Kingdom Hearts: The Resistance

A blazing sky loomed above Leonardo as he walked through a scattered ruin. Everywhere was debris and rubble. The air smelled of smoke and blood. He looked up to the moon to only be blinded by its red gaze. "What is this place?" he asked himself as he walked onward. In the distance he could hear someone crying, a girl, yes, that's what it was. He searched for the source and found located at the edge of a puddle. The puddle was blazing red from the red moon as Leonardo stepped closer. He got closer and could faintly make out that it was a head of orange hair. He squinted and confirmed that it was Nozomi. "What?! What's going on?!" He ran to her and knelt beside her and held her shoulders. She continued to weep and he shook her gently, "Nozomi, Nozomi?"
"Gone...all gone," she sobbed.
"Who is gone? Tell me..."
"Oh, no...no..."
The air began to feel suffocating as a ear-piercing cry echoed. Leonardo turned around to see the same Heartless before. Only this time it had no weapon. "Wha-"
He jerked back and looked down at his chest. His chest oozed blood and a black hand was stuck within it. He looked up to see the same yellow eyes beaming into his mind and lifted his head up to cry out to the dark heavens.

"AAAAAAAAHHHH!" he woke up in his bead, chest heaving, head throbbing, cheeks hot with cold sweat. He swallowed and held his chest, it was fine...but it felt strange. "That thing isn't gone...it only finished becoming stronger...it's complete...damn it..."

 

When Crystle and Motx had left Zack's mind was swarming with questions. He had heard Crystle ask for him to meet her in the throne room, but he hadn't answered. "Damn it!" Zack said in frustration as he hit the ramp he was sitting on with the side of his fist. It hurt, but he didn't care. He was so annoyed at how out of the loop he was.

Deciding that he could get a few answers off Crystle he made his way to the throne room like she had asked.

 

"Couldn't tell." Motx said to Nozomi's comment of the conversation being depressing. They walked through the portal. He turned to face Shiro. "We're not going to look for anybody. Especially somebody who's been dead as long as Sora. Just go and find Castle Oblivion. Once everybody is gathered there we can return light to the world. Hell, we just need my heart to do it. If you find Castle Oblivion, come find us and lead us to it." Motx then turned and finished walking through the portal.

Sounds of waves could be heard from the portal's exit. Motx sighed and slightly leaned on Nozomi. "Here we are. The darkest place in the world. The place I woke up." They were on a beach. In front of them was an ocean, as far as the eye could see. They were at the edge of the realm of darkness (Not dark Destiny Islands, but the area Sora and Riku get to at the end of KH2).

 

"If you want to go into a deep talk about it, you could say that light is actually more evil." Motx said. "Hundreds of years ago, light filled the world. There was so much more light than ever before. There wasn't an ounce of darkness to be found. A keyblade wielder could be found just about anywhere. But then, people began fighting over the light. And so, darkness was born. And darkness being light's counterpart has a natural desire to consume it. And so we are now in the current world. Darkness' desire to consume the light, and Masen's eternal desire."

 

He sat up in his bed and looked out to the pearl white moon and sighed. He looked down from its light and looked at the palm of his hand. He felt as if something had left from him. It wasn't something that he had wanted to lose either. He felt somewhat heavier, less lighter than he had been before. Maybe it was the food that he had secretly eaten before sleeping...No, he thought, it couldn't have been something small like that. He thought back to his dream and began to recall the image of the same shadow of himself. He smiled a little bit at the idea of a Shadow Leonardo then immediately frowned at the very thought. That thing, it knew every single thing that I knew, he thought. If that's the case, then why didn't it just heal itself and keep coming at me? This thought stayed with him for several more minutes until another daunting thought crept into his mind. "Nozomi," he whispered. Something happened after I blacked out...I sort of feel like something is missing from me...like...like lost...

He looked up and stared at the wall. It looked darker than before.

"Time..." he said, voice drifting off into the night and disappearing within its black veil. I lost time...? What?

 

Zack was lost in his thoughts when Crystle opened the door to come in he jumped a little.

"Hey" Zack said as she finished speaking. She was right, he had a ton of questions swimming through his head, the problem was because of the many questions he wasn't sure where to start.

Zack took in a deep breath. "Alright, first things first, what's happening with Nozomi?" He asked. "And then, What's the story with the Kawi kid. And what the heck is this a hear about you having someone residing in your body? It sounds kinda dodgy" He let the last one off with a smile. After he had asked all the questions he began pacing up and down the room. Eventually he got annoyed with himself and made himself sit down. "Oh, and I don't suppose you would mind telling me what's going on in the resistance?" He asked finally.

