Taliena drew back slightly as the female figure, obscured by the nighttime darkness, and the ever heavier falling rain approached her, clutching her fancy cane, which clunked on the ground as she edged forward. The nobody's thoughts shifted from caution to paranoia as the female erected a barrier around the two of them, which, while blocking out the rain, also seemed to hold her within its premise. Yet there wee no visible signs of ill intent, nor were there any hints to Taliena's intuition that she was in any danger with this person. To her slight advantage though, she was able to better discern the appearance of her company, now that she was up close (and the flash of light preceding the barrier's erection was a helper as well). She could see clearly that this was a girl that was around her age, nineteen, maybe eighteen, or twenty years. She was also, if Taliena could be modest enough to admit it, almost as stunningly glamorous as she was. Of course, she still, in this mistress' opinion, was far from her quality.

Such a trinket would go marvelously with my collections, I must say.

"Why yes honey," she said, effortlessly masking her inner intentions. "Nearby the castle, there is an outpost headquarter, where you should be able to find someone who works with the defense forces. I dare say that the leader would not be in though. He has more important matters to tend to in these darkest of times, than negotiating with perspective members. Actually, I happen to be heading to the castle myself. I could introduce you to someone there, if you would be so kind as to join me. What say you?"

"So what do you do in the resistance?"
"Hmm?" Reyox had been thinking intently about what could have happened to the scouts when Vent asked him a question. However, as Reyox hadn't been paying attention, he didn't hear what the question was. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"What do you do in the resistance?"
"Oh. I'm usually given stealth or scouting missions because I can hide myself pretty well. But I'm also sent out with others on attack missions because I'm a very powerful warrior."
"So they just send you where they need you?"
"Exactly. I end up traveling a lot but I'm fine with it. Whatever I can do to stop this war, well I'm willing to do it."
"So what do you think I'll be doing?" Vent was curious to know how he might be put to use.
Reyox stayed silent, he didn't really have an answer. But he wasn't about to leave Vent's question hanging in the air either. "I'm not sure. As a keyblade warrior, you're sure to be sent on important missions. However, we have no idea of your skills, loyalties, or history. You're likely to get tested when we arrive to see if we even should use you."
"Oh." Vent was a little saddened but he knew that Reyox was right. Other than his keyblade and desire to stop the darkness, they would know nothing about him. If he wasn't tested it would likely causevsome unforseen problem in the future.

The two kept walking through the rain to the city. As they were reaching a large hill just outside the city gates, Vent noticed someone lying in the mud. He quickly ran up to the person and Reyox, noticing the same thing, followed. As they reached the person they noticed it was a girl dressed in mostly black, and that she was unconscious. Vent knelt down beside her and tried to wake her up.
Reyox though was thinking about her appearance. When Severi told me to find a dark girl, I asked a few soldiers for a quick description of her appearance. This girl matches the descriptions almost perfectly. But I'm not sensing any dark energy from her. Perhaps because she's unconscious? Or because this isn't the right girl? Thats when Vent spoke to Reyox, breaking his chain of thought. "We need to get her to a hospital or something. Can you carry her?"
Reyox sighed, "Yes I could, however I have a dilemma. I was ordered to track down a girl using darkness once I returned from checking the scouts. She matches the girls description almost perfectly. Yet I don't sense any darkness from her. I'm debating whether to take her to a hospital or to our headquaters."
"That's simple, the hospital. You said you don't sense any darkness from her so obviously she can't be who you're looking for. Besides, what's wrong with someone who uses darkness? As long as they aren't evil then I don't see a problem with it."
"If you value your life, never repeat that to Severi."
    "What, the darkness thing?"
"Yes. Severi hates everything to do with darkness, whether people use it for good or evil doesn't matter to him. He may be a little extremist, however he's a brilliant leader that has yet to fail us so we deal with it. If he heard you say that, he would likely imprison or kill you."
    "Fine. But what about her?"
"We'll take her to a hospital, but I'll ask the healers to notify me when she awakes. Until then we keep this secret, no use telling Severi if it could be a false alarm." Reyox gently picked the girl up and held her in his arms. "Let's go." The two headed into town, heading first towards a hospital before going to the resistance headquarters.

