Powers?

Leah shook her head "Dont be silly Aiden you aren't an idiot." she said. "There really is something odd going on with Nicole but we dont have time to chase her down and figure out what it is. If we take her powers then whatever spell Zero put on her will also fade away and then I guess I will take over her job."

 

Leah nodded but she didn't respond to his answer about her taking on Nicole's powers. But that wasn't her reason she didn't want to give anyone else the responsibility for maybe completely selfish reasons. She wanted to prove to herself that she could. She sighed and shook her head "I... dont want to erase her memories. That isn't fair to her." she said finally.

*Ok... so I guess I'm taking over Nicole. Someone please tell me if I should change this post*

Nicole watched the three leave with an annoyed expression. She turned back to Zero "I thought they would never leave!" she said "I'm sorry. They shouldn't be so mean. We should find my artifact."

 

Leah's eyes were wide with suprise and worry "But... how?" she said, too shocked and confused to keep her thoughts straight for a second. Then she pulled herself together, hiding her emotions up again. "We should hurry." she saw Tom appear not that far from them and looked at Aiden "Can you please explain to Tom what's going on. Maybe he'll have an idea on what to do. I'll be back in a minute." she dissapeared.

 

Nicole ran up to Aiden and Zero and looked horrified at the scene of Aiden pointing his blade at Zero. "Aiden stop! What's wrong with you!" she said, worried about Zero and angry at Aiden.

Leah had cut herself off from Aiden's mind. For now, she didn't want him to know where she went. If any of the others were powerful enough to scry for her or know where she was some other way she didn't know. She was back in London. The streets were empty and the black clouds in the sky cast a menacing shadow over the whole city. Leah felt cold and she could see the clouds of vapor with every breath she took as she walked down the eerie, abandoned streets. She stopped at the edge of the road, Malefest still lay there on the ground on the other side of the road. She had originally planned to kill him right then. To try to end this without the outcomes she knew would come with it the traditional way. She walked up to Malefest and a steel blade came to her hand. THe same one she had used to fight him earlier, tough the steel had changed color and looked almost white, there was still the strange appearence to the blade, the light movement across the blade almost looking like the blade was made of pure light instead of metal. She looked down at Malefest without hate or fear, just deturmination. She raised her sword, poised to strike him through the heart. She could see the hate in his unmoving eyes and her hands shook so bad that the tip of her sword was even quivering slightly.
If I kill him when he can't defend himself... am I any better than him?

 

Leah managed to stop herself from screaming as she fell to her knees, grasping at her wound. Glad that Aiden had healed her before now, Leah had the strength to heal herself but not all at once. She agony across her stomach gradually got a little better as she began to heal herself slowly, knowing she would need energy to defend herself as well.
Dang it! I shouldn't have hesitated. she chastized herself in her mind before looking up at Malefest, in attempt to keep him talking until she was ready to fight she acted as though she was already too weak to heal herself by keeping one arm wrapped around her injury and the other behind her as she pulled herself away from him. "You are stupid... if you think I... I came here alone." she said, adrenaline, pain, and worry were making it hard for her to speak clearly but she was sure it was still a convincing lie. She used a little telechanisis to move some of the rubble from the new destroyed buildings behind Malefest in the darkness. One of the bricks rose up a few feet and then dropped back to the pile of rubble sounding almost like someone tripped or jumped. She wasn't sure if it would work but it was the only thing she could think of to buy herself some time.

 

Leah looked around at the distruction created, coughing at the ammount of dust and smoke in the air. She looked down at Aiden and held on to his wrist as she teleported back to Novek, Tom, Alex, and Alexis.

She appeared where Aiden dissapeared still on her knees and Aiden laying on the ground in front of her. She didn't really seem to take time to acknowlege the others as she looked down at her friend "Aiden!" she was saying, panicked. He wasn't concious and she wasn't sure how much of his own health he had used to drive Malefest away, Teleport, and heal her in the same minute. Hardly anyone had lived through doing so much at once. "Aiden! Come on breathe." she tried to heal him but there werent any wounds for all she knew he had exhaused himself to death. She at least made sure he was going to live before worry was replaced by annoyance "Dang it Aiden! Im not as helpless as you seem to think I am." she stood up and looked at Tom and Novek "He's the fastest healer I know. It shouldn't take too long for him to wake up but Malefest is freed. We need to hurry to get the other artifact." she sighed and looked back at Aiden and then to Novek and Tom again "Tom, do you know where it is? Someone needs to watch over Aiden. Malefest will want revenge for what happened back there. In the mean time I'm going after the last artifact before it's too late."
