Well, since this is still a religion debate, I might as well bring this up. What do you people think about religious songs? What do you think about them?

They perfectly ruin the name of awesome songs. Take "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Benny Goodman. I looked it up on Youtube, and I got some crappy religious rock song without any sense of style.

And since this thread is somewhat revived, (In response to Mith) I say that I was trying to make a point - Christians die more or less as often as atheists do.

It's kinda strange. I don't believe and usually don't like anything religious things, but I enjoy listening the songs. Not in english thought, only in my home language. Usually they are touching and they can concentrate on another subjects but still related to religion.

??? That's an opinion Moog. Not a fact. Christians & atheists can die in anyways. A christian can die in their sleep, get hit by a car, get shot down, or have a heart attack the same way a atheist can. Also, it depends on which gospel song is to your own liking or taste. <.> & Gospel songs do not ruin the name of awesome songs!! XD well, black gospel music in my opinion. I never did heard of Buddha music or Wiccan music. All I ever hear is Gospel, which I think is the main religious music.

    Correction to my aforementioned statements:

    1. By 'religious music' I was referring to crappy modern-type music that you'd probably mistake for one of the many song clones on top 40 radio.

    2. I meant to say that both Christians and Atheists die plenty. So it's not really a valid point to say that just because people say "god is dead" die out of turn because plenty of people who say "God is real" die too.

Brain washing. haha, some are cool Liek that song "Our God is an Awesome God", but thats the only one i like. The rest are Gaaaaaaaaay.

with your last staement, i get your point. But I think that is irrelavent due to the fact that, I DONT CARE!!! I think that whole thing about people saying "god is dead" and then dying is silly superstision, not fact. So I think we actually agree here Moogle, lol.

XD Are you talking about the Kirk Franklin version Our God is an Awesome God or you meant that other Our God is an Awesome God? Anyways, why say that the songs are brain washing? I don't find them brain washing. Each songs can describe what we're going through & we do need songs that can help us spiritually. -_______- I hope no one don't try & contradict my last sentence with a stupid answer.

well for me the religious songs are ok, i dont really care for them but the ones i've heard mean something in has hope in it, but i dont really think it affects the religion it's self unless it's degrading others.

Why must humans choose the light over the dark? WHy must they choose dark over light? It is because they are afraid to embrace both. That is what I think. Do you guys think this also?

  13. EtherealSummoner

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

??? That's not brain washing Mythril. That's a song that won't leave you because it has meaning. Also, people won't be able to do both. God says that if we embrace good & evil, or in other words, lukewarm, then he will spew us from his mouth. That's one reason why people are either to do God's will or join Satan's ways, though God wants us to be on the path of righteousness so we can be saved.

Gen, I don't know why, but I'll laugh if Dark is actually good. Honestly that'd be the biggest case of irony in history.

Anyways. Myth I would agree as far as saying it's not brainwashing. If a song has a catchy tone then you remember it. Technically you don't forget. All information is stored somewhere in your brain but something has to trigger the memory.

Brandon, why not? Hey, sticking to the path of "all righteous" doesn't always get the job done and when it doesn't people usually bend the rules to their will -in some cases breaking them- only to turn around and say they weren't breaking the rules, just doing "what was needed to be done for a better cause" =/ In all honesty I say you can embrace both and if you should be forsaken so what? Personally I have no fear of being forsaken because if I was then the only one to blame would be myself.

You can do bad things if you want, but know that there will be a consequence for the action that you do. It's your own free will. I for one, don't want to suffer any consequence because I did something bad.

  16. Tsukiyomi

    Tsukiyomi Shinto's Moon God

Hmm, i see Haresuno. You would embrace both and wouldn't fear being forsakened. How fascinating. Anyway I agree with my own post. People fear about embracing both because they think that they should just stick with one side. That is how it is.

Say you have in your hand a gun. Doesn't matter how you came about this gun, you just did. Now say that gun is a sniper rifle and you are in a position to shoot a person who is threatening to blow up a building with innocent civilians in it. He, too, has a gun and has already killed several people.

Brandon, would you take the shot -provided that for the sake of argument you can and will make the shot should you take it-?

  18. EtherealSummoner

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

Yes, I will take the shot. Still, if I'm part of a army force where I do some sniping like the one you mentioned, I will take out that person. That's my job. God knows taht he wants to protect his children taht are his & so pick out someone to help protect his people.

  19. Tsukiyomi

    Tsukiyomi Shinto's Moon God

Hmm, its like in order to protect something, then you must give up something. In this case, it would be your sanity.

  20. Haresuno

    Haresuno KH-3's Übermensch

And yet doesn't your God say that "thou shalt not kill"? Because you are saving other lives that makes you exempt from this "law" your God has made? He honors you for saving lives and yet spits on others?

"But Haresuno, others kill out of wicked temptations of Satan! I kill because I'm going to save them!"

By human, moral, standards that's very valorous. But how do you know your God will see it such. How do you know that God will not cast you out from Paradise the same as the murderers?
