    Chapter 13: Betrayed

Jacob and Joey lunged at Celton and Dark both at once. Joey managed to get in between Celton and Dark and Dark swept his foot on the ground under Joey's feet, causing him to trip but as he was falling, Joey quickly grabbed Dark's arm. Dark, caught off guard, fell back with Joey and the two of them were knocked off balance and both of them rolled down the incline, toward the cliff with the whirlpool both of them fighting and struggeling to gain an advantage of the other. "Joey!" Jacob called, and ran to help his friend but Celton acted quickly, grabbing Jacob by the throat and throwing him against the wall with increadible force. Despite already knowing that Celton was an enemy, Jacob still looked at Celton with a shocked and hurt expression as he fell to his knees on the ground gasping. Celton only grinned "This is where it ends for you, nephew... or should I say, brother." he held Guardian Soul at the ready.
Jacob stood up, "Celton I know you can hear me." he said cautiously, he didn't want to have to fight Celton unless there was no way to bring him back "Is this who Destiny would want you to be?" Celton attacked with no hesitation, feinting to the right and jumping to an attack with lethal speed. Jacob only barely managed to block the attack with the Master Sword, Celton could see a very bright glow to the blade that he had to look away from. Jacob used that moment of weakness to toss Guardian Soul away, it impailed the floor a few yards away as Jacob kicked Celton in the face, causing Celton to stumble back against the wall. "Don't you see you're letting Dark Link win!" he yelled desprately.
Celton glared, wiping blood from his lip as he straightened up, "You just don't get it do you." he said, shaking his head. "There is no Dark Link, or Celton. We are both the same person. There is no double personality or dark being within me like you with Ganondorf or Kaiden. I AM darkness." Guardian Soul rose into the air behind Jacob's back while Jacob was too busy looking at Celton to notice. The blade was pointed right at Jacob's heart.
    ***
Kaiden growled and stuck his blade into the ground, causing his fall to come to a stop. Joey, however continued falling. He managed to catch his hand on the edge just before he would have fallen into the whirlpool, he held on to the edge for his life as he dangled over the dark wild waters. 'Ok... don't look down mate.' he thought to himself as he franticly looked for a way up. He could see Double Helix still on the ledge, too far away to reach. Kaiden laughed as he walked over to Joey and looked down at him, struggeling to keep hold of the cliff's edge. "Oh and look, the boy still struggles to prevail." he said with a sinister smile "How pathetic."
Joey ignored him, his hands beginning to hurt and the stone edge of the ledge was cutting into his skin. Joey could tell he couldn't hold on much longer but he couldn't gain enough concentration to teleport. Angry with himself, he tried to move his hand to gain a better grip.
    ***
Jacob shook his head, he didn't seem at all aware of the fact that Celton's sword was pointing right at his heart from behind. He just looked at Celton "Zelda told me that you were a good person."
Celton ignored his comment as his sword suddenly whistled through the air straight at Jacob's heart. Jacob noticed the sword just in time to jump out of it's way. The sword wizzed past Jacob, just barely skimming his shoulder. It was then heading straight at Celton. Jacob's eyes widened thinking that he had won as Celton's blade struck him right in the stomach, impaling the wall behind him with it. Celton grunted and looked down at the blade. Jacob stood up straight, looking alarmed but also knowing that Dark Link had to die. What he wasn't expecting was for Celton to reach down and take the handle of the blade in his hands and pull it out of himself. He stood up straight again, there was no sign of a wound on him, or the sword.
Jacob looked astonished and Celton smiled, again pointing the tip of the blade at Jacob.
Jacob didn't need Celton to explain how that happened, Celton was shadow so his own blade could not effect him. Only light would.
Celton grinned darkly "Let's end this."
Jacob nodded "It seems there is no other way." he said as he suddenly attacked. The two of them locked in a battle to the death. Their blades clashing together with deadly speed.
    ***
Joey yelled as Kaiden stepped on his hand. His hand slipped from the ledge, leaving him holding on with only one hand. Kaiden grabbed his sword and leaned over Joey with a dark grin "And now, you are the first to die." he said in a harsh whisper. With that, he rose his sword high over his head, ready to strike down at Joey and kill him.
