Hunters

The mongoose cut out when he braked near a large hole in the ground. He peered in and saw collapsed sewer lines. He jumped down and landed in one, a large crater crumbling under his feet as he stood. He brought his HUD map up and saw Wolf's radar beacon about ten feet down the tunnel. Will drew his Standard 20G Assault Shotgun and crouched, heading slowly down the tunnel until he was right next to Wolf. "So what have we got here boss?" He asked his friend.

 

Butsuchiru watched from a quiet corner hidden within the blackness of the tunnel. He was able to see that Lycn, Wolf, and Will were all there, all except for the two young ones he throttled. "Maybe I should shake things up . . . cause some, discernment in their ranks." He concentrated his view on Lycn and grinned. "Let's how long his body can take a new substance the all mighty D.M.C. cannot even identify anymore . . . the same serum used to turn us into the chimeras we practically are. I will accelerate his mutation temporarly. In the time it takes him to come back to his senses . . . he'll all ready be dead by then . . . "

Butsuchiru shifted back into the shadows and disappeared . . . like he had never been there.

 

"Well we should should get going." As Lync took antoher step, he fell down to the ground. He held his chest in pain. "Grr." "This pain, whats happening?" He looked up at Wolf and said "Whats going on?!" Just after a few seconds later, the pain went away. Lycn calmed down and said "That was weird."

 

Will drew his sniper, sliding the shotgun to his back. He flicked a switch on the scope and then pressed a button. "Leader is tagged in the scope sir, permission to fire?" He said, the words tasting funny in his mouth. He had not asked for permission in 8 years. He shook the thoughts of his past from his head and waited for Wolf's answer.

 

Will nodded, sliding the sniper onto his back and drawing his dual M6C Pistols, chambering both one handed. "Yes sir, sorry sir." He said, bringing the pistols up and starting forward. He would use the shadows to go into the camp, seeing as how his armor's shields dissapated light. He didn't want to go in and find out what he was but he had to, he had to know why his adrenaline was hyperactive. Why he was the way he was.

 

Lync looked at Wolfe and said "Yes sir." He then got up and turened to Lora. "Lora." "I will protect you... so don't worry." He brought out his pistol and stood in front of her. "THis way, you can be the back of my eyes, while I'll be the front of them. As he gave a comforting smile, his eyes turned amberish yellow.

 

Reo phoned in on an intercom. "Reporting to team leader. I have left base and am heading your way. Repeat, I am heading your way over." Reo kicked up the throttle on the mongoose he was riding and stopped at a hill leading into a tunnel. He looked about it and tried his best to ignore the pain in his still broken ribs. "Suck it up. Either you adapt, or you die."

 

Lora was okay with this, she didn't want to be protected at all really, but she was tired. So she let it be, she made sure her shot gun was ready. "Lcyn, dont worry, i can take care of myself a whole lot better than you think, so dont worry." she said to him. "Hey Space boy, when we get there, what are you really looking for anyways." she asked him. She didn't know why but she hated being down here, she always loved the skys, and never wanted to be underground. that must be why.

 

Lync looked at her and said "Ok." "I just don't want anyone to die down here." As he said that, he started trembling again. He kept his hand on his chest and started groaning. "Gaah!" He held chest tightly. He slammed his back on the wall and said "Lora!" "You need to get away." "Get away now!"

 

Will stowed the pistols, running up to Lync and lifting him, slamming him into a wall. Will held him still by putting his arm over his throat. He then withdrew a needle from his field pack, flicking the tip off with his pinky. He injected it into Lync's throat, the serum going into his bloodstream. Will turned to everyone and grinned behind his visor. "Thought I should bring some of the serum I made back at the base. It stops his transformation and knocks him out for a while." He said. "But he's gonna wake up with a massive headache."

 

Will heard a gun cock in the distance, his supersensetive hearing picking it up. "Olden day .223 rifle, get down!" He said, bring in the girl with him to the ground as a bullet pierced the wall where here head was a few seconds ago. "He's mine..." Will said, drawing the sniper and shooting the man though his own scope. "Wolf, we have a problem, over."

 

"what the heck is happening to him, why are yall hurting him?" lora asked, she ran at wolf and pushed him away from lncy,"he's your team mate, your friend, this is why I hate hunters like yall, you can't work together and all you do is hurt others!"lora yelled at him, wolf just looked super mad, 'ncy was still yelling and she just looked at wolf with hate.-he walked over to lncy and tried to talk to him"hey what's wrong with you?" she said

 

Will grabbed Lora. "I just saved your life and your saying we keep hurting you?" He roared. It was always this way for Spartans. They were freaks, robots, machines, engines of chaos and destruction and she was yelling at him for saving her life and stopping Lync from possibly killing them all.He turned and scoped in, dropping four more targets and reloading.
