Hunters

Wolf unbuttoned his coat untucked his white shirt and loosened his tie. He readied his TAR21. He smelled Grahl outside.

Willy noticed the look on Wolf's face. "Careful about the sense.."

"I can control it, Willy."

"You said that last time."

"Trust me, i've learned alot in the last 13 years..I've been helping the other Hunters find our targets secretly..With the sense."

"Just don't get overconfident with your control..."

 

Lycn couldn't believe what Vlad said to him. "I can't be a Hunter for one month?" Vlad shook his head in up and down to reply. Lync's whole body was shivering. He looked down, having his hair cover the upperhalf of his face and clenching his fist really tight. "Why Vlad? Why can't I?" That is when Vlad said "Its because you put us through a lot of grief and with those nanos in you it will take a long time to get them out. Also, its because you almost got Wolf dead!"

 

Grahl had some of his men use blow torches to cut a hole in the sealed door. After awhile they broke it down and the all ran in, guns ready, and on the lookout for any enemies. Grahl looked around and noticed that the command center was totally emty. Grahl grew up with Wolf in this base and he knew the command center was never emty, attack or no attack. This puzzled him.

Wolf's eyes shot to the door leading out of the Engineering bay "They're coming. We have to get ready."

 

Will lifted his shotgun and grinned like a bloodthirsty animal behind his visor. "Go, now!" He barked at Wolf, pumping the 20 gauge combat shotgun loudly. He then started towards the hallway that led to the command center. "I'll hold them off, just go! Even if I have to die here!" He roared, shutting the door behind him. He then drew his pistol and shot the controls, making it so he would have to pry the doors open next time. A decent struggle for a spartan if he went through Grahl might not be able to follow. But for now it was him and Grahl, and he was thirsty for blood.

 

Lync was so angered and regretful when he heard Vlad's words. He didn't wanted to quit being a Hunter for so long but what Vlad said was true. He did cause them grief and he did get Wolf almost killed. That is when he sighed and brought his head back up to face Vlad. He then said with a decided mind "Ok. I'll stop being a Hunter for a month." Vlad smiled and said "Good. Now go ahead and get into your Mech." Vlad turned on his con link and said to Willy "Get Lync into the Faded Moon mech now!"

 

The guard dog from hell, Cerberus

Leonardo, along with Heather ran further and further into the base until they reached a hangar with multiple large robots. "Holy shit!" Leonardo exclaimed as he ran forward and stopped in front of a Jade Green mech. "This one is all yours, pal," yelled a dirty mechanic that was putting the finishing touches on the large robot. "Since you already did the simulation testing you're a-okay for the field, son." He stepped away from the mech and Leonardo approached. He looked back to Heather and he saw that she was looking at him with sad eyes. He ran over to her and hugged her tight, "Heeather...I'm sorry..."
She looked down at the ground not saying anything.
"I'll come back to you...I promise."
She put something in his hand, "I know you will."
"What is it?"
She turned around and started back to where she was needed, "It's a gift...I was supposed to give to you years ago."

Leonardo was suited up in his Hayabusa MJOLNIR armor that had been completely repaired and pretty much brand new. He yelled into the intercom and the hangar doors began to open. "Since this is your first time in here you need to consider this, your mech has an average underwater combat performance so you need to be careful out there. Don't come back with a popped mech y'hear?"
He gave the mechanic and thumbs-up and grinned under his helmet. Everything was so different inside the mech. He called, pushing forward the throttle of the start-up. "CERBERUS IS CLEARED FOR TAKE OFF!!! LET'S GO!"

Leonardo was pressed back into his seat as Cerberus shot forward with intense speed and soared over the blue waters of the planet. Above him he come make out the scattered explosions of air and space combat. He clicked his communications and spoke to all the others, "Guys...I'm sorry that I screwed up last time. Won't happen again."

 

Wolf looked at Vlad "With all due respect sir, we need to cut the chatter and go now."

Willy heard Vlad's command and gestured for Lync to follow him. He lead him to the Faded Moon mech and climbed up the ladder and into the cockpit. "The controls are all labled so it shoulden't be hard for you to figure it all out. The ignition is right there." Willy pointed to a keyhole. "Just insert the key and press that button next to the keyhole."

