Kh-3 Prom/masquerade

Val lightly pressed his lips to hers. He desperately wanted someone to protect, someone to love. To be loved in return. He wanted to deepen the passion in his kiss, but didn't want to scare her.

He pulled away slowly, and looked into her eyes. "So long as you live Hope, I'll be right beside you. I'll protect you from any and all harm."

 

Val felt the danger in this. He knew this would mean harm for them both. But he would protect her. Eternally if he must.

"Thank you Hope. . .I can finally feel peace." Val took her into his arms, "It may have been such a short time, but you've stolen my darkened heart."

 

Val shook his head. How he loved this person. Of all the others who hated him, hated his eyes, hated this power. But what if she found out about that detail. . .he cringed at the thought. But she had to know, she had to know his curse.

"Hope, what I'm about to show you, could make you afraid of me. . .do you want to see?"

Val stepped back, his arms open.

He closed his eyes, letting his power unfold.

His black hair began to flow, and grow longer. His eyes remain closed, as wind began to blow from his body. His hair, now down to his waist, turned golden blond.

He lowered his hands, and the wind stopped. He walked back up to Hope.

"I hope you appove," he said smiling, revealing two fangs that replaced his canines.

 

Val looked into her eyes, trying to let his peace show.

Instead he found himself laughing.

"Well, I think the fangs give that away. Don't you?

"Unexpected. . .and a bit not-supposed-to-be-real-ish?" Val laughed.

 

Val laughed. "I know, its hard to take in at first. But I promise, I'll never in my life hurt you."

"Never."

 

Val nodded. "Yes, but I'm one of the very few that don't require human blood to feed."

At that moment, Val felt it. A cold running down his back. Danger.

Big time.

"Hope, you trust me right?"

 

Val nodded, feeling panic. That was a new one.

Val grabbed Hope's hand. "We gotta get outta here. I've got my bike outside."

He was explaining while he was pulling her. "I don't mean to seem mean or anything, but we do need to get the hell outta here."

"Vampires that feed from humans are called Rouges, and we that protect humans, don't need human blood to survive, but the blood of Rouges." He looked at her and saw her fear.

"And right now, we're being followed by them. But what's nice about not feeding off humans, the endurance gives psykic power." They were at the bike.

He took out a helmet, "Put this on."
