I'm starting to question your sanity.....

And from what you said, it sounds like you know nothing and are just making stuff up.

I was laughing because you were being funny right? Paul, the pope? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
    You were kidding, right?
Dont tell me you were serious?
You, question my sanity? I already come to the conclusion that your closed minded and dont know ANYTHING, so why would I lower myself to your way of thinking and explain anything to you? You aren't paying attention to my posts at all, and are making a fool out of yourself by trying to ridicule me. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
    Paul the pope......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Your a Christian fool, simple as that. I'm sorry, I'm just getting a crack out of all this.......heh....ha....HAHAHAHAHAHA

Well, I could say that we're both close-minded. I've taken into account the possibility that Christianity copied off of Zoroastroism. But you don't seem to believe the possibility that you're wrong.

And I've been paying attention to your posts. That's why I've posted things about the possibility of you being wrong. But clearly, you're too close-minded to notice that.

I notice you're just like my step-brother; always thinking you're right. And you may say that you don't think that, but the posts of your's that I've read makes you appear that way.

And I've gotta ask: Why is it that you laugh at everything that goes against what you think is right? You say stuff that goes against what I think is right, but I don't laugh at that. Honestly, it shows you have the maturity of a fourth grader.

I have taken it into account. I am not fully in the belief of my religion. I merely defend it in this debate. I have taken it into account that Zoroastrianism could be in on all this bullshit. They could be in with a lot of the evil of this world. But I find less of the earthly evil in it, thats why I would subscribe to it over anything else. I feel Zoroastrianism has been cheated over the years. You see, even if I seem like I am one thing, I might be merely my motivation at the time. But who I really am is the ideal open mind.

okay, I get that. It just seems like you are constantly ridiculing my side of the debate, but I get it now. I wish you would've cleared that up earlier.

lets not bring your personal life into this debate. I am open minded, even though sometimes I might not seem like it, because deep down I am hardcore.

I only laughed at the Paul thing. If I see utter stupidity, I laugh. Is like watching Funniest home videos and seeing someone get kicked in the balls. Its just "stupid funny".

You're post cleared alot of things up.

Okay, that bit was my fault.

I wouldn't say hardcore. I don't know you well enough to know if it's true or not.

You see it as stupid, but others don't. What makes you think that he was a maniac and appointed himself pope? Is it because Jesus died on the cross before He appointed Paul as the pope? (And I'm guessing that you also don't believe in Jesus coming back alive three days after dying.)

EDIT: And I realize I made a mistake. Jesus appointed Peter as the first pope, not Paul.

lol, my bad totally. I thought you Meant Paul. I understand the Peter thing a bit more, but I still dont agree with it in anyway.
As for me, I am deep down hardcore, but its hard to be hardcore when everyone around me is a socialist commy or a Neo con. No one is open minded any more. But deep down I believe that bad people deserve to burn in hell, and "righteous" people deserve to live in peace.

    Wow..... How.... Is that possible?

There are so many records that Hitler kept. Infact, if you were to put them in filing cabnets and lined them up, they'd make a line 16 miles long or something.

    What are you talking about?

The Church doesn't say the Holocaust never happened. It's Muslim leaders who claim the Holocaust never happened because they hate Jews.

I suppose there are certain individual churches that say the Holocaust never happened, but I know that the Catholic Church doesn't say that the Holocaust was made up.

Um...may I just point out, Zefer, that Atheism is a religion?

…Ok, you guys are probably going to become angry with me after this, but it is a religion debate thread. So here goes!

Sometimes people do and say strange things (referring back to the denial of the Holocaust). There is a lot of evidence pointing to the occurrence of the Holocaust. Similarly, there is a lot of evidence pointing to the existence of God. But that is not to say that people will not form their own opinions regardless of evidence presented to them.

I would like to speak about my own "religion" (I dislike the word because I do not feel it fosters understanding...I prefer to call it a relationship). I am a Christian. I just want to put out to the people reading these messages that I don't go to church every Day 1 (Sun.) or read the Bible or go to Youth Group just as some sort of Christian “ritual.” I don't pray because I feel that I should--that it is my duty.

Rather, all are delights. I genuinely desire to do these things. Christianity is not about going to church. It is not about reading the Bible. It is not about going to "Christian events." (Though it is my opinion that each of these are beneficial to the soul in the sense that they are very edifying.) It is not about following a set of rules that determines whether or not you will go to heaven.

It is about Jesus Christ, and having a genuine relationship with Him. It is about walking with God. Heaven is indeed a lovely place, and certainly desirable over hell, but if you want to be a Christian because you don’t want to go to hell, you want to be a Christian for the wrong reason. Yes, it is tragic that people will suffer in hell, and yes, hell is a horrible place. But the ultimate tragedy is not that people suffer, or will suffer, in hell. The ultimate tragedy is that God is not worshipped. To understand this, one needs to understand who God is. I know that many people will not like these statements. The flesh will war against it. My own flesh wars against the Truth. But Truth nonetheless remains. God is who He is.

In order to understand any of this, again, one needs to understand God’s character. He is amazing! He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He created the heavens and the earth, and the entire universe with words. I cannot comprehend such power. And the fact that He cares for man, who is literally smaller than microscopic in comparison to the universe, and longs for each one—that He loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life—blows my mind away. God knows and cares deeply for each of us…down to the very strands of hair upon our heads, which are numbered.

Jesus Christ suffered and died innocently for us. Did you know that he who hangs upon a tree (a cross) is accursed? So much suffering! He literally became sin—took on all of the sins of the world, present, past, and future—and nailed it to the cross. He had to face separation from God the Father—the ultimate torture—because He took on sin, and thus, He had to die. And He did it willingly. He is God; He could have refused, but He chose to save us for His glory: “For everything comes from Him; everything exists by His power and is intended for His glory. To Him be the glory forevermore. Amen” (Romans 11:36, New Living Translation).

But please recognize: God is not wrong or selfish in seeking His glory above all things. I know that it may be hard to see it that way, but consider this. If He placed man above Himself (if His ultimate purpose was saving a lost world), it would make Him an idolater. (Putting man—or anything else—in God’s place is idolatry.)

The glory God seeks to magnify is the glory of His MERCY: “For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs so that the gentiles may glorify God for His mercy” (Romans 15:8-9). His mercy comes into play because we all deserve death. All of humanity is fallen, for all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Jesus had to pay for us if we were ever to have our relationship with God restored, if we were ever to worship God in spirit and in truth, if we were ever to glorify Him as was originally intended. Blood had to be shed. The wages of sin is death. Because God is perfect, holy! sin cannot be before Him. It can’t be in His presence.

Blood atonement was therefore necessary. And it could not be just any atonement. The Sacrifice had to be perfect. Jesus is perfect. He is the only One who can wash away our sin with His blood. He is the Word of God, and in the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among men, and they beheld His glory. Do you see the significance of this? How abundantly does God love us and show us His love for us in this sacrifice!

And our hope as Believers is in Him who also rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. We are justified by faith in Him, and saved by grace. We cannot earn God’s favor. Our efforts will never be enough. The law—the Torah-demonstrates this. But with God, all things are possible…in Christ, we are no longer separated from God because of our sin, but our relationship with Him is restored because we are clean. We are justified before the throne of God, paid for with the Blood of Christ.

One final note (at least for now): it is true that His blood washes away our sin. But we need to ask for it/accept it. I guess you could say it’s like the perfect gift that’s being handed to you, but you need to take it up in your hands to actually receive it. Jesus Himself states, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20, NKJV). You have to come to the door and open it. So, if you don’t come to the door and open it, you are still spiritually dead because of your sin.
