It was a very startled LeAnns turn to glare, at Alice. She had never been 'put on the spot' before. She did want Lance to stay, she liked having him around. But she didnt want to hold him back if he wanted to leave, blushing she looked at Lance "Your a big boy you make your own decisions." she said, laughing a little "Do you want to stay with us or do you want to go home?"

"That's cute. She blushed when she said it was my decision." Lance thought to himself.

"What a way to just pass the bill." Alice though, not even considering she did the same thing just before Talise did.

"Well, as Alice so brilliantly pointed out earlier, I don't have a curfew. I suppose I could stick around a bit longer. After all, I wouldn't want to think about what Alice might do to you once I'm gone."

"You're just gonna keep on insulting me, aren't you?"

"Maybe. I'm considering on seeing how much I can do it in one night. And I wouldn't consider them insults. More like jokes that vary from subtle to very bad."

"Alice wouldn't do anything bad she is very nice." Talise said kindly, though it wasn't until later that she realized that Lance was joking. Then she felt embarassed again. With a shy laugh she changed the subject "Ok then." she said cheerfully "Why dont you two something that kids do for fun around here, who knows maybe it will help me remember something about who I am."

"Well, considering how late it is getting, not much is open anymore. I suppose we could go to the end of the pier and start fishing. Or we could go mini golfing. I know a guy who does security over there. He can open it up for us. The whole place, all to ourselves. That'd be fun."

"Mini golfing..." Alice thought to herself. Her mind slowly started to wander off as she began looking up at the night sky. "I wonder when the last time we went mini golfing was. I guess it was kinda hard for us to do stuff like that when we broke up. Although that was a while ago. Our relationship has improved better than I could've imagined. You'd never known we were once dating or anything. I suppose things are better like this though."

"Hhhhhheeeeeeeeellllllllloooooo..." Lance spoke, snapping his fingers in front of her face. "Can you spare a moment back here on Earth?"

"Huh? Oh, sorry about that. Yeah... Umm... Fishing or mini golfing... Well I suppose we should go mini golfing. Fishing is nice and all, but right now doesn't seem right. Fishing is meant to just sit back and relax. And mini golfing is easier for LeAnn to learn."

LeAnn nodded, she was confused by Alice's actions. She wondered if maybe Alice and Lance knew each other better than Alice said but she ignored the thoughts. "Ok Lets go golf." she said enthusiastically "what is golfing anyway?" she said a moment later, realizing she had no idea what it was. She was getting that 'fish out of water' feeling again. like, she should know all of this stuff lost memory or not but everything was so foreign. 'maybe this is normal for amnesia patients' she thought to herself, once again shaking the feeling off.

"Basically you have a stick that is bent at the end, and you hit a ball with it. You have to get it into a hole in the fewest amount of hits." Lance explained. "Mini golf is fun. Regular golf... Well not so much. Not unless you like it. Come on, let's go."

The group walked towards the mini golf area. Which conveniently happened to be across the street that was next to the beach.

"Hey John." Lance spoke to a person near the closed entrance. "Would it be alright for me and a couple of friends to play a few rounds of mini golf?"

"And what friends would these be? Anybody who would vandalize this place?"

"Only Alice." Lance joked. "Anyways the friends would be Alice and her... Umm..." He turned to Talise.

"My cousin. She's got amnesia." Alice spoke up. "She was visiting recently and got caught up in an accident. And now she's lost her memory. So she's hanging around me until she gets it back."

John looked at the group. "Hmm... I suppose it would be alright to let you three in." He unlocked the gate. "As you know, the golf clubs and golf balls are over there." John pointed towards an area. "Be sure to put them back when you're done."

LeAnne bowed slightly to John "We apreciate your help, kind sir." she said with a graceful smile before she walked first up to the clubs and picked up three, testing their weight before walking back and handing one to Lance and the other to Alice keeping a blue one for herself. "Shall we?" she smiled.

