    "Haha, Good answer" Merric said rubbing his legs. They were on fire!! He wasn't unfit but he was more muscular than he was athletic. He then looked at the young woman again. Her name was on the tip of his tongue. Idashi... no that isn't it. Id..Idasha? It sounded right but Merric wasn't to sure.

    "Your name is Idasha isn't it?" He decided to ask. "Its me Merric, I helped you escape from the soldiers several years ago" he said hoping she remembered. He really didn't want to mention more of that memory.

    Idasha had been facing away from Merric when he spoke. When he told her his name, Idasha was stunned. Everyone who had remembered that night... she thought they were all dead or the soldiers who had killed that family who had tried to help her. She turned her head slightly to look back at him but then she stopped. She wasn't sure which instinct to trust. The one that was sure that Merric had died at childhood and this was a soldier or an assasin or a gladiator with the mission of capture her to win his freedom. But then...
    Idasha never rememberd seeing what happened to that boy. She just remembered that he fell but he told her to go on. She sighed, knowing she may as well tell the truth. It was obvious that if he was someone to fear then he already knew who she was and asking questions was just for appearences. But then, on the slim chance that he survived then she wanted him to know who she was. Part of her wanted to hope that everyone hadn't died that night. She nodded "Yes. I am Idasha." she said. "But you can't be Merric. The soldiers told me that he..." she didn't want to finish that sentence. She didn't need or want to show weakness in front of him.

    "Whatever the soldiers told you was a lie" Merric said with a smile. He wasn't sure if smiling was the right thing to do but, who would have thought that of all the people in the world she would be the one he would run into first.

    "When the guards captured me they sold me to gladiators, they trained me to fight. After several years I made a name for myself, and it came to the time were they offered me a quest for my freedom. They made the mistake of letting me know you were alive, thats when I escaped and coincidently found you"

    Merric was unsure if he should hug her or not so he stood there with a smile on his face.

    Idasha didn't mean to appear rude. But for years, she had been on the run. Unable to trust anyone and childhood friends that she did occasionally run into before in her journies were all either drafted into the Empire's armies and had been forced for that cause to betray her, or had just gone insane. The case was different with Merric and Idasha knew it within but that didn't stop her from feeling a bit on edge. Still, she was so glad to see that he was alright, and that at least one person that night survived and that her life that night hadn't caused an entire city and a half's death that she didn't really care. She took a breath to say something to him but she stopped suddenly when she saw a soldier come into view over his sholder. She pulled a knife out of her belt and threw it over Merrik's sholder at the soldier, knowing that others must be behind him or would notice his absense soon and be suspicious. She looked at Merrik and whispered "This is a conversation for somewhere with more walls, I think."

    "Well then I suggest we run" Merric said as he grabbed Idasha by the hand and began dragging her through the forest. "Wow this brings back memories" Merric said with a somewhat smile on his face. The memories Merric had with Idasha weren't very good ones. His entire family supposedly died that night. When he though about it, Merric had alot of good reason to be angry at Idasha. If she hadn't come then his family may still be alive, he wouldn't have been sold as a gladiator. But something about her stopped him from placing any of the guilt on her. It was as if it was supposed to happen and Merric had accepted it.

    "Ow" Merric said as he was brought back to reality by a branch hitting him in the face.

    "Look there's an opening over there" Merric said to Idasha as he pulled her away from the soldiers. The soldiers footsteps faded away as they ran past the opening.
    "That was lucky" Merric smiled to Idasha

