Halloween Bash 1st Round Match - GrandShadow vs summonerBWM

Discussion in 'Archive' started by GrandShadow, Oct 11, 2010.

  1. GrandShadow

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

Marko flared his wings to steady himself as he watch her illusion take effect. "Hiding behind your tricks again? How pitiful, and futile. My blood sight can see through you illusions to you. You cannot hide from my attacks!" Marko said as he activated his sight and saw that she was still right where she was when she activated her spell. "Hmph, time to end this." Marko gasped as he drew out more of his own blood to make a second spear. He knew he had to feast again, so he made it a personal goal to drain FeLay of her blood after killing her.

Marko used his strength to throw one spear at Felay's head at top speed before he rushed in and tried to slash herin half with the other.

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

Gramn started to close her eyes as she limbered with glee; she tilted her head to the right all the way to dodge the spear that was thrown as if it was nothing. She then opened her eyes and her whole body became Tyrian purple and her dress became claret. The mist started to go away and she revealed that she had a lot of energy beams already prepared.

"Your timing is lacking. Your violent life is nothing more but an aberration. SUCCUMB TO A WOMAN'S TOUCH ONCE MORE!!" Gramn started to take in all of the energy beams and created a large ball in her hands. She then shot it towards Marko as he gotten closer; It was a powerful, large beam of energy and the attack hit him directly. She giggled as the illusion went away and the island that was behind Marko actually turned out to be the stained glass. "To act arrogant and let your stress overtake you costed you your life!" She then took her position and took her victory stance as she watched Marko flying. " Beauty is to the soul but ugliness is from the tainted."

Alright, time for me to get my judging pants on... (WARNING: I might not be able to get to all of my points, and will hit on the biggest issues I see).

@GrandShadow - All i really have to hit on with you here is a bit of mechanical issue. Particularly, I didn't quite see, early on the battle, how a blade forged of blood was able disperse a wall of energy. A minor thought in the long run, but still, some food for thought. And again, for future battles, make sure that you have all techniques you wish to use already defined prior to the battle, so you don't have to pull things from nowhere.

@Summoner - I'll have to say this: I'm seeing some definite improvement in your writing, and a bit in your RPing. Don't get me wrong, you've still got a ways to go, but it seems like you're getting there. However, I do feel that you've taken to a rather overbearing level of "rinse, wash, repeat" with your strategy. A lot of teleporting to new floors, summoning mist+illusion, and using an attack. It just seemed like you went very far out of your way to avoid taking much damage. The teleporting is something to cut back on, since it gets to be a rather cheap maneuver when used repetitively.

As for you're mist, you stated in Gramn's profile that it "has a longer time in spell casting." This would appear to mean that it would take time to summon said mist, yet throughout the battle, you seemed to have had it summoned and covering an area within a relatively short amount of time. I'd suggest, if you want to simulate a longer casting time for a spell, separate the spell into two posts (one being before your opponent's next move. and another after they've made it).

Lastly, there were two obvious situations in which you powerplayed (in auto hitting form). This brings me to the final post. Despite what I said regarding your improvements, I still have to wonder exactly what you were thinking. Yes, I can see how the attack would be extremely difficult to evade. BUT, it doesn't change the fact that within that post, you both forced the hit on GS' character, and ultimately assumed your own victory... which is, in the big picture, unprofessional of an RPer.

The Judgment - Given the above analysis of the battle, I will have to give this battle to GrandShadow, not because his character was a clear cut victor, but because they, as an RPer, comes off as a stronger customer. It is, in this case, a matter to sticking better to the basics of RPing, having a firmer grasp on battling, and being more ready to take hits and take risks.
