Kingdom Hearts Ultima

Reon watched as the boy who had just been able to defeat him without even trying simply disappear into the shadows as he turned a corner. He got up and brushed the sand off his body and looked down at the splintered and shattered practice sword he had made with his won hands. It was made from the wood of the strongest tree in Destiny Islands so he was truly surprised and almost frightened that such a boy his own age could be so powerful as to break it without even really trying to do anything at all. What kind of kid is this, he thought. No one could ever be that strong! I mean...at least not me. Pushing the thoughts out of his head he looked to the right and saw Destiny and Johnny talking to each other and next to them, Alice. He hadn't spoken to them all day. He felt silly. So picked up the splinters and threw them into the foaming sea and walked towards their location. After passing the spot were he had met the strange boy the same chill ran over his body and he gritted his teeth. "Phew, it's really cold over there," he said to himself as he approached the group.

Waving and speaking with a slightly louder voice he called out to Alice, Johnny, and Destiny in a friendly and jolly salutation, "Hey, guys. How are ya?"

 

Tom woke up again. He sat up, yawned and stretched. He scratched the back of his head and looked around. "Dang... Destiny hasn't tried dragging me around the island yet. Works for me. I'm not complaining. Looks like I've got a little more fortune today." Tom stood up and walked towards the railing that prevented people from falling down. "Perhaps I should just dive in here. Just to avoid Destiny. And maybe get a little snack before lying down again."

 

The boy nodded.
"My name is Yale. I'm usually homeschooled so I'm not surprised this is the first time we have met" he told her, lying. He didn't want to tell them of the upcoming threat at this very moment. "I think I'm going to school next year though. Isn't it the summer holidays for you guys now?"
The warm breeze touched Yale's cheek, as it whistled in the background.

 

Johnny set up a small area by the papau tree with his sleeping bag. This was the best spot on the island and he wanted to spend the night there. He set his cd player down and took off his headphones. He figured that at least while he got his little 'campsite' set up, he could listen to the natural music of the world. The sound of the waves, the chirping of birds, the whislting wind. He just loved it. It took him half an hour but finally he had it set up and even had a small fire going. "Well, wonder when th others are gonna come over here. I know I'm not the only one who was planning this."

 

Yale loosened his tie and the top buttons on his shirt, noticing the hot weather. He then placed the tie in his trouser pocket. The boy looked around and smiled.
"I would like that" he told Destiny. Yale was surprised at himself as to how social he was. He usually was very quiet and kept to himself but there was something about this island; something to be happy about. Also, he never really spoke to someone his own age, especially girls...

A few hours later, as the skies became black and the stars shone brightly, Yale looked at the stars in amazement. He could see everything! He was amazed and for the first time, he felt happy to be in such a world. He wanted to be normal. He didn't want to be a part of the UDC anymore. He sighed and frowned, looking at the stars, lying on the beach.

 

Tom walked along the wooden path away from where he was resting. "Oh hey. There's Destiny. Let's see if I can avoid her sight and get to my boat. Hmm... She's... With a boy. I don't think I've ever seen him before. Well, at least he seems to be distracting her. Maybe I can get off this island after all."

 

Tom kept on walking. He felt a surge of pain course through his head. He felt lightheaded and heard some voice speak through his head. "The Destiny of the Ultima lies in the children's hands." "What the hell?" He thought to himself as he held his hand against his head. He didn't know why he did it, but Tom turned towards Destiny. "Great... She saw me." He muttered to himself. "I'm not escaping this." He started walking towards her.

 

"Sleeping." Tom answered. "I was gonna go home, buuuuuut..." Tom stretched out the 'but' a bit. "I got this really strong headache, saw you, and started walking over here. The strange thing about the headache is that it ended just as soon as it started." Tom contemplated about mentioning the voice. But he wasn't sure about it or what it meant. He wasn't even sure if he actually heard anything.

Yale was reminded of his family as he noticed how everyone was so together in the camps. He missed having friends and mostly his family. On his home world; the Desolum Domain, there were two kingdoms. The Desolanians and the Solanians. They were at war but it was only because of the Solanian's violent nature. 4 years ago, Yale's town was attacked by the Solanian Empire and the Desolanian forces were weak in comparison to the other side. Buildings were devestated and inflamed. His parents tried to protect him by trying to stall and as he was told to run, they were killed in front of him. Yale barely made it away from the town and he was stranded in the plains with no water or food. He was faraway from civilization and he was sure he was going to die. He stayed there for a few days, scared of how his life was going to change. He had no where to go, no one to look to. No food, no water, no hope but then like a guardian angel, an orange and yellow beast of metal fell from the skies and landed beside him. A man stepped out offering him help. Yale asked him why and the man, who was called Teho told him that he had a strong heart and he was destined for great things. For the next 4 years, this man became a new found father and a teacher. He learnt everything he knew from Teho and Yale specialized in sword combat and melee combat. Now, for the first time in years, he was alone again. It felt strange but he shook his head. He had to remain professional. He was a part of the UDC after all. He had to be strong hearted, strict and powerful but also compassionate for all beings. He had to be a hero like his parents were. He had to make them proud. Suddenly he had a pounding head ache and his vision became blurry. He saw a woman with wings smiling at him from faraway. She looked very blurred. She spoke to him.
"The Destiny of the Ultima lies in the children's hands"
She vanished and then his headache thinned out. His vision, then returned soon afterward.
"That is weird. What's Ultima? I must be tired."

Yale jumped up when his name was addressed because he was deep in thought.
"Oh...hey..."
He was told to not connect with someone on a world too much but there was something about this island that brought everyone together and he wanted to be a part of that. He could bend the rules a little...he looked at the group, smiling awkwardly.
"Hey..."
He blushed, knowing he already said 'hey'. He really hasn't spoken to anyone other than his masters and especially people who were his own age since he left Desolum Domain. He was the youngest ever person to join the UDC.
"I just came in the neighborhood this morning." He rubbed the back of his neck. "It's nice to meet you"

 

Yale frowned, knowing that he shouldn't tell her but what could happen if he told her? Nothing. She looked nice enough and he liked the idea of telling his story to her. He walked over to Destiny and looked at the starlit reflection of the ocean.
"I'll tell you...but only you....I'm not supposed to tell anyone." He sat down and sighed. "Can I trust you?"
