I plan on eventually facing them all. Still trying to get the Tourensol right now.

  3. I'll also give my hat to Seraphim Sephiroth. It took me a few times to kill him.

  4. dualblade

    dualblade Break!

I think I beat Ultima in the level 70s.The bigger problem was getting out of that damn place again for me.The Tournsol takes forever, but it is an awesome weapon! If only there was a way to get it early as a game breaker like the Zodiac Spear and Fomaulhunt...Speaking of which, that Antilion sucks when you first get the hunt for it!.Easier if you wait a bit,but still...

We're really supposed to be talking about random encounter-type monsters here, not bosses.

I thought of some more, though this is more of a type than a specific monster. I really hate those that steal from the party and take off with my stuff. VII had some that did this, and I think VIII and IX did as well, and probably some of the others did, too. I can recall losing (or almost losing) some really valuable items/weapons/accessories.

Bombs are also annoying. Just when I was ready to take that last attack and kill 'em (and get all the EXP and items), they'd go and blow themselves up and make fighting them a complete waste of time.

  6. That's the main thing that got me cursing at the screen.

    What was? Bombs or thieves?

  8. The bombs. I would usually get so close or get one critical hit, thinking that death would result but then have my dreams tossed on the floor like an old towel.

FFX's magic pots. I remember the first time my brother or I encountered one, it killed us with the self–destruct thingy it does.

Did those actually have a purpose? The most I ever got out of them (accidentally) was a few silver hourglasses (or some such useless item) that I already had a ton of thanks to the monster arena. Could you get anything good out of them?

And what was the most irritating about them was that I'd be running up and down in the cavern for hours trying to capture tonberries or one of the other practically nonexistent random encounters in there, and I'd continuously get into battles with these damn pots instead.

  11. Running into those damned Hungrys.

one of the most anoying enemies are the ones that fly and you don't have the right weapons to fight them, and magic or items aren't enough or you don't have alot of it, or the right kinds.

Post a little more than that from now on, please.

Wouldn't that be any monster, if you don't pay attention or have no idea what you're doing? I don't think there'd ever be a flying enemy if you weren't given access to long range weaponry, or magic, or some sort of item that could damage them, unless the fight was purposely made for you to lose. If you choose to not buy those weapons, or you haven't learned magic yet, or you don't have enough of the items, that's not the monster's fault.

I don't think I mentioned these yet. In FFX-2, in the piano-like area at the end, if you crash through one of the barriers you have to fight a pretty tough, annoying monster (can't remember the name). They weren't impossible to defeat, but they were still pretty unpleasant, especially if you weren't expecting anything.
