Light in the Hand

Leonardo looked behind him to see his two friends trying to figure out what to do. The place was falling apart and they had a Heartless of him ready to kill them. The Heartless had staggered a bit from the attack of Kawi but managed to heal itself with the spreading darkness of the room. What the hell have I been doing all this time? I promised...I promised myself that I would never let this happen again. Leonardo, still clutching his chest, cursed under his breathe and began to feel energy rise within him. No...I won't let it happen! Light bloomed from his right hand and Kingdom Key appeared in his hand and he got up. The Heartless turned around and stared at him before charging at him. I'm not afraid anymore!

Leonardo followed suit and charged at the Heartless, "Yaa!" he shouted out as he clashed Keyblades with the monster. "I won't let you hurt my friends anymore!" he pushed forward and sent the Heartless back a bit but it held its ground and returned the favor by unleashing a powerful kick to Leonardo's chest. The hit connected and he was sent back one foot. As he fell back, he felt his feet leave him and began to rise into the air by a few degrees. He bent his body backwards and flipped, landing on his feet and sliding back. He turned to see his friends still trying to regain their composer. I need to keep this thing away from them, he thought. He looked back to see the Heartless three inches away from him and raised his Keyblade up, guarding himself. Damn he's fast!

The Heartless slammed its Keyblade hard on Leonardo's Keyblade and the force pushed him towards the wall. "Guh..." he grunted as his back bounced off the wall. Relentlessly, the Heartless continued its assault by rushing at him with a powerful Sonic Blade maneuver. "Woah!" Leonardo rolled to the side and what would have been him the wall was blown into and the Heartless realized that he had escaped from getting destroyed by its assault. Crap...this things knows everything that I do, so I need to be careful.

After the Heartless yanked its tool of destruction out of the devastated wall, Leonardo charged forward and attacked it with a series of Keyblade strikes. "Ha! Ya! Raah!" at the final move he struck the Heartless with a powerful upper slash that sent it into the air. Leonardo crouched down, feeling the muscles in his legs loading for a high jump, "I'm not down with you yet!" he bellowed out and shot up towards his enemy. "Take this! Zantetsuken!" He spun his weapon powerfully and rotated in the air and swung out, a red aura trailing from the Keyblade he held so tightly in his hand. But he was only met with a powerful barrier that could only be known as a reflect barrier. "Damn!" the barrier dispelled and with it, powerful bursts of energy that sent Leonardo back to earth. His body bounced from the impact of the ground and then settled. "Ugh..." he groaned as he struggled to get up.

When he got back up, he realized that the Heartless had disappeared from the air. "Wait, what?!" But his thoughts were interrupted when he felt a powerful Strike Raid cut into his back. "YAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!" he cried out as he fell to the marble floor. "He got me...damn..."
He got back up but froze in his tracks when he felt the Heartless behind him. It teleported?!! Leonardo flew to the opposite side of the room and hit the opposite wall, making a small crater within it and slumping to the floor. "Man...not a good day."

Kawi looked at his feet with astonishment.
"What just happened!?"
He looked up at Nozomi.
"Are you two ok?"
"Yeah. It was you who saved us, wasn't it?"
He smiled and hugged Nozomi. He was about to become non-existent and he felt his soul almost being as it was before the incident happened. He then remembered the moment, when he clutched onto Nozomi, while the darkness was trying to sink into him. He figured out from this that she felt more than a best friend to him. She felt more than that and as a 13 year old boy, he did not understand these feelings. His cheeks went red, as he held onto the girl.

 

Leonardo slowly opened his eyes and was nearly blinded by the brightness of the room. Wait what...am I dead? The last time he remember the three of them, he, Nozomi, and Kawi were fighting for their very lives as the world itself was crumbling. He had been struggling with the Heartless that had been created by him and was knocked unconscious after taking a serious beating from the Heartless. When he opened his eyes again, he could see clearly that he had not died that the room that was once in jeopardy of being completely eclipsed by darkness had finally returned to normal. I wonder what happened? He got up and realized that he felt completely fine. It was strange though, he felt at his full 100% self. Weird...something weird just happened but I have no idea what had happened. When he stood up he dispelled his Keyblade and turned around to see Kawi clinging to Nozomi. Had Leonardo been a rash individual he would've torn him from her due to the immense rush of jealousy he felt from seeing it.

Hiding this from his facial expression he walked towards them and smiled, resisting the urge to part them least he wanted to expose anything of a less than professional relationship.

 

Kawi smiled but as she looked around and then hugged him tighter afterwards, he felt worried. In the letter, he knew she was different like him and this was worrying him. Was she safe? He frowned and looked down.
"Is something bothering you, Nozomi?" he asked. "You can trust me"
He held her hand, trying to give her comfort. He looked over at Leo and blushed. He was making a scene infront of someone....but he was genuinely worried about his best friend and time was going fast...too fast. He also realised at that moment that they had to start preparing for the next battle. In the morning, they will set off.

 

Kawi felt his eyes droop, as he saw his surroundings getting purple. It wasn't black but because of the light around the castle, it was not entirely pitch black.
"I think perhaps a good night's sleep is in order" Kawi told them. He walked out of the room. He yawned and waved.
"Good night, Nozomi."
He walked down the hallway and the broomstick that helped him earlier bowed down to him. Kawi nodded and asked him, "are there any rooms?"
The broom jumped up and down and showed him inside a small room with blue walls and clouds formed on the ceiling. Kawi sat down on a double bed, which covered the majority of the room and looked at the bedside table, which had an empty glass cup. Suddenly a fragment of the clouds above hovered down and rained water onto the cup, filling it up. Kawi smiled and gulped down the water, realizing he was thirsty. He thought it was cool because he never saw clouds acting this way before.

