Will stopped the lady that was taking Keneth. "If he goes, I go as well. I am his second in command and I would like to sr\tay with my commanding officer." He said, taking his hand off the lady. "I'm sorry..." He said to her, hios head falling. "I just feel as if this whole war is on my head because of my little vendetta..." He explained, looking into her face. "I truly wish to be executed..." He said

"But you won't be. We all learn different lessons, and you are no different from any other. Stay with the men Will. They need someone to help them through this. I will return as soon as i can. Now, let's go... er, what was your name?" He asked the Sidhe woman he was following.

"Your men would've lost anyways." The Sidhe remarked, not facing Will. "Had we gone into retreat, there were many trees that were willing to uproot themselves to collapse upon your men. Anyways, my name is Aerie - you may as well remember it now, because we may get stuck traveling together, depending upon what Miss Reena chooses to do with you."

"I am honored Aerie. Please, lead me on to Reena. I have a feeling we have much to talk about." He hadn't mentioned this to Will, but he had noticed a look in Reena's eye that spoke true to his own feelings. The looks said, she was tired of war. Truth be told, Keneth felt the same. It was time for their lands to know peace once more. If only he lived long enough to make it happen.

Will nodded. "I shall see you soon, my friend. As for you, my dear Aerie, I am sorry for my rashness. I just want... you know, never mind that thought." He said, starting for his tent. He entered it slowly, seeing his cloak folded at the edge of his bed, his gauntlets lying on top of it. "At least I shall be comfortable in my own clothes." He said, sliding his gauntlets on. He then lifted his cloak and buttoned it. He finally decided to go and see the men. He strode into their tent and smiled. "My friends, how are you?" He asked.
    >Zer, can you control them?<

    >Wish granted<
"Sore, tired, and angry at the stupid council for ordering us on this stupid mission." One of them growled. Another admonished him saying, "Hey, at least you are alive."
"How long? How long until we join them?" The first replied jerking a thumb in the direction of the mass graves. "I wouldn't be surprised if these stupid tree huggers kill us in our sleep."
One of the others, and a large man at 6' 5'' named Maxwell said, "The Sidhe are many things, and Honorable is among them. Now, do i have to put you to sleep myself? Or will you shut up and stop acting like a child. You disgrace us, and our fallen comrades Reen." He growled in a deep voice, cracking his knuckles to emphasize just what kind of sleep he had in mind.
Reen almost challenged him, then realized a very crucial fact. While he was a good warrior, and by no means short, Maxwell had been know to club enemies to death using the dead bodies of enemy soldiers. He had once lifted a four hundred pound tree up, and thrown it across a river so they could all cross. He had repeated the process five times to make a good bridge. Also, and this was crucial, given his strength he could probably remove Reen's head without a sword and use it for a cup, if he didn't feel like crushing his skull with his bare hands. "No, that won't be necassary." He said in a voice that said, "I'm harmless, and little. Please don't kill me."
"Glad that was understood." Maxwell said, before returning to making stew. He had had some luck with bringing down a deer, and was making a quick venison stew. The Sidhe's food was probably fine, but he enjoyed his own cooking better.

    >The characters mentioned here will probably not be mentioned again. This is here at Curtis's request, and for some humor.<

Will looked at them all. "Just stop fighting! Your are what's left of your battalion and you destroy their memory my bickering mindlessly!" He roared, kicking the air. "Now I, as your current commanding officer, demand that you give our current host the utmost respect for sparing our lives!" He barked. "That's an order!" He finished harshly, storming from the tent.

Reena was sitting on her bed roll near the back of her tent. Her armor and weapons were set towards the front, out of the way, and now she was clad in a comfortable forest green sleeveless shirt that hung down to her knees and were split halfway up the sides, tied around the waist with a simple brown sash, along with brown pants and her soft leather boots. She sat chewing slowly on some bread and cheese that she gathered herself for dinner. She also brought a bowl of the thick hearty stew with her, but had lost interest in it. Reena's ears perked up when she heard Aerie's voice along with the two other men from earlier. She swallowed her bite and waited for a moment, hearing footsteps coming towards her tent. The man named Keneth stepped in and she guestured for him to sit down across from her.

Keneth walked in, and saw the woman from earlier sitting on the floor of her tent. She looked at him, and motioned at the floor. Keneth sat slowly, savoring the moment of finally getting off his feet, the first time all day. "You have no idea how bad i feel from riding a horse for a straight week, and then watching my men massacred on the battle field." He grunted. "What would you have done with us? We are your prisoners, but i doubt that we can travel as quickly as yourselves in these forests. "

Reena sighed and her shoulders slumped. She had lost her appetite completely and set her bread and cheese aside. She suddenly felt very exhuasted.
"I appologize for what we had to do today, if it was my choice this would have never happened. As for wat to do with you and your remaining men, i am not completely sure myself." She paused and looked up at the man. "I know you probably think that i'm silly for not thinking things through, but i knew that i did not want to killl you all completely. I'm glad you surrendered so the remaining men might have a chance to live on." She picked idly for a moment at the top of her boot and said, "I have this...seemingly silly, is what Aerie might say, notion that if i brought you and your men to the capital, just maybe we could, somehow, convince the council to end this war, set up a meeting between the Kings of the two races and end this once and for all..." Reena shook her head and smiled half-heartedly at the man and said, "I'm sorry, i've seemed to have lost myself, telling you my personal wishes that might not come true.."