The man clashed with the Neoshadows. He blocked their claws with ease. He quickly destroyed them with his keyblade. Once they were all gone, he looked at his keyblade and said "Too easy." His weapon dissapeared and he looked at the hill ahead. "Why did they appeared here?" He decided to check it out. As he walked towards the hill, he stopped as he saw two people walking. He quickly went behind a tree and watched them. He saw one of them carrying a girl in his arms. As he was watchign them leave, he thought to himself Who are they?"

"Please! Much obliged!" Malisa replied with gusto as her face beamed. "I figured that somebody who looked as wealthy as you knew her way around this town. I'm from Baroque Caverns, you see*." A wave of the sorceresses's hand and the barrier disappeared. Malisa tightened her cloak around herself. With a smile showing, she asked, "Will you kindly show the way?"

Ryan woke up in the middle of the street, as the sun shone on the land of Radiant Gardens. It was now morning and instead of rain, it was snowing. He ran his hand through his clothes. They were sogging wet and tattered from the beating the guard gave him last night. He sat himself up, hand held on his injuries, that were located on his stomach. He looked down the street and saw the building, that crumbled down after the guard was sent soaring towards it. The building that he was knocked into was the old candy shop, that was around the corner. As a child, he used to go there every day with 10 munny from his parents. Those were the days. He looked closer and noticed the guard was still unconscious.
"Why would he still be unconscious....could he be....dead..."
Ryan started to question whether his parents' beliefs were right. They believed that darkness was not evil but after last night...
"Who is she...what is she?...she was trying to save me but....her actions...they're so horrible...is she evil?...is the darkness...evil?"
Ryan decided at that moment, he had to find out for himself.
    "Where is she?"
He sprinted towards his house. That was the first place to go to. He had to get medicine for his journey ahead. He did not have any kind of weapon at his disposal though. That was troubling to Ryan. He went around the corner and looked at the street, his house was located. Three houses were in ashes. There was nothing left except for the neon sign of Ryan's shop, Kenel Kure that was shaped like a vile. He callapsed infront of the demorolized house and he noticed a pale white hand below the neon sign. He did not bare to see whose hand it was. He looked away and a tear ran down his cheek.
"This is my fault...if I didn't try to help her..."
The tear on his cheek dampened the snow. Suddenly the spot where his tear fell brightened into his eyes. He closed his eyes and reopened them to find a blue bladed sword shining in the light of the sunrise. Words gleemed from the blade's surface "In times of emergency. For equality, for sanctuary, for peace"

"OK, just stay quiet and don't speak until I tell you to." Reyox told Vent. They had dropped the girl off at the hospital a few moments ago. After getting the healers to promise to alert Reyox once she awakens, they had headed to the resistance headquarters. The two were standing right outside the main entrance.
"Sure, I guess..." Vent said a little disheartened. He was planning on asking lots of questions wheninside but Reyox wanted him to stay quiet. As Reyox reached for the door, Vent asked one quick question. "Why do you want me to be quiet inside? I mean, I will, I just want to know why."
"Because if you really do want to fight for us, then I'd rather you stay quiet and not risk incriminating yourself." Reyox quickly said and opened the door. He led them through the building stopping for nothing or no one. Finally he reached Severi's office. He politely knocked and announced himself. "Severi sir. I have with me a potential recruit that you should meet personally."

This girl seemed to be well aware of much of what was happening before her at the moment, being so protective as to erect barriers for simply talking to others. Yet what she was unaware of, was the company which she was now keeping with one of the wealthiest, most prominent people in the town. Natalie Savage was not often one to be seen mingling with a limping wounded acting as her shadow through the town's streets; more so, she was seen with a trail of suitors, awaiting their chance at wealth themselves. Yet this girl seemed more worth her time, not just for her rivaling beauty, but for sake of the odd cane with which she supported the weight of her injured body. Even one who has everything could still want more, provided that more was something that that didn't already have; and the walking stick, or cane, or whatever it was, would make for a fine decoration above the mantle, a fine center piece to present to guests.

Given such a strong temptation in her desires, Taliena proceeded along her path, cutting back onto the main street leading out to the castle. People seemed to have settled down from their previous state of excitement, meaning that the heartless were again being driven out by the defenses. Severi and his troops were, without a doubt, far too good at their job. Not a single corner along the way was left unattended by some soldier, or watchman. "As you can see," she said, eying Malisa out of the corner of her vision, "our defense force is quite capable, and expansive. And heir always looking for more members. So if you're seeking to join them, you should have no problem... of course, in the state you're in right now, they might not let you work until you're rid from that grotty little cane."