Joey closed his eyes and bowed his head expecting his death to come. Just then, he saw something glow from the corner of his eye. He opened his eyes and saw, to his right underneith the dark water was something glowing brightly. Kaiden also noticed it and looked in that direction, forgetting about Joey. "Not today, mate!" Joey brought back his hand and punched Kaiden in the face while he was distracted. Suprised and hurt, Kaiden fell back and Joey grabbed the handle of Double Helix. He swung himself back on safe ground. He looked behind him at the cliff he had nearly fallen off of and then turned his attention back to Kaiden.
    ***
Celton sensed it when the Dawn of Midnight approached though he didn't see the glow of it. He knew where to find the crystal as soon as the dawn approached. He ducked under an attack by Jacob and then brought his elbow hard into Jacob's face as he came back up. "You're too late." he said with a smirk before he ran toward the edge of the cliff where Joey and Kaden were fighting. Jacob knew what was going on, Celton was on his way to get the crystal, to give it to Kaiden. "Oh no you dont." he muttered before he chased after Celton.
    ***
Joey dodged an attack from Kaden with only inches to spare. Kaiden teleported a few yards away and Joey also teleported to keep up. He felt all of the fighting plus the teleportation taking it's toll on his energy. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead and he could feel himself getting weaker. Kaiden laughed "Give up now, and maybe your life will be spared." he said. Joey attacked Kaden again with all of his strength "I would sooner die then surrender to you!" he shouted. Kaiden managed to bring up his blade in front of him to block the attack and the two of them were stuck in a deadlock. "So be it." Kaiden said as he pushed Joey back and brought up his sword for a killing strike.
In a blur of silver, Jacob's sword came in between Kaiden's blade and Joey with only seconds to spare. Joey looked from the sword, to Jacob, to Kaiden and then smiled a little "It's about time you showed up mate!"
Jacob nodded but he didn't have time to respond as Kaiden suddenly shot a blast of dark energy at both of them. Joey felt the wind get knocked out of him as he and Jacob fell to the ground.
    ***
Celton stood at the edge of the cliff looking down at the glowing stone benieth the water. Only the Hero's opposite can reach the crystal... he remembered, knowing what he had to do. He heard Kaiden walk up behind him "Get the stone, Dark Link. Fulfill your destiny as the Hero's opposite." he said.
"Celton, no!" he heard Joey call from somewhere to his right, but Celton would not look up, he felt the pull of the crystal at his heart. It was his destiny... his responsibility and his alone to get the Crystal that would sway the balance of all dimentions to either good or evil. He took one cautious step toward the edge of the cliff "You are right... Master Kaiden, it is my destiny."
    ***
Jacob acted on impulse as he suddenly ran forward and tackled Celton, knowing that he had to stop him from getting the crystal. Joey picked up Double Helix but Celton and Jacob were fighting so fast that he wasn't sure if he could attack Celton without hurting Jacob also in the process. Neither of them had any weapons so both of them were exchanging blows with their hands in unarmed combat. Blocking punches and kicks. Suddenly, Jacob just stopped fighting as Celton kicked Jacob square in the face, sending him reeling back. He gave Jacob a cold, dead stare before he turned back to the water's edge. Joey ran up to Jacob and helped him up "Why did you stop fighting, mate?" he whispered.
Jacob had a knowing look in his eyes "You'll see." he said breathlessly, looking at Celton expectantly.
Just then, Celton dove down the cliff into the water. Kaiden chuckled darkly as Celton hit the water and dissapeared under it's glassy surface. He looked at Joey and Jacob, "It is finished. Once my servant returns the crystal will be mine and then you will both die."
Jacob only folded his arms and said nothing. Joey looked at Jacob's unworried expression and glared wondering what on earth he was so calm about. Just then, Celton came back to the surface of the water and disappeared into shadow only to appear again directly next to Kaiden with a crystal coursing with black energy in his hand. "I have returned my lord. Here is the Midnight Crystal."
Kaiden reached out to take it with a sinister grin, but just then Celton seemed to break out of the trance "Jacob now!"

