The Black Swan

>Will knows Siegfried and is going to talk to them. He won't drop hints.<

 

Seigfried smiled, "Yes, she is going to try. We reached a compromise. She picks six princesses from around other kingdoms and they will attend my birthday celebration. On that night I will chose from those six women and I will also have time to get to know them the next few monts." he explained his and Catholde's compromise all in one breath.

Von Rothbart smiled knowingly "Don't bother yourself with the details, daughter." he said mysteriously. "In the end, you will see that everything will work out just as it is supposed to."

 

"I see.Well,hope they are not all stuck-up.Who knows what whould happen."Benno said with a sigh."Now then,are you up for a spar?"

 

"I have no doubt in you." Odile said.

"So until sunset tonight, anything need done or training, might I ask?" Odile asked.

 

Rothbart shook his head "Just your personal study will do for today. Keep an eye on the swans while you're at it. I have some personal matters to attend to. Be ready to travel by the end of the day." with that he took on his owl form and flew off into the sky without a word of farewell.

Seigfried laughed and pulled out his blade "Sure if you think you can keep up that is, friend."

 

Odile watched him fly off. She headed went to her room grabbing a few books and walked down to the waters edge and looked at all the maiden swans. She liked them better in thie swan form. She saw down on a boulder and opened up a book and began reading constatly glancing up on the swans.

 

As soon as Rothbart was out of view of the rest of his household he used magic to transport him further on, cutting days out of his journey. He landed gracefully in the middle of a forest near the kingdom and then he walked the rest of the way in human form so that he could keep him magic a secret from the general public. As he reached the front gates he was stopped by the front man. "State your name and buisness, sir." he said as if he was reading it off a piece of paper.
Rothbart smiled a little, knowing this guy wasn't going to let him past without a little help. "I am here to see Queen Catholde. You will make me an appointment with her emmedialty." he said using a little mind control to emphasise he words.
The man at the gate stuttred, suprised "Yes sir. Right away." opened the gate. "You can wait here." he signaled for a page and told him to run and inform the queen of the new arriaval emmediately.
"Sorry sir, I never did catch your name."
Rothbart chuckled "Oh she will know who I am. Just say that Baron von Rothbart is here to see her. It is about her son's birthday celebration."

 

Benno smiled before moving his back slightly to the right,causeing the spear to drop away from his back before catching it with his left hand and bringing it in front of him in a defensive position."I am the only one who can friend."

 

Rothbart followed the jittery little boy through the castle until they reached a room where he was asked to stay outside for a while while he was announced to the queen. He heard the boy walk in and he heard a woman's voice say "rise" and then the page's voice say "Your magesty, Sir Baron Eric von Rothbart."
Rothbart walked in and bowed politely to the queen "Your magesty." he said in a dull tone just a little more than bored.

Seigfried grinned "How true that is." he said before suddenly slashing a deadly fast strike at Benno with his sword. He had complete control of the blade and could stop it from killing Benno any time he wanted.

 

Benno blocked it with the spear edge and then pushed it foward at an angle to give him an opening to move in,going for a stab.One of the best spearmasters in the country,he could stop the blade before the kill,though it was never in the first strike in these fights.

 

Rothbart smiled and kissed the queens hand as a sign of respect. "Your magesty I would never have made a request such as this if I didn't think you wouldn't like it." he began. She raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue "I have heard of your son's birthday celebration and I have an offer. You see I have a daughter. I know with my title of mearly baron I wouldn't dream of attempting to wed her to your son if I didn't have the correct upsides to it." he tapped his staff on the ground and a figure of a girl with long silverey hair was shown projected. "My daughter is well taught and is easily swayed as she has been taught since she was a small child. She is becomming of age to be married and as any father I want her married to a high stature. As for her dowery, I can assure you that she is well endowed and if the prince Seigfried is to marry her he will end up much more well of financially."
He saw the queens eyes as he looked over the projection and listened to his words. He knew she was thinking hard and that she was the only one that knew he was a sorcerer. "And I hardly use my magic for purposes of the rest of the world but I can assure you that I would be at your survice for the rest of your days lf my daughter is made queen."

Seigfried blocked his attack and then kicked a low kick at Benno's legs to knock him off his feet.

 

Benno was knocked down but quickly rolled up his lower body and jumped off his back to attack him with both legs in the stomach,then used his momentum to jump off,slip in the air,and land on the ground while Seigfried was sent flying into a tree.

 

Will finally reached his destination and walked up on them training. "Morning, Benno." He called.

 

Odale looked up about teh same time. She closed her book and walked to the waters edge. With some magic she changed her appearence into a dolphin and was in teh water. She swimed around then as the sun was half way down she came out her normal form all dry. She went back to her book and read. She looked at all the swans. She heard was quack out, she shook her head and went back to reading.

 

*lol swans don't quack *

Rothbart smiled "Oh, trust me. There is no question of that. When my daughter walks into the room, he will see no other woman but her."


Seigfried was taken off guard when Will showed up. He was distraced and then Benno knocked him into a tree. Seigfried laughed and got to his feet, "Good to see you, William." he said as he prepared himself for Benno to take the first strike in the second round.

 

Benno twirled his spear before putting it in a reverse grip and throwing it at Seigfried before running after him.The spear hit the ground near his friend while Benno jumped and did a simple axe kick from above.
