    Reasons for Soranort

The more I think about it after playing KH3, the more I wish a Soranort ending happened in KHDDD. Just consider the scenario! For example-

    Instead of aimlessly bouncing around as Sora, Goofy, and Donald again you could give this time to others. Dont get me wrong, I loved that they ended all these in 3 as SDG taking down Xehanort but I also would’t have minded since I felt their adventures concluded in 2. So now you have the freed up screen time to;

    • Have playable segments as Riku and Aqua.

    • You can also find some excuse to play as Axel and Kairi.

Hell, give them their own party. Dont lock them away in some DBZ time chamber, let them have a journey through the worlds. THAT could be their training. (with a crash course in magic/keyblade basics a la Yen Sid first)

Better yet. Since Mickey and Riku hadn’t pieced together Terra’s fate yet, let’s say Axel and Kairi are sent out to find him. The mission lets them gain experience AND serve a role. With Kairi wishing to save Sora& Namine as well.

Then there’s Roxas, Namine, Xion and now Sora. I didn’t mind their revivals but it’d feel more believable if it was Xehanort’s doing. Xehanort is a master who’s used his heart extracting powers regularly, it’s within his established powers.

For him, being in possession of Sora would let him extract and then place Roxas in a Replica. While making this Roxasnort they’d also discover Xion and repeat that process again. Restoring her and her memory to the world. (Axel angst)

    • This route offers a fun take on “saving” people

    • Roxas & Xion are restored in a somewhat simpler manner

    • We, like Kairi, would be desperate to save our boy

    • This means only Riku has the power to “wake” hearts.

OH! OH OH THEN THERE’S VENTUS!

This could even be a fun twist. Imagine we play Riku, we save Aqua, and all hype. Our queen lives! Then the next segment is her and Kairi/Axel or Riku going to the castle to wake Ven only to realize– he’s not there.

    • Ventus is gone

Ventus has seemingly woke and left but no, he too has fallen. Following Sora’s tie to Ven, Ven’s heart is freed by Xehanort and returns to it’s body but with a part of Xehanort’s own.

    • Venort

It’s then that Xehanort is able to revive Vanitas as well. Restoring Ventus, the light, would bring his other half to the forefront with a replica body waiting for him.

In a twist, everyone that was “a sora” now finds themselves under Xehanort’s control. In contrast, Riku and Kairi gain allies (lights) to match this threat as if guided by fate.

From here you can imagine the layout of the final battle or the final Nort roaster.

I’d still leave in things like Vexen and Demyx going rogue because that’s just legitimately hilarious to me. As for the final lights roaster I’d have:

    • Kairi, Riku, Axel, Mickey, Aqua, Donald, Goofy, and the Lingering Will. (contacted by Namine)

The Norts, final battle, would be:

    • Sora, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, Vanitas, YX, Ansem, Xemnas, MX, Marluxia, Larxene, Luxord, past Riku

And dont give me that “no keyblades” shit about Donald and Goofy. Lights & darks aren’t just keyblade aesthetics! Besides most of the norts in the canon story lacked one in combat. =P