Chapter 14: Death is the Final Good-bye

“Jacob now!” Celton shouted, tossing the Crystal into the air. Kaiden looked at Celton is disbelief at what he had done. Jacob’s eyes followed the Crystal, moving forward to catch it. Time seemed to slow down. Kaiden noticing Jacob moving. Joey in awe over what had happened. Celton picking up his sword to stop Kaiden. Only Jacob seemed to be moving normal.
The Crystal was falling past the edge of the platform. Jacob reached out for it, but his fingertips grazed the surface of it. There was only one thing to do. Jacob broke out into a run, throwing himself over the edge of the platform.
He reached out just as Kaiden screamed out. Jacob gripped the Crystal in his hand. Suddenly, dark power flooded through him. A voice whispered, Hello young one.
    Who are you?
Jacob thought. He couldn’t feel himself falling. It was like everything had stopped.
I am the Midnight Crystal. What is it that you seek?
I wish to use your powers to trap the one named Kaiden.
    the Crystal chuckled.
Ah… Kaiden. What a feisty one. the Crystal replied. Jacob closed his eyes tight.
Can you help me? he thought.
For a minute, the Crystal didn’t answer. Jacob was growing tired. Can you help me trap Kaiden inside you?!
    You are a foolish one.
the Crystal commented. I cannot trap Kaiden inside me.
    WHAT!?
Jacob couldn’t believe it. Then how do we trap him if you will not help?
You do not listen. I told you that I cannot trap him inside of me. I did not say that I could not trap him.

Jacob was confused. What do you mean?
Jacob could have sworn he heard a sigh. You must know, first off, that I am not a prison. I am more of a gateway. A gateway from one dimension to another. Kaiden cannot be trapped in me, but I can direct him into another prison. Another body.
Wait… Are you saying that you can trap him?
Jacob… yes, I am able to trap him. But at the cost of another being’s freedom of his body. If you use me to trap Kaiden, then when you are touching me, Kaiden will be transferred to yourself. You will once again harbor Kaiden inside of you.

Jacob, who was now standing in a white room, looked at the floor. So, I will have that horrible excuse of a being inside of me?
    Yes.
Jacob held his hands up and looked at them. He closed his eyes, then opened them and looked up.
So be it. If it means the survival of all dimensions, then I will take the responsibility.
Jacob could have sworn he heard a smile in the Crystal’s voice. You are a brave young man. You are destined for great things. Suddenly, everything went black. Jacob opened his eyes yet again to find himself facing the dark whirlpool. He started falling again.

    ***

Joey watched his closest friend fling himself off the platform. He saw Jacob grab the Crystal and continue falling.
“Jacob!!” he screamed. He started forward, but was knocked away. Kaiden stood over him, sword raised high.
“Today, this ends!!” he growled, but Joey say Celton’s sword erupt out of Kaiden’s chest. He was flung to the side by Celton. Celton held his hand out.
“Go get Jacob! I’ll find a way out!” a huge pile of rocks came crashing down beside them. The Temple was caving in. Celton pushed Joey towards the edge. “GO!” he turned and ran after Kaiden.
Joey looked down at the whirlpool. “Jacob better appreciate me for this.” Joey said to himself, jumping off the edge, into oblivion.

    ***

“Look at you, acting like the hero.” Kaiden taunted, circling around Celton. Celton held the Goddesses sword tightly.
“You will not fool me again Kaiden. I know what you’re capable of.”
“Oh really?” Kaiden stepped forward and began swinging at Celton, who managed to block every attack. They locked swords and Kaiden got in Celton’s face. “What makes you think that you’re any better than me?”
“For one thing,” he pushed Kaiden back. “I am loyal to my friends and family.”
Kaiden laughed as the temple caved around them. “And what is loyalty? Eventually, everyone is betrayed. No matter what.”

