Joey spoke up when the Jacob decided to join in the fight." You see, the king couldn't defeat this evil corrupted man, because he was alone, But we are not. Their is strength in numbers. I think some of us have discovered some of the powers that sleep inside us. You Mr. Magic man have some incredible powers with your beams there. The princess here as some and others she has been hiding. I have discovered some of my powers, but you will be shown them in time. I must have something to surprise the enemy, if they are spying on us. You My young friend Jacob have powers too, I can sense it. But I must say that great powers comes great responsiblity, and if you mis use these powers you yourself can end up like the evil man. But Don't worry, I will get my revenge on Lucious for all he has done to me and maybe you Jacob.

 

Gerik had been silent the whole time. He was looking around, taking everything in. Through all his travels, he had never once been here. He recalled hearing the Goddess's voice once before, very long ago, but he never saw her. When Aleta spoke of doing this alone, he decided to speak. "I will be here to help you."

 

Jacob looked over at the strange man speak. His voice was entirely different from what Jacob imagined it to be. He walked over to the man.
"I assume your name is Gerik, correct?" Jacob asked, trying to be nice. He held his hand out. "Well, mine is Jacob."

 

Joey thought to himself for a while, then he gave an expression that made the godess give a quick glance at him. That boy, Jacob, I remember him now! he's Ilia's little boy!!! But I thought that he died with his parents in the invasion that Lucious led into the village!!! they must have hid him, and he must have came out of hiding after I had left. Joey approched Jacob and asked,"Jacob I need to tell you something important, but in private."

 

Jacob looked over at Joey, who was practically beaming. "Um... sure, why not?" they walked over to the side, away from everyone else. "What is it you need to tell me?" Jacob asked. Joey looked to make sure no one was listening.

 

"Jacob, I knew your father......Link. it was because of me he died." Joey took another breath."you just turned 4 years old, when Lucious came with his shadow army. He attacked the village. Me and your father were defending againest the attack. after battling for what seemed hours, your father told me to retreat back to the village with the rest of the men. I refused to retreat, and show that I was a coward, but that act was the biggest mistake ever. an enemy archer had shot an arrow right at me, but your father pushed me out of the way. I have regretted that for my whole life. I soon left after that, because I couldn't bare to be in the place where it was my fault my u...... my best friend was killed."

 

Jacob opened his eyes to find that the four of them were now back in the clearing where they had fought the dragon. Jacob looked around to see the dead dragon, empty eyes starring at them. He sighed. Back home.

"Well now, this is interesting. What are we to do next?" Jacob asked. He turned to Joey. "We'll continue talking later about Father."

 

"We travel north." Gerik answered. "In the mountains of the north are the ruins of the old kingdom. The mountains are filled with stories of curses and monsters. It is the perfect place to start." Gerik took of his cloak. He had no need for it anymore. His armor shone in the light that started to break through the clouds. His silver hair shined too.

 

Joey said to himself, yes I'll tell him then, the truth. Joey then heard a cracking sound behind him. He slowly turned to see a giant egg hatch. out came a dragon that looked like the dragon they just killed! It's eyes open to see Joey and it jumped on him. Joey thought it was going to eat him, but it licked him instead, with it's slimy tounge.

 

Gerik looked at the baby dragon. "You've never raised a dragon before, have you?" He said, knowing the answer. "It takes a long time. Longer than you'd live. But I'll allow the dragon to come along. But we need to get going now."

 

Jacob laughed when the baby dragon licked Joey. "Well, look at that. That must be why the dragon attacked us. It was a mother!" he walked over to the little dragon and patted its head. It stuck its nose and sniffed him. He laughed.

"Look Joey, there's nothing to be afraid of." he commented, looking over at Joey.

 

Jacob walked over to Aleta. He could tell she felt uneasy about all this. "Look, it'll be okay. We'll save the Kingdom and your father. I know what's it's like to lose one. You shouldn't go through the same thing." he stepped forward, then stopped as visions flashed across his eyes. He shook his head to get rid of them, but they wouldn't go away. Leave me alone! he thought. But the visions got even more brutal, until finally Jacob fell to the ground.

 

"the only thing I'm afriad of is dying of being licked to death." Joey said as Joey pushed the baby dragon out of his face. "And the matter of fact I do know about dragons I had one before, my dear Princess you use to play with it remember? you and me would seek out of the castle on it? But sadly it died when I got this." Joey took his helmet and you could see a giant scar going down Joey's right side of his face, right down through his right eye." and I have read about these type of dragons before, they can fly at birth. and if it can fly, it can fly to the old kingdom."

 

"A newborn dragon isn't strong enough, nor big enough to carry us all." Gerik said. He picked up Jacob and threw him over his shoulder. "We ride by horse. It's a day's travel from here if we don't stop at all. Be prepared for what will be waiting for us."

 

"I have one." Gerik answered. "And you're the princess. And we're standing in a royal army camp. I'm sure we could aquire three more horses. You do know how to ride a horse, right?"