A storm has been brewing over the town. Surly he'll....

The refreshing nighttime air had reawakened the fatigued Orion, who had now begun to replace the the armored plating over his scaled torso. It was a rather daunting task, as each plate hat to be precise, otherwise, the armor lost its protective function. Not even one mishap could be allowed to be made. Still he felt as best as he could for some sign of his nemesis, for if he was upon this world, he'd be fighting off the darkness here. He'd reveal himself in his unique energy signal, and of course, the tells of silver0blue light as he produced his attacks. When finally, Orion had completed his task of rearming himself for battle, he received the sign he had been awaiting. And truth be told, he was surprised that it had happened so early as this. But still, visible to him in the distant town in the shadow of the castle, was a bluish silvery white colored light, shooting up from the cover of the houses. Simultaneously, he felt the same shock of faint energy that he had been tracking for the passed months register with his senses.

That's him, no doubt about it. My nemesis has come upon this world just as I have. He won't escape, not this time. I swear my life upon that. Retribution will be the song of my house tonight.

"Hm? You mean this old thing?" She asked, holding up the keyblade. "Oh! I'm not hurt, I'm just using it as a walking stick because I've traveled a ton today. This is a keyblade."

The sorceress twirled it around and leaned it onto her shoulder then continued.

"I got this about two years ago. . . strangely enough, it appeared in my hands the exact same moment that my brother disappeared. The idiot. . ." Malisa tacked on at the end before returning her full attention to her companion. "I'm not interested in joining a defense force. Granted, while it would be nice to have a little more direction, I can't just abandon my interests for some grand scheme of things."

The man kept on walking through the town. As he kept walking, he held out his keyblade. He brought it out just in case. "I don't want anybody getting the jump on me." As he walked around, he felt something powerful. "Don't tell me its him." As he started running around, he foudn himself in a graveyard. In the middle of it, a Darkside rised from it. The man looked at it and said "Well then." "I guess this should be easy." "Bring it."

Severi leaned back on his throne.
    "Come in" he called.
He liked the idea of having a new recruit. The darkness has been growing recently.
He saw them enter inside and leaned forward to his table, clutching a glass of red wine. He held it between his index finger and his middle finger. He looked at Vent.
"So, you think you are qualified to take part in our force? You're a rather scrawny boy...what's your name?"

    "Vent sir."
Reyox began talking to for a moment. "I proceeded to check on the scouts we sent out and found them all killed. Because it was raining, their reports we're unreadable as the ink had run. As I was preparing to leave, Vent confronted me inquiring about the scouts. We spoke and when it became apparent neither of us we enemies, I mentioned the resistance. He wishes to join for his own reasons. But what makes him different from other reports," Reyox paused for a moment and glanced at Vent. "He carries a Keyblade." Show him."
Vent nodded and held up his hand. He closed his eyes and thought for a moment before the Keyblade appeared in his hand in a flash of light."I got this right before I was killed by the heartless and nobodies that attacked my village. I'm pretty good with it but I don't know any magic stuff."

Severi was drinking the wine, as Reyox was speaking.
"He carries a Keyblade." Show him."
He spat out the wine in his mouth on the carpet, making a stain and he almost fell off his seat as Vent showed him the keyblade. Severi looked at the keyblader, flabberghasted. There hasn't been a keyblader for a thousand years, Severi thought. He shook his head.
"You can certainly join the resistance, Vent. Reyox, I want you to train him. You will be his master. Have you terminated the dark girl?"
He didn't even pay attention to the news of the four dead soldiers in the cave. They were basically nothing to him. They were basically pawns in his plan to terminate all darkness beings.

"Understood sir. As for the girl..." Reyox paused for a moment, thinking if he should tell him about the girl they found outside the city. Fianally he decided against it. "We've yet to locate her after she escaped some troops yesterday."
Vent put his keyblade away and stayed quiet. Well that was easier then expected. But I'm guessing Reyox will test me himself later. Vents thoughts were interrupted as Reyox continued speaking.
"I'll go out and partol the city sir. And train Vent along the way." With that Reyox turned and left while Vent looked confused for a moment before saying "Sir." and rushing after Reyox.

