    Cherry Blossom-Autumn Maple Haiku

    8 September 2004

    Bright,—Scripted Phrases,—
    ¿Wither go they tomorrow?
    Dark,—Wily Verses.

(¿Is there a season for Spring and Winter to meet that's
    not storm-ridden? ¿Does youth's innocence inevitably transform
to ancient cynicism?¿How can youth's idealism be retained? Bright
Spring surely moves through Summer and Fall to Dark Winter—
    the seasons roll on irregardless of man's age. Ying-Yang;
male-female; light-dark, etcetera, dualisms wrapped up in circles.
¿When pruning youth's exuberance, how to do it to not leave a
    barren aged stump?)

    Cat eyes look askance,—
    Seeing through thick dark night's fog . . .
    Egypt's prophecy.

    Moments's confusion,—
    Wandering dazed life's mazes,
    Yellow eyes lead home.

    Felines never tamed,
    Yet still recognize a home,
