a three-way-brawl coming. But that is only if you, Kain, wish to kill me too." His hands started crackling with electricity and a harsh wind from his wings blew out the light behind him, making him almost invisible except for the blue electricity. "And Intrio, you have literally become a fat lizard; can you even fly? I can take you both down and walk off without losing anything but a few enemies."

 

"You dare to insult me in my own castle? I'll burn you to ash you pathetic human!" Intrio shouted as he breathed fire at Xohka. As he did, Kain backed out. He was going to stay out of any unnecessary battles. As he did he saw a young servant waving him over from a hole in the wall. Kain took another look back to see that Intrio and Xohka were to busy fighting to notice him before he ran into the hole. The servant closed the hole behind him and sighed.
"Good, master Intrio didn't see you. Come on, I'll get you outta here." He said before he started to walk down the hall. He didn't get far though as Kain slammed him against the wall and held his sword to his throat.
"Master Intrio? Why should I trust you?"
"Because he ate my father last time he got angry and I want some small payback. Helping you gives me that." Kain was surprised, the young boy reminded him a little of himself. Kain let him go and took a step back.
"Fine but I can't leave yet. I need some info from the castles' control room." The boy nodded and the two headed off.

It wasn't very long before Kain was typing things on the computer while the servant kept watch. "Found it."
"What?"
"Nevermind that, if I don't get out of here alive it won't matter." Kain said before the servant led him to a secret exit near the kitchen. As the servant let Kain out, the Hylian turned around and held out his hand. "Come on."
"I can't."
"What?"
"I can't leave. If I do then this collar with instantly fire the spikes into my head. Goodbye warrior." The boy quickly pushed Kain before closing the door. Kain sighed but started running from the castle. He had a partner to meet up with.

 

"Ha!" Xohka laughed as he dodged the flames. "I always insult you." He saw Kain leave, but just thought about his back-up plan. "Now, looky here: the other guy just snuck away by your slave. Some s****y master you are. We're gonna end this here. Black Star DX!" Xohka shot a blast of darkness and destroyed a large portion of the castle. He jumped up and flew through it. His back-up plan: to beat up Intrio and use him while possibly killing Kain in the process. "Let's see who's the better flyer, fatty!" Xohka yelled as he accelerated through a blizzard that formed a while ago.

 

"Now you destroy my castle! I shall enjoy ripping the flesh from your bones before I kill you!" Intrio roared as he spread his wings and leapt into the air. "The cold does not harm me as I am warmed by my inner fire. You on the other hand, you'll have to choose between freezing or burning!" Intrio shouted as he fired off multiple balls of blue flame. As he did he also sped up so that he would get close enough to snap at Xohka with his massive jaws or crush him with his powerful claws.

Kain kept running until soon he saw a figure in the snow wearing a black furry coat. Kain ran up to him with a smile. "You got the information?" Kain nodded. "Then lets go. We need to save him before it's too late." Kain waited as his partner pressed a button on his suit and a small two person gummi ship came down. "I had to keep it flying, otherwise the thing would've froze in this weather." The cockpit opened and the two hopped inside. As the cockpit closed, the figure removed his hood revealing a rather large pair of ears and a mouse face. "Now let's go save Sora. Then we'll reunite with som old friends."
"Yes King Mickey, let's go." Kain said as the ship took off into the distance.

 

Matthias appeared near Raine. He casually walked by her. As he passed her, he held his hand out. As he did, the hand of his ghostly aura went through Raine. Once he was completely behind her, he was holding her soul out of her body. With his other hand, he pulled a part of her soul away from the rest. He cast the soul back into her body, still holding onto the smaller piece. "Here in my hands rests you connection to your keyblade. Without this in your body, you cannot call it to you, no matter how hard you try. If we were to fight right now, I would keep this away from your body. Just to force you to use that sword of Jaden's. But..." Matthias spoke as he tossed the soul piece behind him, back into Raine. "I won't do that right now. If you wish to fight me and give this world the chance to break free of our grasp, come find me at the top of the Empire State building. It is located here in New York." Matthias teleported away before they could react.

 

As Matthias appeared and ripped her soul apart she felt herself loose concious and regain it as she gripped part the ships haul her hand on her heart.

"No you haven't, you would need to have taken my heart which a heartless would have been born." Raine stated. When he threw it back at her.

He stated where he would be at before leaving. She shook her head. As both her keyblade and Jaden's sword appeared. 'New York.' She said to herself mentally and looked up seeing Jaden standing there shaking his head not to go.

"Raine." Raine turned her head hearing Jiminy and looked back up seeing Jaden gone. "Are you alright?" Jiminy asked her. Raine nodded.

"We're not going, we need to get connected with the others." Raine stated. "Malisa, could you go find Kain while Caliber and I go after Angel." Raine told Malisa.