    ***

Jacob fell faster, the whirlpool getting bigger. Strangely, he wasn’t afraid. He knew that if the Goddesses wanted him alive, he would be. Someone grabbed his hand. He looked back to find Joey behind him.
“Hold on mate!!!” Joey shouted. He closed his eyes, and once again, the world went black for Jacob. Seconds later, they were standing in Ordon Village.
“Joey, where is Celton?” Jacob asked, looking over at Joey. Joey looked down, and Jacob shook his head. “No… it can’t be true…” he fell to his knees.
“What can’t be true?” Jacob spun around to find Celton behind him.
“Celton?” Jacob and Joey both said. “How did you get out?”
“By using the powers of Dark Link, I traveled through a shadow. But we have bigger problems.” he looked at Jacob. “Do you have the Crystal?”
Jacob nodded and withdrew the Crystal from his pocket. It glowed with a blackness that matched the darkest sun.
“Good. Now, we need to find Kaiden. Now.” Celton closed his eyes.
“What’s the rush mate?” Joey asked. Celton spoke to him without opening his eyes.
“The Crystal will only stay with us for one hour. Then it disappears until the next dawn.”
Jacob sighed. “Great. So how are we supposed to find him?”
“It’s simple really.” the trio spun around to find Kaiden standing on a branch. He held someone in his arms. Who looked like…
“Abby!!” Jacob shouted. He flung the Master Sword at him, but it was harmlessly pushed to the side. It fell to the ground beside Jacob.
“Now now. We don’t want anything bad happening to her, now do we? Or to Destiny. Or to Whitney.” Joey’s eyes went wide.
    “If you dare hurt her…”
Kaiden smiled. “Don’t worry. I won’t. But if you want them alive, you will come to the top of Death Mountain.” he smiled and vanished in thin air. Jacob ran to the tree and began punching it.
“Give her back!!!” he shouted into thin air. Jacob fell to his knees and leaned against the tree, crying. Joey stepped forward and looked at Jacob.
“Mate?” Jacob looked up at him. “We will get them back. I swear.” he held his hand out to Jacob. “Me and you teleport there, and Celton shadow-jumps there. We will trap Kaiden inside the Crystal then.”
Jacob looked down at the Crystal. “That won’t work. The Crystal is a gateway. If we try to trap Kaiden inside it, he merely passes through it and goes into whoever is touching it.” Jacob stood up. “I will trap Kaiden inside of me. Like my ancestor did all those years ago.” he grabbed Joey’s shoulder. “Let’s go.”

    ***

Jacob opened his eyes again to find that he and Joey were standing on the edge of Death Mountain’s top. Kaiden was there also. Jacob drew the Master Sword and slowly walked around the ring that was the top. A drop beside him led down to the lava below. Joey drew Double Helix and walked around the other side. Kaiden stood there, smiling.
“Tell me, ‘Heroes’, how do you plan on doing this? The two of you alone will not be enough.” Kaiden shouted when Jacob and Joey reached him.
“You’re right.” Celton whispered. Kaiden spun around and was knocked to the side. Jacob jumped forward, sword in one hand and Crystal in the other, he started doing battle with Kaiden. Joey stepped forward to help, but Celton held him back. “This is Jacob’s fight.”
After a failed attempt at stabbing Kaiden, Jacob brought his sword down upon Kaiden’s with such might, that he nearly broke his arm trying to get through Kaiden’s defense. Kaiden pushed it aside and stabbed Jacob in the stomach. Jacob felt his sword slip from his hands. He could hear his comrades yelling his name, but that was in the distance. Kaiden leaned forward and whispered, “Death. It happens to everyone. Tell me, how does it feel?”
Jacob coughed up blood and whispered, “Why don’t you tell me.” he grabbed Kaiden’s wrist and brought him closer, the sword digging deeper into Jacob’s body. Kaiden looked afraid. Jacob withdrew the Midnight Crystal and plunged it into Kaiden’s heart.
Kaiden’s eyes went blank. Jacob tried pulling his arm back, but it would not come out. Kaiden closed his eyes, then they sprung open and he screamed out. His hands went flying to his head and he withered around, until he exploded into millions of little pieces. The Crystal could now be seen, glowing brighter. The little pieces of Kaiden began shifting towards the Crystal, melting into it and into Jacob. Jacob felt Kaiden inside his body once more. Sometimes you have to enter the darkness to save the light. he thought sadly. Just like that, it was over. Kaiden’s blade dissolved into thin air. But the wound was very real. Jacob fell to the ground.

    ***

“Jacob!” Celton ran forward when Kaiden had disappeared and knelt down beside the fallen hero. He looked over Jacob, noticing the huge stab wound inside Jacob. Celton looked at Jacob’s face and saw him smiling.
“H-hey… we b-b-beat k-Kaiden…” he struggled to say, coughing up more blood. Celton was at a loss of what to do. Suddenly, something came to mind. He placed his hand upon Jacob’s wound.
“Be healed…” the wound began to stitched itself up, until it was completely healed. Celton felt that it was harder to get any breath in his lungs. He looked down to find that he now carried the battle wound. Jacob looked up at him, horror in his eyes. Celton fell sideways and did not get up.
“CELTON!!!!” Jacob screamed. He rolled over onto his feet and picked up Celton. Celton wasn’t breathing.
“Mate…” Jacob looked up to find that Joey had found the girls.
Jacob fought back more tears. “He’s dead Joey. Celton is dead.”