Wolf ran up to the Lone Wolf mech and climbed inside "In all my days in the D.M.C. i've never seen something so amazing in my life..." He quietly said to himself. He started up the mech "Hey Willy! Get in your blasted mech we don't have much time!" He said over the com

"Right on it." Willy climbed down the ladder and ran towards his mech and climbed in "I hope this plan works..."


Wolf called Leonardo on the com "Where the heck are you? We're starting off towards the lake!" The Hangar doors in the engineering bay started to open. Wolf looked down at Vlad who was standing near his mech. He seluted Vlad and then looked at the hangar doors and the moonlit lake outside.

 

Leonardo sighed and turned Cerberus around, "Sorry about that, sir. I guess I got a little excited." He was having the time of his life inside Cerberus. It was like they made an exact replica of himself. He looked back at the base and sighed again. "I hope she'll be alright in their..." he shook the thoughts from his head and kept his focus on the mission. "Alright, sir, where exactly are we going?" He was somewhat worried about having to dive down into the water. He was never very fond of underwater combat. He felt constricted...

 

"We're heading for some kind of underwater temple. Not really sure where it is, but this lake isn't that big." Wolf responded. He looked down at the door that lead out of the engineering room, all he could think about is how Will was doing, how could he handle Grahl and an entire attack force all by himself? Sweat starting rolling down his forehead. He had no idea what was going to happen, this was the most horrifying battle he had ever been in..So much death. He didn't know what was going to happen but sadly he didn't think the outcome of it was going to be at all good. Grahl's forces were unstoppable. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes "Boys.." He said through the public com. "We might not make it out tonight, but if we don't....We die heroes..."

Grahl ran through the halls of the base iching to kill someone. When he met Will, standing there, waiting for him "Well well well if it isn't my old pal Will. How you been?" He asked grinning. He was finally going to be able to finish off one of the Hunters.

 

Will heard what Wolf said and grinned. "I am the only one to die tonight boys. I shall be the one to stop Grahl and his force. But even if I perish I want everyone to keep fighting because more like him shall come. And remember... Spartans can't die..." He said into the com, only his team hearing it, including Lync. He then lifted his shotgun, aiming it dead at Grahl.

 

Heather, throwing down her battle rifle, cocked and loaded her assault rifle and continued pouring in round after round of ammunition into the soldiers that were in the main lounge of the base as D.M.C. and Shadow Legion alike fired at each other. They had been going at it for hours it seemed but it was only twenty minutes into this battle. She watched as two D.M.C. soldiers flipped backwards from devastating shots to the head and took cover behind a nearby wall and took out a frag grenade and threw it out. She smiled slightly as she could here the muffled boom being drowned out by the cries of soldiers as she and a group of several D.M.C. soldiers moved into the launch bays on the other side of the base. They would need to get across the armory first. Once in there they could set up defensive sentries and run into the launch bays to aid the fighting fleet that was having a hard time. I sure hope everyone else is doing fine.

That's when Butsuchiru and a group of elite Shadow Legion soldiers were at the entrance to an elevator. She froze in her tracks as a wicked smile curled along hi lips and he chuckled. "Well, well...hello..."

 

Lync climbed into the cockpit and closed the hatch door that lead out of the mech. As he look around the cockpit, he was amazed at how much technology the mech had inside of it. He sat down in the pilot seat , he put the electronic key into the keyhole and started flipping switches, making the mech to start powering up. Once it was at 100%, the mech's computer system started turning on, giving Lync a great view of the outside world. He smirked and said "Amazing. Truly amazing." Willy appeared on the side of Lync's monitor, looking at the Hunter as he started getting ready to take off. Willy smiled and said "Ok Lync, you are ready to go." Lync nodded and said "Ok. Lets rock!" The Faded Moon mech started charging up and with a loud roar, Lync pushed the controls up all the way and the mech dashed out of the hangar, flying straight up into the sky.

 

Wolf smiled "Well, Willy. Take care. We'll be back soon."

"I know you will little bro.." Willy responded.

