what about the Church Mason seperation? Thats not really that hard to find out. Masons and the Church have had problemz for yearz. I could explain if you want. I'm not lieing. But your also right. Its a combination of both answerz you see.

  2. 1. According to people that have had experiences where they die and then return to the living. Many people have had these experiences and not all of them can be lying, and this obviously not coincedence.

    2. Well God is like a father that wants his kids(humanity) to love him and do good. If you dis-obey your father then he punishes you so that you will learn from your mistakes. Same thing with God, if humanity does something wrong then God has to punish us so we know not to do it again.

    3. Actually I do know. Ever since I became a christian, I feel more at peace, I feel a love that I don't get from family or friends, I feel something greater than myself, I speak to God as a father and I speak to Jesus as a friend when I pray. I want to do what God wants me to do, because I love him and I always will. Being a true christian is the best feeling in the world. It goes pass the physical realm of emotion and into something higher.

Actually, it is highly probably that they are lying, it is a small percentage that claim to have these experiences and all of which are Christian. If a Muslim claimed to have seen Allah when he died would you believe him?

  4. Wrong, it has happened to a good amount of people and not all of them were christians. Some have had experiences of going to hell, which christians do not go to. Even some scientist claim this to be proof of an afterlife. But it's true in every case the experience is similar to the christian version of the afterlife. so there is proof of the christian faith being correct. Even my older sister had one of these experiences.

    1. They are most likely lying, and just want attention. I've heard of these stories, my grandma who I was very close to died. Before she died, she was talking to my mom. My grandma said she saw a bridge, it was the most beatiful thing she'd ever seen. Was she lying? No. Was she having a delusion? Most likely. Was she seeing heaven? Possibly, but theres no way to prove it.
2.Yes, in this sense the Fatherly metaphor is correct. He loves those deverving, and punishes the undeserving. I agree with it to, those who are evil should die over and over again until they LEARN something. Thats why I believe in reincarnation. To make someone live a thousand lifetimes is the most horrible curse...
3.Thats the hippy-dippy christian I don't like. The feeling of knowing the TRUTH is the greatest experience in the world, but even that is a curse.
No offense, just my opinion, but I feel that most Christians live in a fantasy world that leads them astray from THE TRUTH. People need to live in order to acknowledge what is right, and what is wrong.

GREAT POINT PULSE. I'd REALLY like to see Twilight Answer the last bit. Would you agree with the Muslim?

Christians can go to hell. Some Christians are frauds. And the scientists don't support the theory, thats a alie. If anything, they agree with it to support the delusional theory. If someone is "brain-washed" with Christianity, at the time of death they'll get flashbacks and see delusions of heaven, because they were taught that when they die, they'll see heaven, so their brain has them picture heaven, or something like heaven. Get my point? I don't neccesarily agree with it, I hope everyone sees heaven before they die, I just have a hard time believing that.

The problem i have with the bible is that pepole take it too litaliry. di you know that some pepole still belive the earth is flat just because the bible says the " the four corners of the earth"

The moon landings? Faked, say the flat-Earthers. Satellite images of the Earth? Fake, fake, fake.

    LOL

The four corners of the earth are talking about the 4 directions, North, East, South, West, and the 4 elements, fire, wind, earth, water.

Interesting thing about the number 4, in the East (china, india, japan) their unlucky number is 4. Here in America, our unlucky number is "13". What is 1+3? (1 from 13, and 3 from thirteen, when added = 4)
Interesting eh? The number 4 is an bizarre number....

  14. 1. Their was no way to prove it, but would you really want to risk your soul going to hell? You have to be humble and have faith.

    2. You missed the point, God gave all of humanity a chance to go to heaven, if they accept Jesus as their savior. If this country does not make God number 1 then we will all pay the price.

    3. Wait a minute, I know the world sucks right now but I also know that the world will never get better unless we accept God. I'm not blind from the truth, I want to help the world but I need God's help.

    4. I meant true christians, real christians. People who are not christians have had experiences of going to Hell. So it's not just christians. It may be hard for you to beleive that their is a heaven and hell but that is why you must have faith. I don't want you to go to hell, I want to see you in heaven. So I will pray that you will accept Christ and I pray to see you in heaven. Because I love you as a person.

Twilight, you are a good person......

karma is god. If you are a good person, you'll get Paradise after death.

You can't force God down peoples throats. What this country needs is freedom form evil government. We need to go back to the times of the Revolution. We don't neccesarily all need to find god right now.

Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on what accepting god really is.

Twilight, your a good person. You have a strong faith, and I admire that. I hope I will see you in heaven to. Just do the best you can everyday.

It's this type of kindness that will make the world better. Though you two may not agree on everything, you still respect eachother. I like that. :)

Getting a tad ff right now, but yeah and the weirdest thing is, I'm 14, born in feb 94, in a snow blizard. I was expected the 4, but instead came out the 10. I guess I'm a bad luck person. Anyway, yeah I must agree though, with the revolutionary times as well, I mean we were all peaceful, and the omly war was for us to become our own country and the Eurpoian war for terratory. See if we keep the technology now and follow the same rules and stuff back then keeping the same laws as now (I want to be able to vote and my one friend not be a slave) that be good.
I'm with you Loco, I mean if a bully or my rival for band were hurt I probaly still help them, and in some ways respect them.

