Tales of a Journey (Private!)

The dog-man saw his opportunity and went for it. While the wolf was distracted, he ran around the edge of the barrier, reaching Yani quite quickly. It was obvious he was practiced at running.

"Hah! Now I can take you into custody!" He challenged with a grin, pulling the same dark-cuff maneuver he did on Riri earlier. Yani simply just looked at him and grinned a devious grin.
"Well, now Yani has YOU!" She spat right back, forming a similar maneuver with light.

"Well. . . this is awkward," the man admitted, both is arms cuffed to both of the rabbit's arms.

"Recording, play."

The sound trailed off towards the end, as it was apparent that was the point Neli left, missing half the instructions.
"That's all," The robot informed them.
"Huh, really? What's the girl on your back doing there, then?" Ranma asked, looking at the girl. The face was certainly familiar, but he couldn't place what.

"Malisa Jals. Young Malisa." Neli replied with a hint of worry in her voice.

 

Riri was too distracted by the point of the appearance of the new person to take notice in Yani & the man's idiotic performance.

"What are you idiots doing now? Wait, where's Ace?" The blonde seem to growl as the wolf back away as he headed straight for the person in the cloak and Zero. "Nothing!" Zero pipped up before the blonde yanked the cloaked man and tossed him behind him and into the street. Riri looked at him questionably before the blonde opened up an portal and snapped, "We're going now!"

"Yes'm sir!" THe person said before grabbing Zero and dragging him along. The wolf seem to have disappeared as the blonde looked over at Riri before shaking his head. "Ace! Where are you?" The blonde shouted as the barrier around the area disappeared. "Where could that idiot be," The man muttered to himself before Riri got up to her feet and cautiously went towards him, "Umm, not to be rude, but who are you?"

The person whipped their head in the direction of where Riri was standing muttering something under his breath before speaking, "No concern to you, but I can say that I'm not happy to see my friend picking up chicks and guys from the streets again. You think he'd be in a proper relationship."
"Picking up... wait, that means that Zero is-" "The fox boy? He looks like someone who's going to bitch a lot, that's for sure," The male cut Riri off as she scratched the back of his head.

Riri looked at him in a curious light before he held his hand out to her, "Sorry if that idiot was making you do something stupid." Riri looked at him feeling an odd aura from this guy, but she grabbed his hand anyways to shake on it,"None take- OW! Sonofabitch!" Riri pulled her hand back instantly seeing there was a dart digging into the palm of her hand. "Sorry Riri," The man whispered as he pulled the dart out before heading for the portal and closing it behind him.
Riri stood there looking at her hand seeing the hole close up before she looked up with a curious look on her face, "What the hell am I doing standing here?"

"Malisa? That... makes no sence!" Lizabeth whined before she poked the young white haired girl in the back of the head, "Then again Malisa was acting weird earlier, maybe she's a time traveler of some sort!"

"But furthermore," Lizabeth continued as she grabbed Neli's hand smiling, "We should go find Scarlett before we forget about her!"

 

"Well, looks like I'd better get Riri," Kinta sighed, watching as the barrier dissipated. "Still, I can't help but feel like I've heard the name Ace before. . . Oh well, I'm sure it was something Noah related."

Standing up and stretching first, the man hopped and slid down the rooftop he was on into the street. "Those guys have their hands in everything!"

Landing a few feet away, he walked towards Riri and tapped her on the shoulder.

"No. Not same. Same. But different," Neli attempted to explain, getting more frantic.

"Jeez, you're acting strange. You sure you're all right?" Ranma asked, putting his hand on her forehead. It didn't help much, considering that her body was kept perfectly at room temperature at all times.

"Just help. Go Scarlett," The robot sighed, apparently giving up.

 

Riri turned around and smiled faintly as she saw Kinta, "Hey there! Where have you been? Nevermind that, I guess we should go find the others then correct?"

Riri thought about whatever happened to Yani & the wolf man but she pushed that aside as she grabbed onto Kinta's arm, "Let's go!"

"Oh, come on kiddo. Let's just hurry and go find the ginger," Lizabeth sighed not wanting to fight with either of them as she tried to pull on her hands to move forward.

 

"Right. The time's about up, anyways, so they should all be meeting up at the statue down the way," Kinta informed her, getting the time off a clock tower that happened to be conveniently next to them. "So, down we go!"

Yani and the wolf-man were nowhere to be found, it seemed.

"Wait, so what was that address again?" Ranma asked, scratching his head.

"Heard - Knowledge District," Neli said, pointing down an alley that presumably led to the next district over.

"Wow, that's convenient,"

 

"Right. The time's about up, anyways, so they should all be meeting up at the statue down the way," Kinta informed her, getting the time off a clock tower that happened to be conveniently next to them. "So, down we go!"

Yani and the wolf-man were nowhere to be found, it seemed.

"Wait, so what was that address again?" Ranma asked, scratching his head.

"Well, we might as well not keep the others waiting if they're already there. Then again, knowing those fools, they might be off mugging the locals here," Riri laughed looking up at the said clock tower before she held a firm grip onto his hand before taking off at a running start, "I'm hungry and I need some munny real badly!"

"Knowledge District, here we come!" Lizabeth cackled a little as she tossed Ranma over her shoulder and sat Neli on the other side as she walked over to the next district.

"So, while we're off, why don't we try to think of some ideas about the little bugger here? I mean I like, why is she a kid when we just saw her as an adult yesterday, tearing through Ranma and the others up like tissue?" Lizabeth asked as she tried to keep a conversation going while she stepped into the next district.