    "Yep, let's go." Lance smiled.

"Hold up." Alice spoke, catching Lance's sleeve and stopping him from moving.

"What? I thought we all agreed to this."

"Yeah, we did. But I just wanna make something clear here. You're not gonna flirt with her, are you?" Alice motioned towards Talise.

"What do you mean? I didn't have any intention of flirting with her."

"You know what I mean. Like if she doesn't know how to play, you demonstrating by standing behind her, holding her close, and guiding her through the motions. That kind of flirting."

Lance sighed. "Doing that isn't always flirting. For some reason you women usually think it is flirting more often then we men intend it to be. But fine, how about you show her how to play?"

They walked over to the first hole. Alice set her ball down first. "Okay now, it's really simple to do." She spoke to Talise. "You stand like this, look where you want the ball to go, and hit it like this." Alice hit the ball and they watched it roll across the green, missing the hole. "And you are supposed to aim for the hole. Don't swing too hard, or you might loose the ball. But don't swing too lightly, or you won't go far enough."

Talise nodded "I think I understand..." she said, stepping forward and putting a ball down on the ground. She held the club like Alice had shown her and lightly swung the club at the ball. But something unusual happened when the ball touched the metal surface. Talice felt a strange serge of power travel down her arm and for a breif moment the metal club shone white before the ball went flying across the room. "Oh!" Talise squeaked in surprise. Realising that she must have done something wrong, "I am sorry, I am bad at this game." she said, her face going red.

Alice sighed. "And right after I just told her to not use so much strength."

Lance, on the other hand, was amazed at seeing her hit. "Are you kidding? If this were regular golf, you'd be amazing. That is some amazing power. You're a lot stronger than you look."

"Whatever. It's your turn Lance." Alice pushed him towards the starting spot. "He's kidding, right? Surely he would be aware something isn't right here. It didn't look like she used any force at all. But the ball flew like a professional baseball player threw it. Maybe she's some secret government cyborg that escaped from a secret facility. That'd be cool, although maybe a little too fictional."

Lance hit his golf ball. The ball rolled along the green, barely missing the hole. It bumped into the wall behind the hole, ultimately stopping right next to the hole. "You're up Alice."

Alice calmly walked over and hit her ball, causing it to go into the hole. "Looks like I'm winning."

LeAnn/Talise clapped slightly. "Looks like you are." she said cheerfully.

"I hope you two will pardon me for a moment. I should retrieve that ball. I wouldn't want to get your friend in trouble after he so kindly let us in here." she said. She politely did a tiny bow to both of her new friends and then took off to locate the ball that she had rocketed across the room. But she was more interested in seeing what she had done to it. She felt a strange shock when she touched the ball with the intent of hitting it... it was like some instinct took over that she didnt have much control over. But then why didnt Lance or Alice seem to have problems keeping it under control?

As she walked she clasped iner hands together, for a breif moment when her fingers were a short distance apart she could have sworn she saw a spark travel between her hands and so she quickly thrust them back apart again. What was that.... she frowned And why does it feel more normal to me than this whole walking thing... she thought, looking down at her two new clumsy people feet with annoyance.

"Okay, seriously?" Alice quietly spoke to Lance when Talise was out of earshot. "Are you seriously going to ignore that? What she did isn't even physically possible."

"No, I'm not ignoring it. That was actually really cool. Yes, I wanna know how she pulled that off. Especially considering that, because of that hit, she may be some secret government robot or an alien or something."

"Can you say anything more ridiculous?"

"Sure. And yes, what I said sounds absurd. But can you think of any other explanation? You just said, after all, that what she did isn't physically possible. I'm not complaining though. I think it's really cool she did that."

Alice calmed down a bit. "I suppose it was. But when you don't show any surprise from something like that, I felt something was wrong with your head."

