Will let the swords go, the blades sinking into the dirt, blood dripping from the blade and hilt. "This battle does not scare me Keneth, it is the future battle within my mind that I fear..." He said to his friend, dropping to his knees and puutting his arms behind his back, slamming his two daggers into the dirt between his swords.

"Peace friend. I fear the coming battle as well, but i feel we can trust their leader. The Sidhe as a whole are honorable. Most are unlike those raiders i put to the sword long ago." With that, Keneth sat on the ground, holding his shield up to block any arrows that came their way.

Another sharp whistle brought the archers to a hold, the air suddenly became quiet. Reena jumped out of her tree with her bow nocked with an arrow, but pointed at the ground. The rest of the archers followed suit and the mages began to smooth the ground and send the roots back into the ground, besides for the ones begining to wrap around the enemies legs to make sure they wouldn't try anything. Reena walked up to the man who named himself Keneth and looked him in the eye. "You were smart to surrender before more men died, but stupid to come here in the first place to test our strength on our land." Reena backed up and signalled to the warriors to bind the enemy. "We'll take them back as prisoners to the capital, but first let us return to camp and burry our dead."

"I ask that you allow us to do the same, outside of your forests. I realize that you wouldn't want us to defile them. Post as many guards on us as you wish, we won't run." Keneth looked around, angry at himself. Of the seventy men that had come, only fifteen or so remained. All but six horses were dead or dieing. His own steed had fallen, and was kicking feebily. Not even magic could save it. "You did well my friend. I am sorry it had to be this way." He whispered to his horse, then swiftly grabbed his sword and stabbed it's heart. It kicked twice more, then stopped moving. Keneth, remembering that he could be shot if he made any false moves while holding a weapon, quickly wiped it clean on the ground and let it fall again.

Will lifted his daggers, wiping them clean and sliding them in his sheaths on his belt. He then lifted one of his swords, pulling a cleaning cloth out and wiping the weapon down very carefully. When he finished he slid it into it's sheath and started on the other. He finished that one then put it in his sheath. He then started to undo his gear, bundling his chain mail tunic, sword and daggers into his cloak and tossing it at the girl's feet. He saw Keneth's move and didn't say a word, just wistled to make his horse come to him. He pulled his bow and quiver off the saddle and put it on top of his cloak. He then whistled to his horse again, the horse clopping back to their camp.

Aerie walked ahead of the mages and smoothed out the entire clearing all at once - but such an act was only moderately difficult for a mage of her caliber.

"M'lady, what do we do with the rest of their troops? You know the Lords would not let some human force live, and slavery is out of the question." She asked, cleaning off one of her blades. It had gotten stained when one soldier considered himself lucky to be fighting near the mages.

Reena sighed and shook her head. "I'm not absolutely certain yet, but i know we can't let them out of our sight right now." She turned back to Keneth watching sadly as he ended his horse's pain. "You may burry your dead outside of the forest, but any attempt to escape would be a mistake." She assigned guards to the remaining enemy and accompanied them as they allowed them to begin the process of collecting their dead.

Will left his gear at the Sidhe girl's feet, the one that was commanding Keneth to not try to escape. He started to stand, moving slowly so he wasn't attracting attention of the archers that still had arrows notched. He stood next to Keneth until his friend stood. "Shall we go my friend?" He asked Keneth.

"go where? We're being watched every were we go. I wish we could give these men a proper burial at home. The plains will have to be their final resting place." With that, he started gather dead men and placing them on the live horses to be brought back outside. Keneth suddenly remembered something. "Will." He whispered. "What happened to the men i ordered left behind? Did they come with you to this slaughter?"

Will shook his head. "No, they feared what I had become and if I would strike at them they feared me..." He groaned, dropping to his knees. "I am an animal, a murderer... a bloodthirsty beast." He moaned, head in his hands. He felt bad that he let his past, his hatred take him over. He let the darkness enter him and lost his way. "God save my soul..." He breathed.

"Will, this isn't your fault. I should have made you stay behind. I knew how personal this all was to you. Now you see, revenge is no where near as glorious as what it seems. Hopefully the men back at camp will have fled by now." Keneth said, putting a hand on Will's shoulder. "Come, we have dead to bury. Let us weep later for them. For now, our duty to our comrades calls." Keneth helped Will to his feet.

Reena watched as the man named Keneth comforted the young man who realized what slaughter he had wrought. She looked down with a saddened heart, beginning to wish that other humans would be like these two men and see that slaughter was not necissary. Then she stooped and picked up the young man's armor that he placed in front of her, holding it in her arms. Then she turned to Aerie saying with a husky voice, "Will you stay with the guards and watch over the humans? I'm heading back to camp to get someone to start making some food and get some rest myself."

Will stood, looking into Reena's eyes. He noticed she was very beautiful, even by Sidhe standards. "I am truly sorry for what I have done to your people m'lady... I deserve to be executed. We shall return by dusk." He said, returning to Keneth. "Let's go, before I cause more destruction..." He strode down the path, Sidhe warriors staring at him in disbelief of his apology.

Keneth smiled at their faces. Will may be fierce, but he's a good man. I couldn't be more proud. "Right. Lets get going." With that, he began gathering bodies and doing his best to haul them out of the forests. "These men deserve a weeks worth of funeral games. It's to bad they have to be buried far from home, and in such a ramshackle way to."

The second Will had left the woods he started on graves, making sure to do his best on them. In almost an hour he had ten 6 foot deep graves. Will hauled bodies into each grave and started on filling them. He finished and wiped his brow. He had just buried six men per grave, stripping them of their gear. He left a mark on each grave by sticking the swords in, crossing in an intricate manner. As the sun started to all the shadow looked just like the royal emblem. He then hung a helmet on each sword. He stepped back and admire his work.

Keneth had also buried his men, and was looking at the sun, starting to set. His remaining soldiers had been of great help. They had proven to be of great worth, but now they were prisoners. This didn't seem to bother them, as they were talking and laughing about other times. Keneth wanted to order them home, but that would cost them their lives. "Men, let us all take a moment and say a silent prayer for our brothers. They were good men. I wish i could have served them better." With that, he had everyone bow their heads in prayer.

Will bowed his head and dropped to his knees, knowing their deaths were his fault. He felt sorry, felt like this whole war was on his shoulders. When they finished he stayed on the ground for a few seconds then stood. "We must go back, let us move forward." He said, starting towards the forest. When he reached it he looked at Keneth and said. "Well then, shall we go?"

Aerie was leaning against the tree, watching the two leaders and the remaining enemy soldiers bury the dead, tossing a rock up and down in her hand as she waited. It almost brought a tear to her eye to see that some humans weren't the demons she was raised to believe. The Sidhe saw that the two leaders were coming back and heard Will's question.

"I'd assume that Miss Reena would like to talk to. . . What's your name again?" She addressed the older of the two.

"Keneth. I'm a Captain in the Royal army of the west. I lead, er, led a team of calvary warriors." Keneth sighed. It was difficult to believe that in a matter of a half hour, his greatest horsemen had gone from seventy to seven. The Sidhe were certainly not to be underestimated. "I just wish this damn war was over." He growled. "And I think our council knew of my ideals. This mission was stupid, and suicidal." He looked back up at the Sidhe who had addressed him. "I would like to talk to your leader. Please take me to her."

"Very well. As for you-" She began, turning to address the younger of the two, "-Your tent is close to the center of the camp. Our various sentries will point the way if you get lost. Now then, Sir Keneth, follow me."

Aerie began to lead the man through the forest and straight into the heart of the encampment, one arm on a sword at all times. Just because he seemed nice didn't mean that he couldn't be dangerous.