 

"Why didn't you get some of the munny Monty gave out?" Kinta asked, sighing a bit as she dragged him along. "It's not like he was at a lack of it."

"Hu-waitaminute, I can walk myself!" Ranma snarled, pushing himself off of Lizbeth's shoulder, landing on his two feet quite easily. "So, Neli, what does 'same but different mean'."

"Not literal. Same person. Existence not," Neli continued to try to explain in her limited speech pattern. It was clear she was getting rather frustrated with the whole affair.

 

"Why didn't you get some of the munny Monty gave out?" Kinta asked, sighing a bit as she dragged him along. "It's not like he was at a lack of it."

"So, like this Malisa and the other one are from different timelines is what you're saying?" Lizabeth asked the robot before she stopped for a moment thinking to herself, "It's either that or something else that Malisa might have something to do with it."

Lizabeth scratched her head as she wondered about it before she kept walking through the district talking out loud, "Maybe we should look up some information at this questionable bookstore Scarlett might have gone to and get some answers!"

 

"Then take some from Ranma. I'm sure he would have just spent it on something stupid anyways. . . like a new weapon. Or something like that," Kinta grumbled before remembering, "Oh wait. He did. Why he did that I'll never know."

". . . Possiblity. Alternate Universe. Another Possibility," Neli commented, contemplating the likelihood of it all.

The group soon reached what they were looking for, the Knowledge District. And it certainly lived up to its name. Everything from books and scrolls to mediums and fortunetellers was around.

"Well. . . Where do we start?" Ranma asked, looking to Neli. The robot just shrugged.

 

"Then take some from Ranma. I'm sure he would have just spent it on something stupid anyways. . . like a new weapon. Or something like that," Kinta grumbled before remembering, "Oh wait. He did. Why he did that I'll never know."

Riri just shrugged not really paying attention to what Kinta was saying as she pulled them through the district before they entered the main area seeing the emerald dragon statue nearby.

"Well, from what we know in the clip Neli showed up, the person said it was a runned down place that has no business," Lizabeth commented as she glanced down the street, "Maybe if we find the one place that doesn't seem as crowded as these stands, that might be the place!"

Lizabeth put Neli carefully down on the ground before she facepalmed, "Or we can just ask people about the bookstore..."

 

"Well. . . I guess we just play the waiting game now, huh?" Kinta asked, turning to the fox. "Actually, that reminds me, what was that whole deal with the giant ice-wolf thing about?"

It was clear he was unaware of the memory wipe.

"Yeaaaah. So. . . First vendor!" Ranma cackled, running up to the first stall he could find. Moments later, he turned back to the two, shrugging. As he walked back, he told them, "Of course, I end up with a new guy. Let's ask an old person!"

 

"Ice wolf? What are you talking about?" Riri looked at him with a curious look on her face before her ears perked a little like she had a sudden realization, "I can't remember what I've done for the last hour! Oh great, I probably got drunk somewhere or drugged and beat up a couple of people or something..."

While Riri was rambling on, not sure of what she was talking about, she stopped talking suddenly as she heard the same flute melody from earlier. She slid down onto the groundby the statue with a grin on her face as she seemed to calm down, "I feel like jelly."

"Sure, because that is a good idea," Lizabeth rolled her eyes as she left the two of them before she went to one heafty woman who was managing a stall with a baby in her lap. The woman seemed to bark something at Lizabeth before the heartless girl scurried back to her companions.

"Er, I think we might have a better chance finding it on our own," Lizabeth said as she scratched the back of her head.

 

"But you. . . But. . . Oh, I give up!" Kinta groaned, puffing out his cheeks. He turned away from her in frustration. She didn't SEEM drunk earlier. Looking back, he began, "Now wha- why are you on the ground all of a sudden?

"That way," Neli remarked, tugging on the duo's sleeves and pointing far down the road. "Less people. Down there."

"Weeeeeeeeellll, looks like Neli knows what she is talking about!" Ranma said with a shrug, letting the robot lead the way. "I never knew you were a tracker, Neli."

"Am not. Likelihood greater. That all."

 

"But you. . . But. . . Oh, I give up!" Kinta groaned, puffing out his cheeks. He turned away from her in frustration. She didn't SEEM drunk earlier. Looking back, he began, "Now wha- why are you on the ground all of a sudden?

"The melody is soothing," Riri giggled as she was able to pull herself up to her feet before she skipped around. She twirled around in a circle before she clapped her hands together, "Let's go on an adventure~!!"

And with that, Riri skipped forward a few steps before the flute melody in her ears stopped. Riri stopped in her tracks before she looked around in a curious manner shaking her head, "What's up with me today?"

"Good point, but let's hurry up!" Lizabeth said as she picked up her pace with the robot, "I want us to go meet with a historian I bumped into earlier."

 

"You didn't have any Moogle Tea, did you?" Kinta asked, cocking his head to the side. A voice answered his question rather promptly.

"Nope. They don't sell that stuff here, kupo."
"Nice to see that you're on time, Monty. I don't know what the others are doing, so who knows when they're going to get over here."

"A historian? Great. I just LOVE talking to old geezers," Ranma whined, balancing his axe on his palm as he walked. Quite successfully, it must be admitted.

 

"You didn't have any Moogle Tea, did you?" Kinta asked, cocking his head to the side. A voice answered his question rather promptly.

"Nope. They don't sell that stuff here, kupo."
"Nice to see that you're on time, Monty. I don't know what the others are doing, so who knows when they're going to get over here."