 

"He was fighting for what he believed to be right." Motx answered. "Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Tom, and millions of others, believe that Masen's rule is evil and must be stopped. It is because of that belief that he was willing to fight to his death. He had no fear fighting Masen. Hell, he knew that the odds were against him. But the way I see it, as long as there is something worth fighting for, you should fight for it with all your heart."

Kawi woke up from his sleep. He looked outside at the garden and it was still dark and the flowers weren't showing in their bright colours because you couldn't see them but even though, it was still night, Kawi felt ready to wake up. He changed into his brown 3/4 pants, his blue shirt and placed the crown shaped anklet he found on the day when he awakened. He looked like a spitting image of Sora, when he was 14, on his first adventures. He stepped into his blue clown like shoes. He sighed happily, knowing he's about to have an adventure of a lifetime.

He walked outside, seeing two people he recognized.
"Hey, uh....what are your names again? I can't remember?"

Shiro walked over to the three.
"We should go. There isn't much time left" he told them.

 

Kage was about to leave the Alter of Naught when a Neoshadow appeared before him. "Report." The heartless scratched a door onto the floor. "You've found it?" It nodded and then vanished. Kage followed it's energy and took his own dark corridor. He appeared in a large room with thirteen giant chairs around a large Nobody insignia in a circle. The old organization throne room. Kage thought. The Neoshadow pulled Kage towards the back of the highest throne and began pointing at the chair. Kage actually gasped at what he saw.

On the back of the chair was a large door, at least seven feet high. It looked as if it was built into the chair itself. In the door's center was a large symbol which Kage had never seen before. It looked like the left half of the Heartless symbol combined with the right half of the Nobody symbol. Ontop of that strange design was a keyhole. Kage placed his hand on the door and pushed but it didn't budge. "Hmm..." He charged his fist with dark energy and then punched the door. The symbol glowed at first but then the keyhole shined brightly and Kage was blasted back. "Pathetic door." Kage drew out his sword and charged it with more energy than he had with his fist and plunged the blade into the center of the keyhole symbol. Again it glowed but then the keyhole shined and he was blasted back. With a frustrated grunt Kage sheathed his sword and closely examined the door.

It's reacting to my dark energy but refusing to open. I'm guessing that darkness is part of the key then. Wait... key! This door must require a dark Keyblade! Now that's a slight problem. Lord Masen doesn't have any Keyblade wielders under his command, mainly from our destruction of all who have the ability. So then... ah, I know who will open this. Kage starightend himself and snapped his fingers. Multiple Orcus Heartless appeared. "Nobody is to go near this door but myself, Shayde and Lord Masen. Slaughter anyone else that comes here." The heartless all nodded as Kage opened up a dark corridor. "Kawi..." he muttered as the corridor closed behind him.

 

"Not really. I'm free to do what I want. Never really figured I had a reason. Fighting for a reason requires emtions needed to sustain that reason. Since I have no emotions, I cannot keep a reason to fight. I just do things. And now, I am helping you. Just because. No other real reason behind it."

 

Kawi nodded.
"It's nice to meet you"
He shook their hands, being his old fashioned like self and then he turned to Shiro.
"He is right. We have to go. The darkness are probably one step ahead of us."
The keyblader stepped forwards, wanting to go but he didn't know where the gummi ships were so he stopped.
"Uh...where exactly is that..." he asked, scratching his head.

 

Zack hadn't been paying attention so when Kawi went to shake his hand he was a little slower than normal. Not only that but he hadn't said a word since he had come in. Crystle then headed off to her ship and the rest followed. Zack stood up and thought that Kawi either saw him as an incredibly unsocial or he may have come across as not liking him. Guess ill have to fix that when we get on bored Zack thought to himself.

"Is everyone on bored and accounted for?" Zack asked once he got on bored.

 

"No feeling. Not for a Nobody at least." Motx answered. He faked a smile. "No feelings. All fake. If there was a feeling, I suppose it would be boredom. Or depression. I think I'd feel sad about not having emotions if I had a heart. But it is very liberating. Lets me be free of concerns."

 

Stumbling into the Gummi Ship with a granola bar in his mouth and large can of soda was Leonardo. He looked up and smile nervously at his leader, Crystle, and Kawi. Immediately, he snapped into a sharp salute to Zack and smiled and Crystle and Kawi. "Sorry about this sir," he began, "I was having a hard time waking up and I hardly finished getting ready for today, sir." He quickly got into a seat and sat down, finishing the granola bar and his eyes locked onto the entrance for Nozomi to come in. He felt a little off from the dream he had but kept his face straight and smiled agan as his eye drifted back to Kawi. He looked different. Nice style, he thought.