 

Caliber raised his blade and ran towards Matthias but he faded away. He looked back at Raine after she told Malisa to go after Kain. He prefered that, due to him wanting to be with his best friend. He wanted to catch up and perhaps...he could tell her how he felt. He felt the darkness build inside his heart build from the surroundings. He could feel it mixing and churning; packing inside it. Perhaps if he told Raine, his heart might improve. He didn't want to tell Raine about his genetic problems but it was far worse than Riku. He entered inside the train and sat down on the brown leather couch.

 

Raine turned around and got in the train as it started pulling away again. She sat down on the seat and looked up at Caliber wondering about what had just happened. Sitting in the train too she could feel it in his heart. Pounding away wanting it to be released. It was one thing she gained the ability of being in the World of Remembrance, a being of light surrounded by beings of darkness, to feel the darkness.

"Caliber..." She started. She didn't know how about going to ask him about the darkness in him.

 

Caliber looked up at Raine with coal black eyes and he held her hand.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" he asked with a sharp tone of anger in his voice. He was angry at Matthias. Caliber wanted to kill him for hurting her. He stroked her hand with his finger, wanting the darkness in his heart to stop. He was afraid of what his father passed down to him. His dad could because he had practice but Caliber on the other hand did not. That was the main reason why Riku wanted his son to stay at Destiny Islands. He did not want him to be taken advantage of.

 

Raine was a little surprised by the sharp anger in his voice. Raine grabbed his hand.

"I'm fine, I'm not the same Raine you knew, remember I was under the king's apprentencship and trabbed on a world of Synetophy for 3 years. The question is, are you ok?" Raine asked Caliber looking into his eyes. It scared her some, not because of the darkness but the anger Raine could feel flowing through his body, the darkness that just wanted to be released.

 

"Who needs warmth when you got adrenaline pumped up inside you?"Xohka said. He dodged the fireballs and was met with the choice of Intrio's claws or his mouth. He grabbed onto Intrio's finger and shocked him with ten thousand volts. It only left a small burn, but Xohka was able to get away. He continued speeding up then nose dived towards the ground. He rolled to reduce impact and turned towards the dragon. He put his arms together with his palms pointing towards Intrio and charged up an electrical attack. "Thundaga Cannon!" he shouted and a blue beam of electricity shot towards his enemy.

 

The train started to chug through the streets of New York as Caliber sighed.
"No, I don't think I am"
He let go of her hand and looked out at the window.
"This is too much for me to handle. My father, Riku, was powerful with the darkness embedded into his heart but I'm finding it hard to control it. Do you remember that day at school when I summoned heartless by accident? I feel the same way like I did then but now its difficult to control it, even with my dad's help"
A shiver went down his spine as veins pulsed out of his neck like black thorns creeping out of a garden. Caliber held his head with his hands, crying into them. He did not know what to do. He had no control over this. Soon, he would have powers he would despise but he still had control of his overall actions. He looked up at his best friend.
"Please help me"

 

Raine looked at him as she saw the train go accross a bridge and they went accross a body of water. Raine looked at him.

"Well fortunately my dad was around to help." Besides I thought it was cool, we were young then, wasn't it elementary school that happened, I kind of thought it was cool you had powers like your dad." Raine said laughing some.

"I guess now they're not all that great." Raine said to him. She tried to cheer him up but she couldn't think how. He then asked for for help. Raine didn't have the slightest clue on how to help.

"Hey your dad couldn't control them neither, you probably have a little more control over them versus when your dad first got his." Raine told his friend.

"I guess the best way to figure how to control them is when they react what's going on with you?" Raine asked him. She began to wonder what may cause it.

Caliber looked her into the eyes. If his emotions translated to controlling his powers, maybe he should tell her how he felt about her. He cleared his throat and spoke to her, feeling his heart raise up to his neck. He started to clear that awkward feeling by clearing his throat out more but of course it failed. He blushed and with black eyes, it really stood out. He held her hand again.
"Raine, we've been friends for a long time and ever since you left, I have wondered about us..."
He didn't want to get to the point. He thought he gave her the idea.

 

Raine felt him grab her hand and heard what he said. She bit the inside of her lip hearing where he was leading.

"Yeah we have been friends for a long time, were pratically brother and sister." Raine said to him. She looked at the hand he held, the same hand with the apple mark on the palm of her hand, the same logo on Jaden's weapon, the weapon who belonged to a good friend of her's, a friend she fell in love with. She closed her eyes. Her thoughts bouncing everywhere.

Granted in middle school she had a crush on Caliber a middle school crush but when she grew older she didn't view him as a crush though more as brother and sister. He liked her though, what could she do, on the outside she kept herself calm and maybe a look of confusion on the inside she was screaming though.

 

Caliber during the seconds of silence took his hand away from her hand and looked out at the window, trying to focus his mind on something else. He wanted to bang his head on the wall and his emotions were even worse. He felt something spurt from within his arm. It was something sharp but it did not punch through his long sleeved shirt. He placed his hand on the window feeling the bitter cold that caused it to freeze over. Ice started to form around it and Caliber accelerated the process. What was he becoming?