    The soldiers only were following the wrong person, unbeknownst to the duo. They had sighted Sumi, who was picking berries to make a salve out of and gave chase, thinking that she was one of the two they wanted because of the darkness of those woods. However, she disappeared only about a hundred yards later, leaving them confused. An attempt to stay put and search only left half the group decimated by pit-spikes and log traps. The remaining three got together in a circular formation with pikes pointing outwards. Too bad they didn't look towards the inside of the circle, as she smashed them on the back of the head before they even realized.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
    After picking all the medals and trinkets she could find off the corpses, Sumi backtracked to where the paths split off, suspicious of where these other humans were going. "Ishala, Mukri!" She cursed, thinking that they were soldiers. The beast-girl then stormed down the path blindly until the two were sighted. Raising her massive stone club angrily, she shouted a battle-cry and ran at the boy.
    Idasha heard a sound behind them that was followed by a loud shout. She and Merrik stopped at about the same time and turned to see the silliouette of a woman running at them in the dark shadows that the trees cast across the ground which was already darkened because night was falling rapidly. Thinking that she was probably an assasin or bounty hunter who was with the soldiers, she and Merrik both jumped out of her path. Idasha still had her hand in Merrik's was a bit disoriented at the sudden movement and winced when she felt a branch from a tree scrape her cheek. She wasn't sure if it had scatched her enough to bleed or not but she didn't have time to worry about that. She looked at Merrik letting her know that she had a plan before she quickly dashed through the bush that had just scratched her, having spent a lot of her life in these woods she was very good at moving quickly and quietly through the trees. She came back into view behind their attacker with her sword drawn. She didn't want to kill her unless it was clear she had to so instead of using her sword she kicked her in the square of her back, knocking her slightly off balance.
    Sumi fell forward as expected, but recovered quickly as she placed the head of the large, hexagonal club on the ground as she fell. Using that as a cane, somewhat, she vaulted and flipped forward. She stopped her momentum once she was right side up by using her club to take all of it and smash into a rock - shattering it to shards. "Mukri!" She cursed again, but she immediately about-faced towards Idasha and ran at her, swinging her durable club down from above. . . .
    When Idasha had run off into the woods Merric had first thought she was going to make a run for it and leave him with the crazy lady who was attacking them. But then he realized that she was going around through the woods to get to the woman's back. After she had kicked the woman in the back and she had her back to him Merric capitalized on the situation and ran behind the woman leaping onto her back entangling his legs with hers and putting his arms under hers and then bringing them up to behind her head so as that she would drop the club that Merric has seen her smash a rock with not moments before. Merric could feel that the woman was extremely powerful but fortunately his gladiator training had prepared him for anything. As the woman was jerking her body backwards to try and throw him of Merric did the same, this unexpected moved caused them both to fall to the ground. Unfortunately Merric took the brunt of the fall but he didn't loosen his grip.
    "Mukri! Empire Makra*!" The feral girl snarled and cursed as she struggled with Merric. Her club ended up falling into the ground near his head and was stuck there, off by a few inches. She continued to curse in that other language as she struggled, although one thing she said was in Basic: "Demons! Empire! Destroyers!"
    *You honestly don't want to know what she is saying.
    Idasha heard the word "Empire" mentioned and she took the meaning the wrong way. The two words she didn't understand could mean anything from "You betrayed the Empire" to "I'm Empire Assasin." she didn't want to trifle with the idea so instead she took the moment that Merrik had the assasin buisy and then Idasha ran forward and took her Club, with quite a bit of difficulty. The thing weighed a ton!
    She dragged it far away so that the other girl couldn't reach it before she helped Merric by grabbing the girl's wrist and forcing it down. It was obvious she was stronger than Idasha, she was probably more of a fighter than a runner and Idasha had lived the life as a runner. That takes complete different kinds of strength. Idasha was sure of one thing that she sould outrun this chick but she probably could dream on about beating her in this arm wrestle if it weren't for the fact that Merric was restraining a sum of her strength. She took the sash from around her waist and tied it around the girl's wrist and then, using the ground as leverage, she cartweeled over the struggeling gladiator and girl and tied the other half of the scarf around her other wrist. The entire process took less time than two breaths. "Who are you?" she asked the girl.