Wolf inserted the key into the keyhole and waited for his mech to power up. When it was at 100% he started for the hangar doors. Jumping and diving into the water "Lync you scout the rest of the base from the sky, see if any of Grahl's forces are still out there. If you see any of them you have a green light to engage. I'll try and look for the temple, i'll contact you when i need you to come down and give me a hand, do you copy?" Wolf asked into the com. Wolf looked around the cockpit of his mech. Willy had really outdone himself. The Lone Wolf was so amazing. Looking out the window he noticed several sea creatures swimming through the water. Wolf was ashamed of the fact that this was the first time he had seen a living animal up close for years..He had been in so many war torn areas that all the local wildlife was mostly dead or dying. It was sad. But he had to get over it.


"Will....." Wolf slowly said into the com. "I'm telling this to you as a friend, not a squad mate. You did good in your service to me and Vlad. Your one of the best soldiers i have. And that's the truth. Now i have an order for you....Don't....Die..You've got more potential then any one of us. And if you can actually kill Grahl...You'll end this war..Tonight..Forever." The reason he was saying this was because he was tired of leading such a painful life, seeing so much death, he wanted a break from all the fighting but it seemed as if he never got one. "Will..Kill Grahl."

 

Will grinned and charged with the shotgun, emptying three shells quickly and jumping behind him. He then activated a plasma grenade and stuck it to his back. He then rolled forward, dropping three of Grahl's henchmen. He then stuck another with a grenade and both detonated at once, Gral's cracking his armor and the henchmen splattering the wall. Will ducked behind a control console and started to reload is shotgun.

 

Grahl quickly reacted, spinning around, looking at the room which was tainted with scorch marks and small flames started from the grenades. Grahl slowly reached for his ammo belt and pulled out a grenade, pulling the cord off he threw it into the middle of the room. Seconds later smoke started pouring out of the grenade. "Oldest trick in the book.." Grahl said quietly to himself, as he walked slowly towards the smoke. He pushed a button on the side of his helmet, activating the infared mode in his helmet. He looked around and saw a small part of Will's elbow from behind a control console. Grahl smiled under his helmet and slowly started walking towards him with his gun at the ready.

 

Will lifted himself, shotgun blasting grahl's helmet off. He then rolled backwards into the smoke, reloading and switching to a pistol with his combat knife in his other hand. His footsteps were dead silent as he strode through the smoke. "Remember Grahl... Spartans never die..." He said, his voice floating through the smoke like a ghost. He then slashed out with the knife, cutting Grahl's arm.

 

Grahl twirled around and grabbed Will's neck and held a knife to his stomach "Untill today..." He stabbed Will, the knife went through his armor, Grahl lifted Will up and threw him into a computer console. He pulled out his SCAR and started walking up to will through the smoke "Do you want me to put you out of your misery fast or do it slowly?" Grahl asked as he smiled wildly. "You know, it's not too late for you to come to your senses, if you see it my way i'll let you live. You can bet on that.." Grahl said as he continued to hold Will at gunpoint, totally ingoring the blood running down his arm.

 

Will laughed as his armor's sheild repelled the knife and stopped the blow from hitting the console. "Come on grahl... we both know I am a better fighter than you. Just face death." he said, his pistol going off three times in Grahl's stomach before rolling off into the smoke. He reloaded his pistol and kept it up, waiting for Grahl to return his move. The whole fight could be heard in Wolf's mech.

 

Grahl smiled "We both know that's not true." He looked around and saw Will waiting for him. Grahl charged and punched Will's visor in. Giving it several cracks, he then took a hold of Will's shoulders and jutted his knee up. Then slamming Will's head into Grahl's knee. He pulled out his Colt 1911 pistol and fired at Will's cracked visor, if he knew anything about Spartans it was that their visors were weaker then the rest of the armor.

 

Will flew back and grinned as he drew his other pistol. Both unloaded on Grahl's exposed head. He then reloaded them and rolled towards Grahl. stabbing his knife into Grahls chest right through the armor and pinning Grahl to a wall. He then stepped back. "Spartans... never... die..." He said, standing a full 7 feet in his armor. He was an imposing figure in the scarred and beaten armor.
