Lily turned around and sighed in relief. "Daniel! Thank god your okay! Where were you? I just turned around and you vanished! I thought...they got you too." She turned and looked at Jason who was still shaken. "They...um...they hurt...Jason..." Lily struggled to tell Daniel what actually happened. She couldn't do it.

 

Jason pulled her close to him and laid her head on his chest, and held her. "Don't you blame yourself for this. Lily, please don't do that to yourself." He held her close and kissed the top of her head. "This wasn't your fault. It was those Zeronist guys. Don't worry, i'm going to protect you from them." Even though Jason was the victim he still was more concerned about Lily than himself. When Daniel walked in and Lily was about to tell him what happened, Jason interrupted her. "Daniel I was....R...." He whispered what had happened into Daniel's ear.

 

Daniel stood there with a shock look on his face. "No way...." "You were raped?" At that, he hit fist on the wall. "Dammit!" "I should have been there to protect you!" "I'm sorry Jason." He then punched the wall again in anger. He then calmed down and said "I'm sorry..... guys." He then looked away in shame.

 

Lily bit her lip. “You would have been there if I told you…I could have stopped it from happening but I didn’t! I just kept it to myself, like a coward…I could have stopped it!!” Lily screamed before jumping up and throwing a chair against the wall, she grabbed anything she could and threw it against the wall in a fit of rage. She kept punching the wall continuously, she had completely lost control of herself. She kept throwing punches at the wall with tears streaming down her cheeks.

 

Jason felt his emotions swirling. He felt something inside his heart stirring then he shouted, "STOP IT!!!!!!!!!" Jason shook his head, "No more....I don't want to see you hurt anymore!!!" Jason began to cry. "Please just stop, just be with me and let me take care of you. Be there for me. We can be there for eachother to pick eachother up when we're broken. Lily I don't blame you. I love you."

 

Daniel stood there in shock. It was like that he was forgotten as the world focused on Jason and Lily. "Hes basically saying that he wants her to marry him." This is what Daniel thought to himself. Why aren't they paying attetion to me?" "I'm right here also." Then the voice appeared again. "Apparently is seems you don't matter that much." "They only care about eachother more then they care about you." He stood there with empty eyes as he stood there. He then just walked away from the room.

 

Lily stopped when she heard what Jason had said; ‘He loved her, he wanted her to be with him’ she shook her head, ‘I’m sorry Jason...’ she whispered. Suddenly she clutched her head and fell to her knees. She was breathing heavily and her head was spinning, she looked at her hands and noticed her knuckles were bleeding. She turned when she heard the nurse walk in to check on Jason, she glanced at Lily then screamed. “Oh my God, what happened to her?” She knelt down next to Lily and noticed her hands too. “Come on dear, we’ll go get these cleaned up.” She helped her stand up and then helped her walk to the First aid room. In a matter of minutes, the nurse had disinfected and bandaged up her wounds. “So exactly did this happen?” the nurse asked while packing the equipment away. “I just kinda…lost it a little back there. I’ll be fine now…” Lily stood up and slowly walked back into the corridor. "I better apologize to Jason..." She looked to her left and noticed Daniel walking sadly towards the exit. “Hey Daniel wait up!” She ran after him.

 

Jason looked sad, "She doesn't have to keep blaming herself. She didn't cause this to happen. It was those Zeronist guys. Well no one makes Lily cry like that. I'm going to protect her from those guys. Only one thing to do, we have to go to the vatican, there I can protect her."

Meanwhile in some mysterious place:

"If this keeps up I will lose all control. I have to do something."

 

Daniel looked back at her and said "Lily...." He then walked up to her and hugged her. "I'm so glad that both of you are here." "I won't have to feel alone." Then the voice said to him "Don't get too attached." "Remember about tonight." He then let go and said "Go back to Jason."

 

Lily was confused but she had a thought about where he is going. "Your not going to them are you? Look what they did to Jason there’s no telling what the hell they might do to you! Listen those Vatican guys said they’ll help us! And if Jason trusts them then that’s good enough for me! Come on lets go back before something happens to him! Please…” Lily grabbed his arm and pulled him back towards the direction of Jason’s room.