The darkside threw its arm at the man. The man saw it and blocked it. He then jumped on its arm and started running upside its arm. He then hit its face with his keyblade. The darkside fell and the man jumped down. He looked at it fall and said "That was too easy." The earth started shaking at the giant heartless started rising up again. It charged a giant dark blast in its hands and shot it at him. He used his keyblade to block it but he couldln't handles it. "Ahh!" "Too....much.....POWER!" He then fell on the ground as he got out of its way.

  15. Ventus

"Go ahead, Reyox" he told him.
Once the doors were closed and both of them were faraway Severi shouted, "SVEN!"
A small man, as thin as a stick and a face like a chameleon appeared by the doorway to the right of Severi.
"Yes, my master? What is it?"
"I have task for you. I can sense that Reyox is lying to me about the dark girl. I want you to find out what they are doing. Reyox has been loyal to me but this time I can feel nervous or sad feelings coming from the boy. I need to know the truth"
"I will get on it, sire"
Sven bowed down and faded into the surroundings like a chameleon. His family was part chameli and human. Chameli came from a world called Rasfose, a planet that was covered by rainforests and heavy rain covered across the grasslands. It is very wet and his chameli grandparents moved to Radiant Gardens 70 years ago. His chameli mother met a human father and they reproduced Sven. Throughout the chameli-human's life, he has served the Light Knights and eventually he moved up to being a nobleman in the resistance.

(he is a side character that anyone can control)

In a quick pace, he leapt upto the rooftops of Radiant Gardens and began to search for the two suspects.

The blissfully ignorant trust of the Keybearer was somewhat of a shock to the mistress, as the girl revealed the truth of her cane, and by that extension, much about herself. Her history, her general persona, these, and some more, intangible bits of information were revealed in her short blurb. Her host had been suspecting an easy prod, yes, but this was just made too easy, even for her tastes; there had to be at least some challenge. What good was it to be so devilishly cunning, and have people fall for the simplest of ploys? Not very good, in the eyes of such a cunning fox of a woman. She shrugged, taking the mild victory for what it was, and tilted her umbrella backwards, allowing the rain waters to splash out on the ground behind her, in from there, continue to filter off unto the ground.

Along the main street of town, the castle stood as guardian over the people, and places which sought out its guidance, and the courage of its king. On a sunny day, the towers, and walls of the behemoth structure would shine brilliantly in the early morning light of golden rays from the sun. As the twilight came upon the world, it would caste a shadow out for miles afar, swallowing the majority of the landscape it looked out over. Were tonight a clearer night, and not so poor in its weather, the castle would stand as far more welcoming place, its thousands of lights seeping out through open windows, presenting itself in all of its glamor and prestige. Yet on this rainy, dreary night, it was a sight that shook many of its own subjects to the core. Fewer lights were on, shrouding it in the darkness, giving it an impression of a ghost infested manifestation.

This could have been true, considering the many things that had happened to the castle, and the people within it over the years. It had been the site of many battles in the passed thousand years or so, and even before then, things had been in a violent state. In fact, the only true peace the place had ever seen had been during the age of the great ruler, Ansem The Wise. History had shown that he had been one of the greatest leaders that world had ever seen, making peace within the village, and surrounding areas. Under his rule, the name of the town even got changed to reflect the peaceful era that had come upon them: Radiant Garden. But those days were lost. While the town had maintained its title, and things had settled down, records had proven that things hadn't settled down completely. There was always something brewing just beneath the surface.

"Well, it certainly is an interesting trinket to be in possession of, even if a bit of an eyesore. And you know, there seems to have been a rather large demand for people with those things within the defense forces."

    "Cor. . . That's a big castle."

Upon sight of the looming castle nearby, Malisa let out a low whistle. Rather than being meanacing, glorious, or anything, all she could see for it was that it was a very ramshackle, steam-punk type of structure. Of course, it had many add-ons over the years, but she could tell what was original and what wasn't. Then Natalie's question came.

"Yeah. I would have rather had something with a bit more elegance to it, but it's not like I can just toss it. And plus, it does come in handy when my spells aren't enough. As for those defense forces, I already told you; I'm not going to join. They can keep demanding if they want, but I'm not doing anything for some organization I know almost nothing about."

