I Solemnly Swear I am Up to No Good

Will smiled and said. "Ok. And the beans I'll get through eventually." He said, grinning as he downed the last of the juice. He could tell she was uneasy and tried to joke to lift the tension. "So who can't wait for my next explosion in potions class?" He then closed the box of beans and stowed it in his knapsack. He then pulled out his wand and started twirling it again, the worst habit he had. "So how was your summer Cass?" He asked.

 

"Thanks Will" Cass smiled as he took the cake and put it to one side. He then took the seat opposite Danni and stretched. "You should probably put that wand away Will before you hurt yourself, or worse one of us" Cass laughed.

"My summer..." Cass began as he thought of where to start. "Well when I got home my mother told us we were going away for the summer and that I wasn't to make any summer plans with my new friends. So naturally I got on the phone and started making some calls. When my Mom caught wind of it she had my phone bill sent to her and called everyone telling them that I was unavailable over the summer holidays. So I spent the first month at home doing different things around the house. Then when we eventually did go away it was only for a week. So the rest of the summer was mostly spent doing odd bits of magic and replying to letters that didn't get as far as door. So mostly it was an uneventful summer" Cass smiled.

"Oh!. There was on thing. I asked my mother why she was intercepting my mail, and she responded by exploding into a blind rage ranting on about how it was bad enough that I was friends with half bloods, let alone me wanting to marry one" He said with a cheeky wink to Danni.

 

Will grinned. "I see. Mine was well... you can kind of guess since I was with Danni for most of it. The worst part was being stuck in the house with Shawn." He grunted, catching the wand and putting it into his robes pocket. "I mostly wandered the town we live in." He said. He then grinned. "But I can't wait to try out for the quidditch team this year. Aiming for seeker." He said. He was wondering where Kaylee was because she was usually here same time as Cass. "Probably at another part of the train..." He muttered.

 

"You're gonna have to beat me then." Tom spoke out as he walked to their room. "If you can do it, congratulations. But I've been practicing all summer. And I must admit, I think my reflexes have improved greatly from last year." He had a chocolate frog container in his hands. He opened it, watching the frog jump out. Before it hit the ground, Tom caught it rather casually. He put the entire from into his mouth. "I'm telling you, these things have a better taste when they're squirming in your mouth." He smiled after eating the frog. He tossed the wizard card to Will. "You collect these, right?"

 

"I wonder where Kay is. She should be here right now." Tom said to the group. "Come to think about it, if I know Kay, which I do, she's probably secretly swearing to be a goodie two-shoes this year. Speaking of which, did you guys remember to bring the fireworks? It'd be a fun thing to do while we wait to get to the castle. See how people react with all the flashing lights zigging past their cars." He snapped his fingers, just remembering a plan he had. "Where's my invisibility cloak? I know I packed it, but I don't remember if it was with my books or the rest of my luggage."

 

Will grinned. "Thank you Tom! I've been bored all day!" He said, stowing the wizard card in his bag and drawing out a decent sized firework. "Everlasting bottle rocket." He said, tossing it to Tom. "Changes colors and also won't go out for 8 hours." He said. "Sorry but that's all I could bring." He said, closing his knapsack back up.

 

Tom froze, slowly turning around to look behind him. "Quick! Change subjects!" He thought to himself. He wrapped Kay up in a hug, shaking her around a bit. "There you are. I get two owls from you the whole summer. Where did you go?" He asked, trying to sound serious. And seriously failing at that. He tried kicking the firework Will gave him out of Kay's sight.

 

"Just a bit unlucky Danni." Tom glared at Danni. Kay's word echoed through his head. "Usually? Don't you mean never? That you never make a big deal about these things? Or did you swear off of us like you say you will?" Just his luck. He opens his big mouth, and then they can't do anything.

 

Tom faked a gasp. "My idea?" He faked a look of suprise. He slowly inched away from Kay, towards his trunk that contained his clothes. "Why... I would never. How could you try placing the blame on me?" He had a hand facing behind him, reaching for his stuff. He grabbed a piece of cloth that was hanging out. He quickly yanked it out of the suitcase. He flung the cloth around himself, dissapearing. "Found it." Tom smiled underneath the invisibility cloak. He quietly moved away from where Kay would guess he'd be.

 

"Why be sane when you could be me?" Tom asked out loud. "Dang it!" He yelled in his head. "You and your bloody big mouth. Well, I guess that's it for dstractions. Although...." He just noticed Kay's Prefect badge. Tom grabbed his wand. It was approximately 10 inches long and made out of redwood. It had a phoenix feather for a core. "Wingardium Leviosa." He muttered to himself, flicking his wand in the badge's direction. The badge lifted itself off of Kaylee. Tom floated it around the small area they were in.

 

"It's nice to know I'm so wanted." Tom said as he got up and took the cloak off. "So now that you're one of them, what are you gonna do? Will you turn me in? After plotting mass destruction and chaos? Or will we get free passes?"

 

"I don't turn myself in until I hold out my hands to be cuffed together." Tom smiled. He picked up one of the fireworks. He slowly walked around, tapping it in his hand. "Come on." He said, drawing out his voice. "You know it'll be fuuuunnn. I doubt anybody will be hurt. We wouldn't accidentally fire one of these off." He spoke, still tapping it against the palm of his hand. With one of the taps, the firework ignited, launching itself and shooting through the hallways of the train. Tom stared at the trail of sparks in disbelief. "That doesn't count."