Talise was a little freaked out. She wasn't sure if she was more freaked out that these weird things were suddenly happening to her or the fact that it felt completely normal to her. She shook her head 'Ok think normal kid thoughts LeAnne...' she thought to herself as she got farther off into the distance of the mini golfing area. "Wow how far did I hit that ball." she muttered to herself, surprised when she ended up walking a lot farther than she had originally intended and then rounding a corner. Finally, she saw the little golf ball a few steps away just out of view of Lance and Alice. As she walked forward to pick it up, she suddenly felt on edge. Like, she was being watched. She tried to ignore the feeling as she knelt down to pick up her runaway golf ball but learned that was a mistake when as soon as her fingers touched the surface something darted from the shadows right in front of her. She opened her mouth to scream but whatever it was that jumped out was faster than her reaction. She felt something cold and wet press against her mouth and pull her back from behind. "Dont scream." an eerie voice demanded her very close to her ear. The voice gave her goosebumps. It was a female voice... and she recognised it. Like she was remembering something from a dream... or a nightmare.
    "And dont run."
At her mysterious attacker's demands, Talise felt herself go rigid, motionless and felt a numb feeling in her throat. Somehow, her attacker had managed to force her to do as she said. Talise bit her lip as her attacker let go and for a moment there was complete silence. Talise was beginning to think that it had just left. But then the voice spoke up again "So princess how was your first day in the world above?" that voice she already hated rasped fromsome direction behind her. "Did you have fun? It is such a scary place is it not? Cars and strange animals and this gravity can be so dreary."
Talise tried to turn her head to look behind her and a hand pushed her head back forward "You dont want to do that."
yes I do... Talise thought to herself, a little annoyed, but she did as she was told.
She tried to speak but when she tried she ended up coughing instead, feeling like she was choking she stopped trying.
"I know this world is scary, its weird, and you dont understand what is happening to you. Its only going to get stranger from here. You will be betrayed by a friend, someone will break your heart, and you will find yourself in grave danger. I can help you. I can let you out of our deal. You would have to pay a small price of course. The one that you promised me should you fail your mission."
Talise wasn't sure what the scary intruder was talking about but something about that suggestion made Talise angry. She shook her head.
"Whats that, Talise?" the woman sounded slightly angered. "I cant hear you. All you need is to tell me and I'll get you out of this. You poor darling."
"NO!" Talise yelled, overcomming the witch's spell with another odd surge of power that shot through her body. As soon as she was free of the spell, her knees buckled and she nearly fell over but the odd feeling she had was gone. Whatever or whoever that thing was that attacked her had left when she broke free. Talise stumbled against the wall behind her, feeling very angry and panicked and still scared from what she had just experienced. She was breathing heavy, trying to get control of herself and stop herself from crying. What was that thing?... what was she talking about....? Talise... is that my name?

"I wonder what is taking her so long." Lance muttered. "I should probably go help her." He started to walk off. Alice quickly grabbed his sleeve.

"And you think I'm gonna let you go off somewhere with her alone to do some unmentionable things?"

"You are surprisingly protective of her. You know I wouldn't do things like that though."

"I know." Alice smiled. "I'm just messing with you. Hurry up and go and find her. Take too long and it'll be tomorrow before we're all done with this first hole."

"Yeah yeah." Lance muttered as he walked away again, searching for Talise. "Hey, where'd you go?" He asked out loud, figuring Talise could hear him from there.

Why cant I remember!? Talise thought to herself. She took another shaking breath, trying to get control of herself. She wasn't use to this body or the emotions that came with it. It was hard to control them. She felt like crying or screaming. The fact that her face was wet freaked her out anymore. She reached up and wiped the tear away Why am I leaking!? she thought to herself, now freaked out and very annoyed. She was already trying to wipe the accursed salt water from her face when she heard Lance not far away from her. "I'm right here." she called back, remembering the golf ball that was still clutched tightly in her hand. She walked back around the corner and almost ran headlong into Lance. "Found it." she said, overdoing the cheerfullness because she was trying not to sound sad. "Sorry for taking so long. It... rolled farther than I thought."