Once Reyox and Vent were outside in the rain Vent had to ask him something. "So what are you going to do with me? You said I'd be tested but that obviously changed." Reyox stayed silent, he didn't even make any tell that he even heard Vent. "Hello? You listening?"
"Quiet. Somethings not right..." Reyox walked out a few feet and looked around, but he didn't seem to see what he wanted because he shook his head and muttered something. "Follow me Vent, I'm going to see how good you are with that blade. Then we'll check the hospital."
vent nodded and spoke, "You mean that-!" Vent didn't finish what he said because Reyox was suddenly holding his mouth shut.
"Quiet about that. I have a feeling we're being followed and I'm not about to risk any unnessacary info being said in the open. Now stay quiet and follow me to the trainging grounds." Vent stuck his hands in his pockets and did as Reyox said. Man, this guy is such a bummer.

As the two grew closer to the castle standing proudly in the distance, the rainfall began to pick up at an almost exponential rate. What had started as a mere trickle of water falling from the clouds overhead was starting to morph seamlessly into a total downpour. The effect this had on the old castle was astonishing to Taliena, even after having seen it so many times before. While it had once stood as a creeping, unsavory haunt, it now shifted into a far more inviting place to be at this moment. Being there would mean absolute cover from the downpour, as well as the comfort and warmth of a lavishly decorated dining hall. She could naught but imagine what sort of meals that the king had gotten his cooks to prepare for this evening. Her mouth watered just thinking of it.

Not long after the rain fall had peaked, they had come to the front gate into the main keep. It was a drawbridge style gate, able to be retracted in times of battle against an opposing armies. Of course, there hadn't been any of those in some time. At the edge of the bridge, she turned around, staring Malisa eye to eye. "Inside the main keep," she said, pointing towards the hulking structure behind her, "there is a smaller building, where the defense forces have taken up their HQ. If you go there, you should find someone to answer whatever questions you have. Oh, and if you're truly adamant about not joining them, I'd ask Severi as many questions as you can, and not give him any chances to ask him any himself. The more he can get out, the more likely it is he'll be able to wrangle you in to working under him. That's especially so, considering you have a Keyblade. They'll be all over you with that."

Zeije ambled on through the alleyway, his balance beginning to fail him with each step that he took, coming closer to falling whenever his feet touched the ground. He needed to rest, or at least to catch his breath for a moment, and not be attacked by those beasts again. Fighting them, and even being near them at any point in time gave him a bad feeling on his insides. It was a cold feeling. It was one that sapped him of what light he had left within his heart and soul. His hopes turned to depressions, and his dreams to nightmares just looking into their eyes. And while others could not sense it in him, he knew that the creatures themselves could feel that their darkness was getting to him. That’s why they were stalking him so suddenly, lurking in the shadows waiting for his heart to give in. That’s when they’d swoop in like vultures, and pick out the remains of what he had once been.

You won’t have me so easily. You can wait all you want, but I won’t be giving in until I drop dead, you little pukes.

Some distance along his path through the darkened alley, the rain now showering upon his unguarded head, he came upon an unwelcome sight. Not even fifty feet from his spot, a group of those black things had ganged in upon a team of defense force soldiers, whom they had made quick work of. And not too far from them, standing upon the roof of a house overlooking to alley, a male looking figure stood watching over their progress as they undid their prey. None of the soldiers’ weapons seemed to have any effects on the creatures, as though some shield protected them, or otherwise, they were immortal, and impervious. Of course, Zeije knew better by now. It required a more refined touch dealing with such being, and at that, a touch that the soldiers seemed to lack.

Given that all of the soldiers were slain, and hence, out of the way of the harm that may befall them as a result of his attack, he was free to act. Stretching his hand out and focusing onto his palm, he used what energy he could without over extending himself, and wove a concentration of energy in the shape of a disc, razor sharp, capable of cutting through even a human body with little effort. In a graceful draw back, and a powerful fling forward, he unleashed the disc. The beasts knew not what to do of it, finding themselves beheaded, and cut cleanly in half. The disc, following the guiding motions of his hand, returned to him, hovering just above his outstretches hand. With no words, nor warnings, he again threw the disc, this time at the man standing upon the roof.

Let’s see your lackeys take care of you now.

Sven was on the rooftop next to Vent and Reyox.
"Quiet about that. I have a feeling we're being followed and I'm not about to risk any unnecessary info being said in the open. Now stay quiet and follow me to the training grounds."
    Sven snarled.
How did he know?, he thought
Sven wanted to attack them but he stayed quiet. It was his mission to know what they are doing, not terminate them. He jumped onto the next rooftop, blending with the environment.
