Powers?

Tom had gotten his ice cream a little bit after Leah did. It was 3 scoops, chocolate chip cookie dough, carmel, and vanilla, and had Reese's peanut butter cups with it. Tom's favorite order. Leah confused him. She had pink hair, wore sunglasses indoors, laughed when she saw ice cream, and gave the guy $10 when her ice cream was only $2.72.

After getting his ice cream, Tom turned around to find a place to sit. He noticed Leah about to step on something strange. Right as Tom was about to speak, she stepped on it and slipped. Her ice cream went into the air out of her hands. Tom rushed over to her and caught her with his right arm. With his left, he managed to catch her ice cream without any of it spilling anywhere. Tom looked at his hand where the cut was. The cut was gone. The wound had completely healed itself.

"Are you alright?" Tom asked Leah. He still had his arm around her from when he caught her.

 

"Anytime." Tom smiled. He quickly looked around, looking for something to say. He saw her ice cream in his hand. "Oh... Umm... Here's your ice cream." He handed it to her. He looked in her eyes. He wasn't sure if it was from the lights of the building, or her eyes, but Tom could've sworn he saw some unique sparkle come from her eye.

"I'm guessing you're not from around here." Tom said.

 

"Would you like me to show you around?" Tom asked. He took a spoonful of his ice cream and ate it. Tom looked at Leah as she looked at her ice cream. The sunglasses made it difficult for Tom to read her expression, but he could guess she never had ice cream before. "I'm also gonna guess that you've never had ice cream before. Try some. It is delicious. It's a mixture of *says basic ingredients*."

Tom then suddenly thought of something and he smacked his forehead. "I'm so sorry. I completely forgot to introduce myself. Here I am, offering to show you around, and you don't even know my name. How stupid for somebody like me. I'm Tom."

 

"Nice to meet you Leah. Would you like to sit down somewhere?" Tom asked, gesturing to an empty booth. "I could tell you about this city. And you can talk about where you're from." Tom still wondered why her hair was pink. And he was curious to know why she had sunglasses on, But he would want her to explain. He didn't really want to bombard her with questions.

 

They sat down at the booth. "Okay. So New York." Tom started, thinking of something to say. "Well, it's the largest city in the world." He felt as though anything he'd say was common knowledge. He felt as though he was being an idiot, not being able to think of some cool fact. "Usually about this time of the year, we have snow. But for some reason, we haven't had any." Tom then looked out the window, to the clouds. He could see what the weather would be like this week. "Actually, thinking about it now, it should snow later today. Around... 6 o'clock would be my guess." Tom was starting to feel as though he was beginning to sweat. He couldn't think of a good topic to talk about, and he just said what the weather was gonna be like later today just by looking at the clouds. Not even the weathermen said anything about snow in their forcasts.

"I'm sorry." He appologized. "I keep on talking about obvious things. Heck, everybody knows about New York. And with the weather... Well I can't exactly explain it. This is gonna sound really strange. But for as long as I can remember, I've been smart. Smarter than anybody my age. I can look at something, or read an example on how to do something, and I'll just know how to do it. I can remember so much too. I'm sorry if I appear to be some wierd nerd who doesn't talk to people."

--Then the boulder came--

Tom looked at the boulder after hearing Alex yell. He knew how long it would take to hit them. 7.3954 seconds. Without thinking, Tom quickly got up and pulled Leah out of the way. The boulder rolled right next to them. Tom looked at Alex. "Alex. What was that?"

 

Nicole looked and before anyone could say or do anything she raised her hand causing a wall of stone to rise from the ground and stop the boulder and cause the icecream shop to go dark so no one could see. Nicole quickly ran to the door. She stopped though. She had an idea. She closed her eyes her body turning to water. She stepped outside.

"You know that's not a good idea." Nicole said. She looked at the figure. Her whole being was nothing but water.

 

Nicole looked down. She went down into the ground and was absorbed. She disappeared. Suddenly from below came up a stone pillar under the person. More rose. Nicole on one of them gripping on to dear life. 'I need to learn I don't have full control over Nature yet.' She thought to herself. Her whole being went from water to fire. She looked at him.

"Listen I don't care who you are, but bad idea messing with me." Nicole said.

 

Tom ran up to Alex. "Be glad I'm a genius." He muttered to Alex. He dragged Alex's body away, keeping his head stable. Once they were at a less chaotic area, Tom grabbed some first aid stuff and did what he could to keep Alex alive. "Not gonna let another friend die. I can save a life."