    Seeing as she was actually restrained at this point, Sumi thought to give in - or at least, look like she did for the moment. The girl didn't have her sword out anyways, so she might not have been that bad. Hearing the question (and thinking for a minute on what it meant), the barbaric girl replied, "Suu-mee. Waarrrden of Auris*." The girl wiggled her foot around in an attempt to grab a dagger strapped to her leg. Even though this person hadn't attacked yet, she couldn't take chances.
    *Those woods, fyi.
    "Of course!" Idasha thought to herself as the girl told her where she was from. That language she was speaking! She was in the same tribe as that man who had spoken to her earlier. He didn't seem to mean her harm though, this girl had almost smashed Idasha's head with that club like the rock she hit. She probably would have done it had Merric not tackled her. She would have to thank him for that later if they could ever get to safety. But if this girl was from this forest and she couldn't speak good English was it possible she wasn't a part of the Empire? That this was all misunderstanding?
    She sighed, not exactly sure what to think just yet. She reached out her hand to stop the girl from reaching for her dagger and then she reached for the hilt of her sword. Giving her a reassuring look as she pulled it out to let her know that she wasn't going to use it lethally. She took the sword and stabbed it into the ground behind her. Knowing very little of the language the girl was speaking, she sort of butchered the pronunciations of a few words and she knew it. She wasn't exactly sure if she got the right messege across but she tried to speak in the girls native language anyway. It was a phrase a friend from home had taught her in her childhood that basically meant "I am a friend of those who will not draw a weapon on innocent blood."
    She didn't know how to say anything else in that language and she was pretty sure she got a few words wrong. She just hoped it was enough to make the girl stop freeking out or trying to kill them.
    (Sorry. Thought that I should wait for Kairu, and apparently he was waiting for me.)
    The feral girl gave up struggling altogether when she saw what Idasha had done and said. Granted, she did botch up the meaning a bit, but the action with the sword had helped. Nobody from the Empire would ever just throw their sword down or even be able to speak that language. "Not. . . Empire?" She asked, cocking her head.
    OOC: Its okies Moogle. =D
    IC: Idasha nodded, the suprise on the girl's face confermed to her that she had been apposing them because she thought they were empire as well. This meant that they had a common enemy. This was one step to them being able to consider her a friend. "Jeez." she thought to herself "First Merric and then almost getting my head bashed in by a Ferel girl... I thought that race was wiped out." she sighed, getting a bit exasparated "Who next, my mother?" she thought to herself sarcasticly. Regardless, she realized she had been quiet for a while now. She was sure by now the Ferel girl and Merric thought she had fallen asleep on her knees or something because she was just kneeling there staring at the ground. So she nodded again "Not Empire." she repeated. She looked at Merric, hoping that he had a better idea on how to speak the language than her because she could tell by the look on the girls face that she totally butchered the phrase she had been trying to say.
    Merric was quite glad when the woman finally gave up struggling. She had smacked him in the nose and he could feel the blood running onto his face. "I'm going to let you go now. Don't try anything." Merric said as best he could in her language. He had herd it been spoken once before when he was a gladiator. When Merric became quite interested in a warrior they had brought in. He had taught the man how to speak there language and the Man as a favour taught him there's. He had never thought that he would meet another of the people so he had partially forgotten how to speak it. But he was sure that what he said was more understandable then what Idasha had tried to say. As a precaution he rolled the woman off of him in the opposite direction than Idasha and then quickly stood up in front of Idasha, enough that he wasn't blocking the woman's view of her but also close enough that if the woman did try anything he would be close enough to react. He then helped Idasha to her feet and wiped some of the blood away from his nose. It had stopped bleeding but he looked like a bloody mess.
    "Were only passing through" Merric explained to the woman. "We mean you no harm"
    As Sumi rolled off, she immediately went onto her stomach and into a tiger-like stance with one leg extending behind her, one leg and one hand beneath, and the other raised. The savage then pushed herself up with apparent ease and grabbed her club, making nonthreating directional motions with it.
    "Follow ex-acutalee." She grunted, beginning to walk through the forest at a light pace. No soldier would dare go this far, so there wasn't much of a hurry.