    Chapter 15: The Last Farewell

"No!" Destiny screamed. She ran past Joey and Jacob moved out of the way as she knelt next to her fallen best friend. She felt nausiated and shocked seeing the blood that covered Celton. Tears burst from her eyes as she held his cold dead body in her arms but she knew it was over. No matter how much she cried, Celton was gone.
Jacob stepped back to stand next to Abby, Joey, and Whitney. The three of them watched with heavy hearts as the girl whispered her final goodbyes to her fallen loved one.
    ****
Link stared down at the dead body of his brother in the wooden casket and he just couldn't believe what he saw. It had been a few hours since Joey teleported back to Me'hem forest with Celton's dead body in his arms. Since then, Joey had gone back many times to get Jacob, Destiny, Whitney, and Abby. Durring that time, the villagers were already preparing Celton's funeral. Cold silence of greaf filled the village. He rested his hand on the edge of the casket and whispered "It's been an adventure bro..." before he stepped back and walked over to Destiny, who was standing in the corner of the room. She hadn't moved since Joey brought her back, she was looking down at a jade necklace with tears in her eyes as Link approached her. "Hey, you ok?" he asked her.
    ****
Jacob and Joey weren't sure what to do. Of course Zelda had also attended the funeral. She walked up to Jacob and Joey, unsure what to say to the two of them, she decided to say "So... now that all of this is over I suppose you two will be going home soon?"
Jacob nodded "Joey will transport us back home to our own dimension after the funeral is over." he said solomly.
Zelda nodded, she turned to walk away but then turned "I just wanted to say thank you to both of you." she said "It must have been a great sacrifice to you both, to trap that darkness in your heart and then watch your friend die. It means a lot that you would do that for Hyrule." she suddenly had a knowing look on her face. "It's too bad nobody gets a second chance, to change the past in such an unfortunate outcome."
Jacob looked a little confused, but Joey looked at Zelda with a knowing expression. Of course! Why didn't I think of it before!? he thought to himself as he suddenly turned and ran out of the room. Jacob looked between Zelda and Joey who was now outside with a confused look on his face before he followed Joey outside. "Joey!? Where are you going?" he asked. Joey turned and looked at Jacob "Zelda gave me an idea mate. I think I can go back. Remember what Din said? I can travel through 'Dimensions, space, and TIME!'." he said, already anxious to see if this new discovery would work.
The memory gave Jacob hope, "You really think you can stop this from happening?" he said.
Joey nodded "It's worth a shot mate."
Jacob nodded "Good, then I'm coming with you." Joey shook his head. "No mate. It takes less energy for me to go alone and I'm going to need my streingth to fix this. Go tell Link and the others where I went. Trust me, I can do this."
Jacob, at first, wasn't sure if he was ok with the idea of Joey going alone, but Joey's argument made sense. "Ok... good luck Joey."
Joey smiled "Thanks mate." he said before he disappeared.
Joey appeared again on the top of death mountain. He watched himself and Jacob from the past walk up to Kaiden from his hiding spot in a cave. It will make things harder if past me sees me. he thought to himself as he tried not to think about what would happen if he were to meet his past self. He watched as Celton appeared and attacked Kaiden and then after Celton stopped him from interferring with Jacob's fight, Joey had run off to find Whitney, Destiny, and Abby. Alright, it's now or never. Joey thought to himself as he drew double heilx and pulled his hood over his face. He jumped from his hideout and drove the tip of his sword into Kaiden's back just before Kaiden would have stabbed Jacob. Jacob, Celton, and Kaiden all three looked at the mysterious cloaked swordsman with shocked expressions.
No one had time to speak as Kaiden slashed out his sword at Joey in rage. Joey screamed as Kaiden's blade shashed deep into his sholder. Celton jumped forward and rammed his sholder into Kaiden's chest sending him flying back. "Ok, Jacob. Finish this!" he yelled at Jacob. Jacob nodded and then withdrew the crystal quickly jumping at Kaiden. Kaiden tried to dodge the attack but Jacob plunged the crystal into Kaiden's heart. Kaiden managed to push Jacob back, Jacob stumbled back almost falling off of the edge of the mountain but Joey and Celton caught him. Kaiden tried to pull the Crystal away but it would not budge. His eyes went blank and closed. When his eyes came open again, Kaiden screamed out as the Crystal took effect on him. His hands flew to his head as he fell to his knees, writhing on the ground as veins of power spread under his skin.
As all of this was happening, Joey slowly walked backwards while Jacob and Celton were distracted by the scene. This was the perfect opportunity to slip away without having to meet his past self. He disappeard just as Kaiden exploded into a million pieces. The Crystal could now be seen, glowing with a dark power that Celton was not suprised to see. The little pieces of Kaiden began shifting towards the Crystal, melting into it and into Jacob. Jacob felt Kaiden inside his body once more. Sometimes you have to enter the darkness to save the light. he thought sadly.
He was interrupted from his thoughts when Celton suddenly said, "Hey, where that guy go?"
Jacob looked at him, "Huh?" he said, but then he realized that Celton was right. He couldn't see the strange man who had helped them anywhere.
Joey's voice came from behind them and Celton and Jacob turned to see that Joey had found the girls. “I found the girls mate." Joey said as he and the three girls came up from one of the mines entrances. He studied the surprised and confused looks on Jacob's and Celton's faces. "What did I miss?" he asked.
    ****
Hours later, Celton, Jacob, and Joey were standing at the edge of Me'hem forest. "So, I guess this is it then?" Celton said.