"Think nothing of it." Keneth said. "But I'm afraid that I and you alone won't be able to end this war. These days, all the ruling council talks about is expansion. They want to turn this beautiful forest into prairie again. The only way to stop them, is for them to be over thrown. We have a resistance group who are tired of this war. I to wish to join them now. I'm tired of killing, tired of destroying. I'm tired of this damn war." He ended angrily. "All I want now, is to go back to my farm and live out the rest of my days in peace. Now I can't even have that much. They say I'm to valuable, and they can't afford for me to retire. Well, now I'm captured." He looked back up after a second and smiled. "Sorry, now I'm the one unburdening himself to someone he hardly knows."

Reena raised a hand and brushed the appology away. "At least we both have something in common, a wish for this war to end and to return to our peaceful lives. I myself have a garden of my own at home," she said with a smile, but it soon faded. "And you're right about just the two of us being able to stop this war. There are even men and women of my own people that wish this war to stop and are thinking of taking it to the council. I myself have tried alone to persuade them, since one of the council members is my uncle. But he is not easily persuaded." Reena pulled her knees up and wrapped her arms around them. "I'm afraid i'm not sure what to do with you and your men, taking you to the capital might ensure your death, but letting you go will not be very likely either." Reena sat quietly for a moment then glanced at the stew. She picked it up and offered it to the man, "I believe you're hungry after all of today's events, and even if you're not, i still recomend you eat something."

"My thanks." Keneth replied taking it. "If neither of our councils are inclined to end war, we may have to go to the groups that will. I refer to the ones i and yourself mentioned who are anti war. All i have to do is help remove our coucil, which is no easy task. I can only assume that you must do the same, though I'm not certain what the Sidhe would do regarding these matters." Keneth spooned some stew into his mouth while he waited for a response.

Will climbed the large log that served as a flagpole. He sat at the top, letting the breeze catch his cloak and spread it out. He was tired of his troop's disrespectful attitude, even though they weren't actually his troops, they were Keneth's. "Why did Keneth let me live all those years ago?" He wondered. "I will end this war, even if it costs me my life..." He vowed, looking down at a tent with lights on below. He heard Keneth's voice faintly float up to him. "I wonder what they are speaking of." He muttered, silently sliding down the pole and crouching near the edge of the tent.

Reena looked to the side in thought. "My people," she said after a moment, "Tend to understand, most of the time, our independent wishes. And i say most of the time because the council still takes some action against the rebels, occasionaly taking lives." Reena shook her head sadly. "We may not lose as many lives as would your race when dealing with the outbursts, but they are still lives none-the-less. It would be hard to over-throw the council, but if we have enough people to make a clear enough statement to all the Sidhe, then maybe we have a chance."

"So we are agreed? If we try this, we will be branded as traitors to our peoples. It won't be safe anywhere as far as I know." Keneth heard a thump from outside, no doubt Will. After all our practice fights together, he still thinks he can get the drop on me. Deciding to just let him be, since he could trust Will not to blab to everyone he met.

Reena looked down at the ground, thinking over the fact that she would turn against her people if she agreed, and after she had been working so long to protect them and in her mind believing she was doing something right. Now that she had spoken to someone who shared her veiws so openly, she was confident to admit to herself that what she wanted, and believed was right, was to remove the council in one way or another so then there would be the stronger possibility of ending the war. "Yes," she said lifting her head. "I belive we are agreed. My family will be disheartened by my choice, but i hope they will come to realize that this is my choice and belief as to what is right," she said confidently, a small smile lighting her face.

Keneth smiled back. "It won't be so terrible. My own men pledged their oath of fealty to me, not the council. They are obligated to follow me into this, or betray their Knightly vows to me. I would hope your people would do the same, and if you come from a prominent family, it will be that easier to call for a new council. The trick will be me calling for a new council. I may be a decorated officer, but i am also a farmer. I have no political sway, or we wouldn't be talking right now."

"Yes, my family is respected to an extent, my uncle sometimes comes to my family, mosty to my father, to discuss some issues in the council even though none of my family members are in it. I know a few people who have relatives or husband and wives in the council, and some share the wish to end the war and have stated it to them. I also have done that with my uncle, but he seems to see that this war is necissary," Reena said with a frown. "And i assume that not all of your men would be willing to stay with you if we do go and find the anti-war groups. How will you take care of that? I will also face the same problem with my warriors, so we must come up with a way to sift the anti-war from those who wish it to continue," Reena offered, scooting a little closer so as to speak in lower tones. She liked this human's way of thinking, which was similar to her own.

Keneth had really only thought of one alternative, which was to kill the un loyal members of his army. Still, if there was a way to let them go home, but slow them enough so that they wouldn't be able to inform the councils right away, that would be a lot better. After some more thought, he said, "If we feed everyone false information about were we are headed, while sifting through the loyal and unloyal members of our army's, we can slow or stop any pursuit during out journey to the anti war movements."
