    If I recall correctly, Ash lost quite a few Gym battles the first time around too. Perhaps we should vote as to whether a trainer should win the Gym battles in the first attempt as well.

    I'm sure everyone remembers losing to Misty at least once the first time you ever played the game, I know I did. So it applies to the game as much as the anime.

    Just a suggestion for when that time comes anyway.

    Sidenote- I second Vox's idea

    I don't like voting for someone elses character's progression. Don't like the idea of someone elses vote deciding my fate in a battle i'm fighting on my own. Especially in a Gym Battle. Some Gym battles are easy some are hard. In the game i breezed through some of them with complete ease and some i had to go back and train so I say no to voting.

    I actually like Vox's idea, it's just how we would execute it all, and I agree with box, if there's one thing I hate more than anything is having to vote, there's too much of a chance of a popularity vote.

    Well, I have one option, although I'm pretty sure it won't be taken seriously unless everyone here has a computer. If we were to battle one another in the RP, we could always have a quick real game? There's something you can download, or play online I think, called Pokemon Showdown! in which you make your own team and battle other people. I use it all the time for fun and personal strategizing. Just an idea.

    I vote no on voting for gym battles too. That's simply deciding someone elses fate at that point.

    I don't think the battle should necessarily be redone. Maybe just pick it up where it left off (in the interest of time) with both Pokemon at roughly the same health and let things work out from there.

    So our Pokemon can die? Cool. Side note though, bad to follow Origin's example. Pokemon were shown to win over their individual typing superiority (Example being Giovanni's Rhyhorn vs. Red's Jolteon. Jolteon fell way too fast to Rhyhorn considering the moves that were used in that fight. Just some food for thought).

    That's because until you speedily won the battle, there wasn't much of an issue.

    Over or not (Which reading over your post to me it seems like you're throwing your personal opinion to take priority over the simulations KoD did), this debacle is important. Unless people decide in advance who is going to win if two of us compete against each other, we need to clarify battling rules so this sort of argument doesn't happen again.

    As for the fate of the battle, I support Wayward's idea.

    Even though breeding in X/Y gives multiple egg moves? (Having bred about 100 Eevees I know what I'm talking about). Okay. In that case I shall remove Metal Claw and Gible will only have 3 moves for the moment.

    Losing to Misty? I have no idea what you're talking about.

    After speaking with Vox, and both of us sick and tired of the argument, we've decided.

    We're going to do it how vox decided. Templates can be changed to list just the pokemon, gender, and nickname, the rest is going to be deleted.

    Next, we're moving on AS IS. The battle is going to be over, the battle is won by Aura, end of story. I was up for trying to settle on one way, but I'm sick of the arguing, so as the GM of this RP, it's set, it's done, we're moving on.

    If you have a problem with it, let me know and you can leave the RP. I know both Vox and I though want to move on and we're both sick of seeing the arguing, especially since twice I gave a resolution and meaning to what I did, but yet it was still argued even when I said we can redo it.

    So you know what nothing is changing.

    Angel you're up in the RP, unless you don't want to continue then I'll take over your character to get the story for those who still want to do this.

    Wait... So our pokemon won't have any moves listed in their template? So does that mean we can pull out any of the moves they can use?

    Keep them like what vox said and describe. The strongest moves in existence will come into play only when obviously they fit in the story, the pokemon is truly strong enough, or whatever.

    But are we still restricted to a set number of moves, or simply barred to those moves that are roughly on the level with where our Pokemon are at at this stage of the journey?

    Mostly going out to my team (though anyone can pick this up): I'm planning on giving Darrick and run-in and a brief battle against his father on the way out of town. If anyone is up to take control of said character for the purpose of the battle, it'd be appreciated; if not I can cover the battle myself, it would just feel less forced if I had someone else thinking out the battle behind the opponent...

    And if it means anything, Darrick will be losing that battle.

    You won't need to worry too much about how he's acting as I'll introduce him to start off (unless you want to take on the dialogue I've planned out as well) though he should be serious about the battle, but in a manner unusual for him (like he's got something else in mind other than just testing his son's ability).

    As for his Pokemon, it'd be something that is maybe inherently weak to Cyndaquil, but packing a move that gives it the edge (I was thinking a Treecko with Rock Tomb as an attack).

    It's not too late, you'll need to jump in later, probably at the next town, but Abyss, with your current activity record, I don't know if you can handle this RP.

    I'd rather see you read this RP and let me see how your activity sustains in Morph before I let you join this one.

    I take it that things like sleeping bags and such will be a given in our characters' packs? Or should our more mundane belongings be included as well?

    Also, Destiny: would you be able to respond to my question in my most recent PM some time soon?