Joey and Jacob nodded "We gotta go back home mate." Joey said. "Its where we belong. Besides, I kind of owe Whitney an explanation after all this."
Celton smiled a little "Good luck with that." he said.
Jacob nodded "It's been fun Celton."
Celton was about to answer but they were interrupted when a voice spoke from what seemed to be thin air. "No, I am sure you will not."
The three Goddesses appeared before Celton, Jacob, and Joey. "Well done, heroes of Hyrule." Farore said with a proud smile. Celton's eyes widened. "Farore you're...."
Farore laughed and nodded "Yes, and your brother and Jacob's father have also returned to their original strength."
Din said "In fact, all of Hyrule is back to normal again because of the outstanding sacrifices of you three."
"Not to mention all of its dimensions." Nayru added with a smile. "Now, it is time for you two to return home." she said to Jacob and Joey.
Jacob nodded "We are ready." he said.
The three Goddesses nodded "Good luck on the rest of your lives, heroes of all Hyrule." Nayru said before the three goddesses disappeared leaving the three alone again.
Celton suddenly looked at Jacob and Joey "Well, in a moment you will be ready to go. I have one final question I need answered." he walked over to Joey and before Joey could do much to stop him, he pulled aside the piece of Joey's cloak that hid his arm and just as he suspected, there was a rather nasty wound there. Jacob saw the wound and then looked at Joey "So, it was you that helped us after all." he said.
Joey nodded "Yeah. Actually, it's a long story mate." he said. "But to cut it down short, the battle didn't really end the way you two remember it. How it had originally happened, Kaiden stabbed Jacob and Celton healed him on impulse and died in the attempt when Jacob's wound was transferred to him. It was at Celton's funeral did Jacob, Zelda and I come up with the idea of going back and rewriting history mate."
Celtons and Jacob's jaws both dropped. "I was dead?" he said. Joey nodded. Celton thought it over for a moment and then shrugged "Well... I cant say this is the first time I've had this kind of experience so I guess I believe you. Thank you Joey."
Joey smiled "It's no problem mate. I know you would have done the same thing for me."
Celton nodded "Yup. And now I'm about to prove it." he said as he he held his hand over Joey's wound and before Joey could protest, he healed it. "The goddesses said that after all of this was over, we wouldn't remember any of this. Maybe when this heals it will scar and I'll have a little reminder of our adventure... even if I wont remember it." he explained as the wound appeared on Celton's arm where it use to be on Joey under the sleeve of his tunic. "And besides, you're going to need your strength to transport yourself and Jacob back to your own dimention."
    Joey nodded "Thank you, mate."
Celton only smiled in response and then stepped back "Well, Jacob, Joey. It's been interesting to say the least." he said with a smile.
Jacob and Joey smiled in return "Maybe we'll see each other again someday, Celton." Jacob said.
Celton nodded "You never know. Fate does seem to work in mysterious ways sometimes."
Jacob and Joey nodded and Joey put his hand on Jacob's shoulder "You ready to go, mate?"
    "Yeah." Jacob said.
"Goodbye." Celton said once more before Joey began to draw on his power to teleport. Just as Joey and Jacob Teleported all time seemed to stand still. A bright light erupted from all three heros and then everything went black.
    ****
Celton opened his eyes and found the bright sun bearing down into them. He groaned and turned his head away only to hear Link and Destiny laugh. "Jeez Celton we were beginning to think you were never going to wake up you lazy bum." he heard Destiny say. He frowned and looked up to see his brother and best friend sitting near the edge of the spring right next to Celton like they were before any of this ever happened "Wake up? What are you talking about?" Celton said groggily as he sat up.
Link had a cocky grin on his face as he said "We were sparring remember? I guess I must have hit you a little too hard you've been out for almost a whole two minutes now."
"Sparring? No we... I was..." he could have sworn that this was all wrong. "No, we already sparred and I won. Then there was the storm and Link got all weak."
Link and Destiny were looking at Celton like he was a crazy person but he didn't seem to be listening. The memories were faiding as fast as a scattered dream. "And Destiny got kidnapped."
Link shrugged and stood up "Oh really? You won? Without Shadow's help? Now I know you were dreaming." he said with a cocky grin as he reached down to help Celton up. Celton hesitated and then took Link's hand, allowing Link to help him stand up. Destny hit Link upside the head "You just knocked your brother out cold and now you're making fun of him!? Jeez so much for 'heroic'."
Link laughed "Sorry Destiny. Celton and I were just playing around." he hit Celton playfully on the sholder and pain laced up Celton's arm. He groaned and grasped it.
"Celton are you alright?" Destiny said.
Celton pulled the sleeve of his tunic up to see a deep cut across his elbow to his sholder. Link's eyes went wide "Woa! Celton what happened?"
Celton shrugged "I dont know. I must have cut myself on a branch when we were fighting."
Destiny nodded "Maybe. Come on lets get home and see what we can do about healing that." Link, Celton, and Destiny took off through the trees back home. From the corner of his eye, Celton could have sworn he saw someone standing there by the spring where he and Link were once standing. He turned in that direction, trying to get a closer look at whoever it was but he saw no one. He shook his head and turned back to follow Link and Destiny. This is far from over... If I dont find a way to be rid of Shadow from my heart for good soon, then he will take over again and next time there may never be a chance to turn back The thought made Celton very anxious but he pushed aside his worry and ran to catch up with Destiny and Link.