Anyway, it's what to believe or not, I believe in God, and others don't. Some people think God is karma, while I believe he's the ultimate being. Some people might think science is the only answer, and the bible is the only answer, or like me believe in both.

Science cannot be proven either, sadly. The 'scientific method' is one of the greatest flaws of the human experience...namely, we cannot even be sure our measurements and/or experiences are valid. "Falsifiability is a bitch" as they say.

As I was discussing a little while ago, we have no way to prove we exist and are of sound mind. For instance, what is to stop you (whoever is reading this) from believing you are in a unique universe created entirely for you, where everyone else is an empty vessel? You're the unique one...

The answer is, nothing stops you from believing this, besides your gut instinct. Nothing you've experienced (in a physical sense) gives any indication to someone else's consciousness...you only bear witness to your own experience...but it's easy to see cases where a given person's experience is falsifiable.

The LHC's a pretty badass piece of machinery...however, the idea of 'proving creation by a scientific means' is a very bold claim. We cannot prove life was created in a random/probabilistic way until we can ourselves create life (or at least, it's an immediate precursor to creating life)...which the LHC does not claim to do.

Do you believe in Quantum Mechanics, Pulse? The very fabric of reality, in a Quantum Mechanical universe, is inherently probabilistic...that is, nothing is correct 'for certain.' There is always some other 'possible outcome' which we need not experience, but cannot rule out. No, this isn't really religious discussion I've been having so far...I'm building up to the following punchline:

Everyone puts their faith in something be it God, science, human beings, 'an empty universe' (nihilism), karma, voodoo, whatever it is. Everyone believes in something...even if it is the lack of belief itself. This belief, is an unprovable assumption...yes, even science has those.

Permit me to explain, going back to (grumble) axioms. Math is based on unprovable axioms. Does 2 + 2 = 4? Well in our experience, you take 2 apples and 2 apples, and we have 4. Thus we write down a bunch of symbols and interpret them to mean this.

This seems like a stupid remark, but it's actually highly nontrivial. What if we find out that our interpretation, our model for mathematics, is inconsistent? Can we really conclude 2 + 2 = 4? Most of the time, yes...2 + 2 = 4. But anyone who's done some math knows 'most' is not 'always' (is not 'truth').

If someday we find our assumptions in mathematics to be faulty...then our math will die...our physics will die....our chemistry will die...everything will be faulty. And we'll have to rebuild it from scratch.

Take home point: When we write down (let's say) physics on paper...we are not 'writing physics.' We are writing symbols which we interpret and relate to our physical experience. But there are two potential problems...
    1) The symbols may be faulty
    2) Our experiences may be faulty.

Thus science too, is based on 'blind faith.' It's merely a more 'calculatable' kind of faith, than is a faith in say, God.

I think this kind of claim is embarrassing...I mean, I'm supposed to be on your side, but I'm kind of wishing you didn't make claims like this...no one's gotten beaten again by Christianity.

I do kind of resent this comment...regardless of the religion it was aimed at. Priests, as I like to think of them, are very devoted people who live a life dedicated to peace and love (in a good way).

There are people who either have a mental problem, such as pedophilia, and can't help themselves...it's sick, I'm not condoning it, but many people who do this and hate themselves for it. They shouldn't be priests, definitely, and should be stricken of their duties once it is evident that they have such urges...but priests are not immune to mental illness as many people hope.

Or, there's the other end of the spectrum...some people (and it has happened) become priests with the sole intention of 'looking bad.' I know of at least 2 or 3 pedophile priests who fell into this category (according to news sources).

See this is more like what I believe: everyone was created to go to heaven, and be with God.

The problem is, many (if not most) Christian religions believe that if you are not a member of their exclusive dogma, then you are hellbound. "Believe in Jesus Christ, or you will be damned" kind of stuff.

Out of body experiences are a very real, and even scientific phenomenon. Studies (whose validity may be questioned) have shown that they seem to be real, by having patients identify a surgeon's mannerisms after having intensive surgery. I won't quote the statistic, but the patients were correct quite frequently.

In other words, a possible paradigm is this: "I went in for open heart surgery, but I saw the doctor doing a lot of work near my groin. I thought he was a pervert for a second there."
The doctor then explained that he had to put in a catheter...but the idea is, how could the patient know that?

Many (atheist) scientists are trying to prove that consciousness resides in other parts of the body, besides the brain...and that this is the reason people 'see themselves on the operating table.' Other (theist) scientists are trying to prove the exact same thing.

Infact, Roger Penrose has a very interesting theory about the possible 'quantum mechanical nature' of the mind, involving microtubules. Many do challenge his work...but so is the quest for truth/science: idea, disproof, idea, disproof.