 

"Motx." He replied, standing up. He took a deep breath. "Light is returning to this world. I might have to leave soon. And..." He smelt the air again. "I may have to take one of your friends with me. The light may be too much for either of us. We'll vanish, and soon. So, for your friend's safety."

 

Leonardo, feigning his jealousy, placed his hands behind his head and leaned back, tilting his head in the opposite direction of Nozomi. "Eh...at least things are back to normal." He stared at the white ceilings of the room and realized that Kawi had left and followed the same broom from before. He thought back to how Kawi had finished off his strange doppleganger and absorbed himk and the thought made him sudder. I've never had darkness before like the others...but...at the same time, I never really could sense the presensce of it. Suddenly, a wet, metallic scent creeped into his nostrils. "It smells like blood..."

He turned his head to the scent and found the source of it, Nozomi. He stared at her with a strange shock, as if he had met a new person. Darkness...he thought. "Nozomi...? Did something happen?" He was surprised that he was even able to smell darkness. He had been told that when certain individuals are changed by the slightest touch of darkness they are able to sense it within others and themselves. He gagged on his own breath and realized that he tasted blood, yet there was no blood. Damn...I have it too. Was it the doppleganger? He shifted his eyes from Nozomi's but they locked right back into her's.

In a voice of conviction he let his hands drift from the back of his head and he spoke again, "Nozomi...please, tell me what happened. You don't have to tell anyone else." In the back of his mind he scolded himself for speaking to her in such a manner. Way to break the ice, dumbass.

 

Zack was kind of out of it. He was pretty tired from the previous events and when he had finished talking with Crystle and she had sat down beside him he was letting his mind wander.

Zack heard the words being spoken but he didn't register them until Crystle looked at him and then asked

Zack suddenly stood up, to quickly in fact, because his head began spinning and he held onto Crystle's shoulder so he wouldn't fall back down. "Take one of our friends?. I don't think so" Zack said it calmer than he thought he would have. Once the dizziness wore off he let go of Crystle's shoulder and put one foot in front of the other and put his hands into fists. He wasn't in a fighting stance but the way he was standing was a rather defensive.

 

"The friend is Noz... Nao... Nozomi." Motx answered, thinking of her name. "Not to take her away permanently. But she cannot stay here. Kawi restored the full light to this world. Beings of the darkness such as Nozomi and I cannot remain without being destroyed. I'm not looking to fight you. But Nozomi just lost her light. I can smell her darkness. And besides, aren't we all going to Castle Oblivion to fix everything? You'll meet up with us there when everybody is ready."

 

"If you want to go into the technicalities, she still is." Motx answered. "For a simple explanation.... Just consider her to be a Nobody like me. Even though she still has her heart, I can't feel any light from her. I don't know what she did, but I know that she doesn't have her light with her right now. But once everything is fixed, I'm certain she'll get her light back."

 

Leo stood there in hallway and cleared his throat. He felt rather stupid standing out in the middle of an abandoned hallway like a lost soul with nowhere to go. He turned around and opened the door to his room and closed the door. "Maybe you're right Nozomi," he began, staring at the shag carpet and the single white twin size bed that was a little to small for him and he smiled to himself as he remembered the warm hand that touched his forehead. He raised his hand to touch his own forehead and brought it back when he felt the coldness of his own skin drawing away from the warm touch. What a fool, he thought blushing at his own thoughts. Nozomi is just being a good friend, nothing more...still.

He sat at the foot of his bed and began to undress down to his underwear and reached for his white shirt and black shorts and laid back in the bed and rested his head on the pillow. He licked his lips and tasted the same metallic taste and sighed. Damned darkness...

 

"Of course." Motx answered as his body vanished.

He appeared by Nozomi. "It is time for the two of us to leave. The light will remove our exsistance if we don't go." A portal opened up for the both of them. "Don't worry too much about it. I'm certain you'll get your light back when this is all over."

 

Kawi rested his head, on his cloud like pillow and he closed his eyes, hearing the whistling of the wind. It always seemed to calm him. This day was stressful to him but it was wonderful to know that he could rest in peace for one night. He looked over at the stars and smiled, knowing that now he was exploring the worlds like he has always wanted; like Sora wanted and even though he wasn't related to Sora, it felt like Sora was his uncle aswell like Shiro. He turned in his bed and closed his eyes feeling relaxed.

Shiro was in his bed and he was sleeping in a large room compared to his old one in Destiny Islands, where he was alone. On the day when the Forgotten attacked Destiny Islands, Sora and Riku disappeared and his Aunt Kairi was killed, including his parents. This saddened the boy greatly, wanting a family...but he was an orphan. Now he felt he was with family, he was with the Resistance. His plan was to get his uncle back so he would have family left. He wanted to find Sora greatly. He got out of his pajamas, troubled by this and changed into his clothes. He wanted to have a walk. With his hands in his pockets, he walked along and found Nozomi and Motx.
"It is time for the two of us to leave. The light will remove our existence if we don't go." Motx told Nozomi. A portal appeared infront of the two and Shiro, wanting to get back to finding Sora ran towards them.
"WAIT!"
Shiro was out of breath, as he reached them.
"Let me go with you. I want to find my uncle. He's my only family left. His name is Sora."

 

Kage had been walking through the Castle That Never Was since his fight with Vanitas. Since the Unverse source had fled, he went back to searching for his other target; the doorway to the crossroads that was shouted about during the event on Hollow Bastion. I have Heartless searching for anything out of the ordinary. After I find it, I will corrupt it to the darkness. Then I'll find Vanitas and take his power for my own. Now, where is that door? Kage was currently heading up to the Alter of Naught. As he reached there, he saw the crumbled remains of the door used by the heroes to fight Xemnas. Kage sighed, the search was growing tedious.