Jacob and Joey appeared again in Ordon Village just outside the dance. Joey looked at Jacob "So... what are we doing out here again mate?"
Jacob shook his head "No idea."
Joey frowned "That's weird mate. But I think Abby was looking for you."
Just then the doors opened and Abby came out. "Jacob? Jeoy? Where were you two the dance is almost over and we haven't been able to find you anywhere." Jacob smiled at Abby "Sorry Abby. I think we had to step outside for some fresh air for a second."
Joey nodded "It was getting pretty stuffy in there mate."
"Well come on inside. There are only two songs left." Abby said with a smile.
Joey nodded and followed Abby up the steps, they turned to see that Jacob wasn't following them. "You comming mate?" Joey said.
"Yeah, you two go ahead. I'll catch up. I promise." Jacob answered. Abby and Joey looked at eachother and shrugged before they walked back inside. Jacob just knew that something was wrong here. He felt a dark presence back in his body that he knew wasn't there before. He looked around as if looking for some unseen danger that he could not find. Just then, he heard a voice "Fear not, Jacob. We do not give any man obsticles that we did not believe he couldn't handle." Jacob recognised the voice as one of the goddesses though he wasn't sure which one. "For now enjoy your life and those in it. But beware... beware the Tetra."
Jacob frowned "Tetra? What are you walking about?"
But there was no responce. The goddesses were gone and they answered him no more.