"I can see that." Lance replied, looking into her eyes. "Why are they red like that? Was she crying just now? Why would she? Admittedly I don't think that being unable to remember anything would be a reason for tears. After all, can you be sad at not remembering anything if you don't know if your past was good or bad?"

"Anyways, we should get back. It's your turn to putt again."

Talise nodded "Ok." she smiled and took the lead as the two of them walked back to Alice. She smiled to Alice "I apologise. It must have rolled downhill once it landed because it went farther than I had expected..." she said with a nervous laugh.
Setting down the ball once again where she had it at first she looked at the club and then got set to hit it again. Please in the name of Neptune do not zap it again.... she kept thinking. She was a little bit more hesitant this time as she lightly tapped the ball. This time, there was no crazy feeling no eruption of power. The ball clinked lightly against the metal and rolled a little too slowly but steadily toward the hole. It fell into the hole just on top of Alice's.

"Good job." Alice smiled. "Looks like we're tied."

"You know you're only tied because her first hit was a screw up. Technically she made a hole in one." Lance spoke as he tapped his golf ball into the hole.

"Technicality nothing. According to the rules, that was two hits. Therefore, we're all tied." Alice glared at him as everybody grabbed their golf balls. "Onwards to the next hole."

This next hole was different from the previous one, naturally. Instead of a straight shot to the hole, the track made a 45 degree angle to the right, and then after five or so feet it made a similar turn to the left. Alice sighed. "Looks like I might have to put a little extra power into this one." She hit the golf ball at an angle to the left. It rolled until it bumped into the wall, continued to travel along the track, and then stopped at the final curve.

Talise watched the ball roll over the obstacle and it looked strangely similar to something else that she couldn't put a finger on at first but then it did. Ripples in water. No, the ground wasn't moving and no it wasn't carrying the ball exactly but the way it directed the ball based on the angles and the slope of the ground. This game was little more than knowing the right velocity to hit the ball.

With that in mind, Talise placed her ball down on the ground and tapped it, once agian trying to keep control of whatever it was that spazzed out her ball last time, but trying to use a little bit more power than she had at first. She did end up overdoing the speed from what she had hoped once again but not near as drastically this time. It sped down the track and changed directions when it bumped into the wall. As her ball got into the last curve it ran straight into Alice's. Both balls fell into the hole one on top of the other.

Talise frowned, not sure if it was a good or bad thing she just did and also knowing that that probably wasn't normal once again. Deciding to make the most of the situation she giggled "Look alice you got two holes in one!" she teased.

"Awesome. Thanks for the help." Alice smiled as she jumped into a hug with Talise.

Lance just stared at the hole. "That's just... Not fair. I can't get a hole in one on this hole. Now I'm gonna be loosing."

"Suck it up and hit the ball."

"That's still... Just not fair." Lance sighed as he placed down his golf ball. "Well, this is probably gonna be my stupidest idea ever, but let's give it a shot." Lance positioned himself so the hole was in a straight line in front of him. Unfortunately, the path to the hole was blocked by the small walls, so Lance was clearly not facing the proper direction. He swung his putter at the golf ball. He hit it in such a way that the golf ball went off of the ground, flew over all the obstacles, and landed very close to the hole.

"Wow. All that effort and you still didn't sink it in with your first hit like we did." Alice laughed.

"You didn't sink it in either Alice. She did all the work." Lance pointed at Talise. He walked over to where his golf ball was and gently tapped it into the hole. "Next hole."

The group walked towards the next one. This was simple enough, except for the windmill that was spinning around and getting in the way of the path the golf ball was supposed to take. "Well Alice, let's see you get a hole in one with this track."

"I can do that. Easily." Alice boasted as she got ready to hit. She swung at the golf ball and the group watched it roll... Only to be deflected by the windmill.
