Oren heared the crowd cheer in the distance 'I wish I was there to see the princess, to be able to protect her.'

He returned to his hiding place crouched beside the door, out of sight of anyone coming to the door and at a view point were there was no chance of being caught off guard. He stayed on the balls of his feet ready to spring into action at any moment.

'I must be dilligent, keep my mind on task. I have to keep guard to the to the best of my ability if im ever to return the family honer'

 

Kia shifted uncomfortably in her now restricted space. WHy wouldn't the stupid coronation start already
I hate people. Oh, and lucky me, here come two more.
Clearly, the fact she was giving off the most unsociable vibes she could, was not enough to deter people from joining her in her prime spot on such an important occasion.
The first was a small girl, with bright blue hair. The second, a man about her age, with a scarf on his leg. She felt a stab of jealousy, as she realised maybe she wasn't that odd compared to a lot of people here after all. She would have to sort that out right away. Despite her silence, she loved that she was different, and the attention this got her.
She turned to Soldance, fully expecting to be rejected, but hoping that she'd be able to scare him off at least.
'I can't see. Can I sit on your shoulders?'

 

Hearing the request, he was actually surprise. 'Should I?' He thought. 'Maybe, or No?' He was fighting in his mind.

"Sure," he smiled nicely. 'Why did I said that, oh well.' He thought.

Crouching down, he waited for her to climb on him.

 

Kia fumed silently. Was she really that hard to read?? She just wanted to get rid of him !!
Well, at least she could see better, she thought.
She hoped the ceremony would be over quickly so she could go home.
Did they look like a couple?
She tried to ignore the little girls annoying chatter. Kia answered to no man.

 

As they entered the area for Aiko's coronation, Vent made a small motion to the other guards. Each one quickly took positions around the room. Vent continued to look around. Why do I get the feeling something is going to happen?

 

Gerik was waking through the castle. He had noticed somebody else sneaking through. But he decided not to bother her. After all, he was technically doing the same thing she was. Gerik saw the princess in the distance. There weren't any guards that could see him, but they would if he decided to get too close. He looked around for any options. He noticed some giant tapestrys hanging down. Gerik climbed up one. He was able to get closer to the princess without attracting any unwanted attention now.

 

Feeling uncomfortable around so many people, and the strange mannerisms of the Nobel and Country girl Kitaro decided to get himself away from the crowd.

He began walking to the side of were all the crowd were and headed to one of the open stall markets that were selling some delicious smelling foods. Asking for the cheapest thing possible the stall tender gave him a dirty look and handed him what seemed to be some sort of small rodent on a stick.

"Wow, despite its appearance and revolting smell this actually tastes pretty good" Kitaro smiled at the tender, which in turn earned him another dirty look.

Kitaro shrugged it off and went and began leaning on a wagon which still gave him more or less a view of the coronation.

 

Gerik was suprised at what happened. He looked over everything. In all the chaos, he could be free to do anything. But then he saw princess Akio fall unconscience. He knew what he needed to do, and what would happen to him for doing it. But his body already acted before he thought. He ripped off a piece of the tapestry and tied it around the lower part of his head, covering his mouth and nose. He jumped down and ran straight into the smoke.

Gerik reached Akio's body. He picked her up. He looked around, looking for any safe place nearby. But sadly, anyplace to stand had the smoke around it. Gerik ran off to Akio's room.

When he reached her room, which didn't have any smoke, Gerik set her on her bed. "Here's the part where I die for kidnapping the princess. I know that they won't believe me for saving her life." Gerik thought to himself. He sat down in a chair and watched Akio. He guessed that somebody might be after her, and would search for her. If he would have left her, there would be a chance that she would die.

 

As soon as the smoke bomb went off, Vent had tied a cloth around his nose and mouth. He was raised to protect the royalty, he was prepared for nearly anything. The smoke had cut off his visibility but he kept his eyes on the dully outlined shape of the princess. He was about to rush over to her when someone grabbed her and ran. Princess! Vent followed as quickly as he could and soon found himself right outside the princess' room. Vent drew one of his swords before shoving the door open with his shoulder. He quickly noticed her unconscious on her bed and a man watching her. "What have you done with the princess!?"

 

"I swear to you I've done nothing." Gerik said in a calm voice. He expected guards to think he'd done this attack. "I'm here because today the castle would be deserted. The princess's coronation would make the majority of the guards be in one location. And that presented me with a perfect opprotunity to explore. Now, that is the thing about me. I'm curious. I enjoy exploring this castle. When this attack started, I saw the princess get knocked unconscience. So to protect her from harm, I took her here. She's still alive. If you want, go and check her pulse. Just please put your weapon away. I only want to protect her."

 

Kia opened her eyes to find herself in a very unladylike position on top of Soldance, who appeared to be out for the count. She stood up and brushed down her dress, looking around herself at the rest of the crowd, some of whom still knocked out, others coming round like herself. The last thing she remembered was seeing the Princess approaching the stage, and then a big purple cloud of smoke.. and well, that was it. She climbed up onto the stage to have a better look round, seeing as most of the guards were still out, and she doubted anyone would care in the current chaos. Princess Aiko was nowhere to be seen. She pondered, and then something shiny caught her eye. It was so pretty. Surely no one would miss it would they? She smiled, but quickly realised how ridiculous she was being. Couldn't very well leave it here alone unattended though could she? Might be stolen. Might have been the whole point of the attack. Plus, if this was going on outside the castle, she was dying to see what was going on inside. And it was her duty as a citizen to protect the Princess and all. So she skipped over to the pedastal, popped, the crown onto her head, and made her way towards the castle. Maybe today had been worth coming out for after all...

 

Vent lowered his sword but didn't put it away. He walked over and checked the princess' vitals. She's ok, what releif. She should wake soon though. Guess he was telling the truth. Still shouldn't let my guard down though. Vent stood up staring at the stranger. "You said you like to explore the castle? Then that would make you the trespasser that we never seem to catch. Despite the good service you just did the country you're still in trouble for the trespassing."

 

"Yeah, probably." Gerik said. "But it's not like I've really done a bad thing. What is so wrong with exploring the castle. Do you honestly think that a castle this big should only have royalty and guards on a normal day? But it doesn't really matter." Gerik thought of something. "Are you gonna arrest me when the princess just got attacked and it may happen again? I can help you protect her." Gerik said. He tilted his head to the two swords on his back.

 

"I'll arrest you when this is all over. Civilians aren't allowed in the palace without reason and permission. You can't wander around simply because you want to." Vent looked the man over. He doesn't look like the dangerous type. In fact he looks weak. All the more reason to be cautious though. And he is right, he can help protect the princess. He can carry her and escape if I need him to. I know he's good at that considering he's managed to escape the royal guard so easily. "What's your name?"
