Keyblade Chronicles: Academy Days

I just don't see what to do with that here, if the focus is to remain on the students. We can always run a parallel one on one. And I have one event for this RP to expand on Glyde's story. But again, it will only be a minor event within this particular RP.

Appearance:

Lars is decorated by an array of physical features that one might not attribute to a 13-year-old boy. He stands at a height of roughly 5’5’’, which is average for his age, if not slightly above the heights of others. His build has developed early on into a firm muscular structure that reveals itself as disproportionate relative to his height. In complexion, he is struck with a paled white-gray look giving him an almost sickly impression, even when he’s at the peak of his health. His eyes are a dark hazel.

The most commonly distinguishable trait of Lars, however, is his hair. The best way of explaining it is that it is like few that most people have yet to see. From every possible pore on his body, it seems, Lars’ body is covered with thick patches of black and gray hair. Upon his chest, arms, and legs, it is a look of gorilla likeness, a bold statement of physical brawn. Adorning the top of his head is a mat of messy curls that droop over his eyes. Even facial hair has sprouted out in full swing, granting him a full beard and sideburns running up either side of his face. ​

Personality:

Lars has a tendency to take life as being something to be survived rather than lived. Living life to the fullest simply means making it through each passing day. He is a person who always places his own needs before those of others. The decisions he makes are based almost entirely on what he sees as beneficial to his pulling through the challenges he is faced with. Socializing is an optional thing, for it is not always contusive to his endeavors. But he is more than capable of being social when it is counted as a necessity. He is also more than intelligent enough to hold his own in academics, though sometimes his ‘anti-social’ manners leave a different impression. ​

Keyblade:

Lars wields an Origin Key, hued in a purely silver-white color along the blade, and a hilt colored in a black to match the night sky. ​

Magic:

As a student, fresh from the Scourge, Lars knows very little of the arts of magic and spell casting. ​

Peripheries

A secret that Lars is now determined to harbor from his peers is that he is a born Lycanthropic Shape Shifter. He is a being that can undergo a transformation into a beast-like state, into which his conscious self becomes lost in a primal instinct. He can do so at will, but the effect is more potent when forced upon him by the light of a full moon. It is this mutation of his being that leaves him with the oddly figured body structure, and a considerable level of physical prowess, and slightly extended sensory capabilities. ​

Biography

Birthed on a world in which the spirits of night mingled hand in hand with human beings, Lars was one amongst many races that were feared. His family, his Clan, all lived in the hallows of a forest, where they had always hoped to maintain secrecy. But their misfortunes ended up taking hold of them as the very humans that feared them began to invade their established territory. It was an act of fear-fueled violence against his Lycan peoples that he, and many others could not take for long. So they fought back against their ‘enemies’, leaving a fair number of them dead in their wake. Even Lars, at age nine at the time, had felt the blood upon his hands. This was before the conflict escalated. And in any case, his memories of these days are hazy at best.

A year after the initial Lycan campaign, and a series of further endeavors that had left Lars’ Clan in at an advantage, new technologies from other worlds at surfaced. Human began to reestablish their footholds on the frontiers that the Lycans had protected with such valiance. In a fury of gunfire and blades clashing with the tough claws of transformed Lycans, the Clans were forced to retreat ever deeper into their forest sanctuary. Through the coming years, the battles between Lycans, other ‘Night Dwellers’ and the human townships across Lars’ home world saw many ups and downs for all sides. Alliances were made and broken constantly. Some sides were exploited by others.

But by the time Lars had reached 13, the Lycans had come to a distinct disadvantage against their adversaries. Raids on Lars’ Clan were commonplace, and ruthlessly enacted. It reached the critical point shortly after his 13th birthday, when the final raid forced his Clan into a full withdrawal from their territory. During the retreat, Lars was separated from the others in the Clan, and left to find his own way to where ever it was that they might have found refuge. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before he was pinned as a ‘monster’ and cornered. Surrounded on all sides, he sought a way out, which proved to be a laughable thought.

It wasn’t until the final thoughts of life had begun to escape him that a ‘miracle’ happened. Power, the likes of which Lars had not felt before in his lifetime surged through him. Then, manifest within the shaking clutch of his hands, The Keyblade had formed in response to one thing: His need to survive. It might have been a lucky guess that he used the blade, and the brief jump in power to fend off his pursuers. Then, it might as well have been an instinctual push that orchestrated it. Either way, he had the small band of hunters running out of a mystified shock. Still, there was work to be done, and a family that he had to find. Where they could have been, Lars wasn’t too sure. But he sought them out anyways.

He would never be reunited with his family, or anyone that he knew from his Clan. Not long into his solo searches, he was intercepted by an armored figure, wielding a weapon similar to the one he had ushered into his use before. He asked for no name, and nor was he given one in return. In his thought on the matter, he knew that person before him was one like himself, and one to trust. So he went with the Keybearer, back to her transport ship, upon which he found himself in the presence of others his age, though nothing like him. Reluctant to accept the kinship of those whose lives were likely far form his own, he sought solitude, finding it in a seat far to the back of the passenger seating area, away from the others. His thoughts locked into how he would survive the new experiences that were obviously unfolding before him.​

Now that that's out of the way, I will divulge my intentions for this RP:

Shadow*91 may make the thread as soon as possible. Teachers are to start at The Academy, and the Students, on board the ship in bound to The Academy.

Insanity, if it is well and good with you, I will plan for something for Malisa,,, perhaps a battle/talky thingy between her and Glyde, something major happening on a thread related to this, but not essentially a part of it.

 

Before I get to a starting post, is anyone out there still up for it?

 

I think it might be better, given the way I'm trying to run things, to put this up in the Beginner's section.