 

Daniel broke away from Lily's grip and said "Stop!" He then put his head down and said "I need some fresh air." He then walked away from her, leaving alone in the hallway. As he was outside looking at everyobdy that passes him, the voice appeared again. "That was rather cold." "Yeah." "I know."

 

Lily turned and started walking toward the canteen. “Daniel seems different…” she said to herself before looking over her shoulder. “I hope he’ll be okay.” She followed the same signs that led her to the canteen before, bought a taco and made her way back to Jason’s room. Her pace quickened as she reached the door, she winced in pain as she reached for the handle. She shook her head while studying her hands ‘How am I going to explain this to him without him getting hurt?’ she opened the door and peeked inside. Jason was lying worryingly on the bed, just how he was before she left. “Hey…you okay? Um…sorry about what happened before, I got you that taco you wanted!” she smiled before sitting back in her usual spot, on the bed next to Jason.

 

Jason took the taco when Lily handed it to him. He took a bite of it and swallowed. Jason looked at her and said, "I meant what I said earlier. I want to be with you." He looked down and noticed her wrist was starting to bruise, "Uh..what happeneded?" He looked back up at her, "Did you do that when you were pounding on the wall?" He asked her. Jason looked sad, "Daniel....he's been acting very strange lately. Lily, i'm worried about him. I wish he would talk to me, but....he always steps out of the room. Maybe he's mad at me or something. I hope I didn't do anything to hurt him."

 

The voice appeared again. "So..... are you going to do it?" "Are you really going to leave them?" Daniel thought about that for awhile. "I don't know." "I just don't know." He sighed and looked at the sky above him. It was beautifully blue and the birds were flying gracefully through it. "Well..... you better decide soon or else you'll probably regret it later." "Its you decision." Daniel then said "My decision............"

 

Lily sighed. “Yeah, I’m worried about him too. But I doubt that he’s mad at you, you didn’t do anything. He’s probably mad at me for not telling you guys about that message…I’m still so sorry about that.” Lily looked down at her hands. “I just hope he doesn’t make the wrong decision…” Lily looked up again and smiled. “How’s the taco?”

 

Jason smiled, "It's really good. Thank you." Jason looked at Lily and said, "Lily I have to tell you something, I....didn't want to worry you but......" Jason was hesitant to tell Lily this but he knew he had to, "Lily, I had to take drugs. Those thugs, they didn't just beat me up and stab me but they held me down and forced drugs into me. I'm sorry, please don't be mad, I didn't want to take them I was forced to." Jason looked ashamed.

 

Lily gasped in shock. "They...forced you to take drugs? The Bastards!!!" Lily breathed in deeply and hugged him. "It's okay...their the ones that made you do it. Your not the one to blame..." Lily kissed him on the cheek slowly.

 

Jason cuddled closer to her like he was afraid. At first Jason didn't know why he was clinging to her so much, sure he loved her but this feeling wasn't love at that moment, it was an urge for safety. Jason realized now he was afraid of something and he knew exactly what that was, "Please don't leave me alone." He began shaking, "I don't want to be alone. Your hugs, they're warm, I feel loved with you. I don't want to be alone anymore. I hate being alone."

 

Lily sighed and hugged him tighter. “I promise I will never leave you. I promise you and Daniel will never have to feel alone ever again.” Lily said sincerely yet she couldn’t help but feel angry about what those men did to Jason, the pain they must have put him through, but she was pretty sure that all of that was over. She felt a small drop of moisture roll down her cheek; she didn’t want him to go through anymore pain… ever. “Um, you should get some rest…” she whispered before clearing her throat. “Tomorrow those…Vatican guys are gonna take us right? So you should get some sleep.” She smiled and slid off the side of the bed. “And don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere…”

 

Jason did as he was told, "Lily, check on Daniel and make sure he is okay." Jason closed his eyes and gently fell to sleep. The sky turned to night and the doctors were all yawning, feeling pretty tired themselves. Jason laid in his bed resting peacefully. He was cuddled up tightly in his hospital sheet and blanket.
