"First off, who all say the battle that just took place?" Koga asked the group as his eyes swept over them. He doubted that anyone other than the steamgunner say and or participated, but it didn't hurt to ask.

After they had scared a few kids after accidently believing they knew about epitaphs, Tag and Kalenz were on their way to the nearest Chaos Gate. "Ok, so i made a mistake." Kalenz was saying as they went along. "A potentially BIG mistake, sir." "Ya ya." They transported into the noob area, to amuse themselves with watching noobies bash on each other. What they saw was a bunch of 20's picking on a lvl 1 girl. Kalenz and Tag were kind of pissed about this. "Oi, what do you guys think your doing?" They turned, showing off a bunch of items they could not possibly have gotten at their level. "Hackers." Tag whispered in Kalenz's ear. "Yah i know that. Hey you guys! You are under arrest for violating the User Agreement, see the section on hacking. It is our duty as admins for CC Corp to delete your accounts effective immediatly." "Just you try it!." They attack.

 

Zaria looked back to Koga with a confused look. "So your saying that Magus is an Epitaph so that makes me an Epitaph user or something?". He walked in a circle and scratched his head in frustration. "So these Epitaphs are obviously a part of something bigger then what I can comprehend at the moment."

 

"It didn't take very long to wipe the floor with those losers." Tag comments brightly. They were now walking through Mac Anu again. "Yeah. Lets head back, i need to file a report." They return the to Admins zone, and Tag immediatly puts a call through to CC Corp. "There waiting for you." "Thanks Tag, were would i be without you?" Tag smiles replying, "Out of the job."

 

----------------------------Zeph--------------------------
Zeph brooded while Koga kept talking to the adept rogue and the steam gunner. It was annoying. They were supposed to come here and train Semio so that they could have fun! Irritably Zeph's fingers began drumming against his arms after they folded together at his chest. It wasn't fair that Koga had choosen this place because he had admin duty.
"I say nothing happened because offically it didn't. Now what I want you two to do is come with me to some place we can speak in private. I've sent you both a PM including a @home name and password. It's in Mac Anu." Koga spoke in that always confident voice Zeph was used to hearing. The admin had told Zeph that 'The World' was a magnificent place. Meant to be enjoyed by everyone in their own way. Well he wanted to have fun with his friends! Suddenly it hit him.
"W-Wait! You aren't saying you're letting them join the Rebirths are you?" Zeph demanded, "It's for newbies and original memebers!" It was hard to keep the heat from his voice, but there was no use in hiding it. Koga turned around and regarded him with unjudging eyes. Nothing on his face gave away what he was thinking or any emotion.
"I run two guilds Zeph. One for the new players, and the other is for special administrator jobs. I'm taking them back to that one." Koga stated cooly. Zeph gritted his teeth.
"What about me and Semio?" His anger was boiling now. It wasn't fair! "You choose this place because you had work, and yet you said you were going to help us train! You lied!" His feet were apart now, and his head hung low. Eyes closed to hold back the tears that would ruin the screen. "YOU LIED!" With that Zeph turned and ran as fast as he could. He could hear Semio and Koga call after him, but it only sounded like Semio was following after. His voice didn't fade.

 

After entering Mac Anu, Aku wandered around for a bit, letting himself get the hang of the game. It seemed like even here people had some clique they belonged to. Some people traveled in a small group either walking towards the chaos gate or towards the shops. Few people ran passed him at such a quick pace, that he wouldn't have been able to see them had he not been paying attention.
The entire place seemed to be pathetic and if he could drag his feet, he would. After grabbing a couple of items from the general store he headed back to the chaos gate and and choose words at random. The area level was five. A decently higher level than he at present, but soon -very soon- he'd be level five taking on tens. A smile crept over his face.
Entering the world he searched around quickly for any near-by enemies and after a moment or two of fighting, he replenished his health and looked for another. Slowly he made his way towards the dungen area. The thought of new items, plus the thrill of fighting drove him onwards. Today he was gunna do what he loved best in games. Shed some blood.

 

Tag was walking around Mac Anu again, mumbling to himself. "First he tells me to go and fix that damn bulletin again. Then he wants me to get input on his latest skeems from other players. And NOW he wants me to track down members of that damned black hand group. Whats next?! A bunch of flowers for his office?" *Pong* Tag stops. Then he opens his pm. "Oh, and bring some flowers for my office plz. Kalenz." Tag stared at it for a minute. Then he shouted, disturbing a few noobs near by. Tag stomps off, heading for the guild house for the Rebirths.

 

Zaria watched as Zeph ran away and groaned "What a whiner...." He turned around and started walking for a gate to get out of this area, then turned around and looked back at Koga. "I'll be waiting at your guild home." He gated out of the area and returned to Mac Anu and checked his PM's and found the guild and password and went to the @Home and entered.

 

---------------------KOGA----------------------------
"Please head over there as soon as possible. I will catch up to you later." Koga replied as he started walking off in the direction Zeph and Semio had headed off in. He let out a soft sigh. Zeph... My friend I did not mean to be cruel in any way. It was his thoughts, not a PM. He was tempted to send one, but instead he decided on asking Semio to keep a tab on Zeph's location so he could catch up. It didn't take long for Semio to reply back agreeing. With that Koga set out at a run.

Eric's character Zeph had some pretty decent speed to him. He wasn't far off when Koga sent him a PM asking him to keep tailing after Eric. Quickly replying with a "Sure". With Semio holding out his weapon, Alastor did the only thing he could think of to make Eric stop. He attacked him. Thrusting out his pole arm Semio landed a hit, causing Zeph to fly into a blue fight barrier. Sending another PM to Koga saying he was going to hold off Zeph in a fight, he got ready. His friend was going to slaughter him.

Watching a newb adept rogue gate out, Loki decided to have some fun following after the new player and, maybe, give him some "new" toys to play with. Though, by pulling the strings it wouldn't be nice playing. He hacked the chaos gate and figured out where he had gated to. He followed easily.


---------------------ZEPH------------------------
Zeph got up off the ground and looked back at Semio. Why would his friend attack him? Anger began bubbling inside of him again. No. He wasn't a friend. He was just another lier. Someone who had tricked him into believing that he could trust them. Reaching behind his back, a blinding light enveloped his right hand and slowly Zeph pulled out his weapon readying for a battle.

 

"At last." Tag was looking up at the guild house for the rebirths. He walked up and knocked, as that was the most polite way to go about that. The door was opened by some nooby. "What do you want?" "I need to speak to the guild leader." Tag replied politely in the face of this rather rude new player. "Well you can't!" And with that the kid slammed the door in his face. Tag paused then knocked again, pulling out his credentials. The door opened. "I said-" The kid was cut off by a CC Corp i.d. pushed in his face. "I'm not deaf. This is important business for CC Corp, and you're not going to stand in my way." With that Tag brushed past the guy and waited.

 

---------------------SEMIO---------------------
Alastor couldn't remember the last time he had seen Eric in a rage. He had always had a cool head, and he never seemed to mind what others said. Yet, here Eric was in a video game letting out all his rage. It was a miracle that he was even alive now. Some how Semio was able to keep up with Zeph just enough to take minimal damage. Whenever Zeph attacked, it seemed like for a moment time slowed. He could see the arch of Zeph's blade, and in that moment Semio deflected. That didn't mean he was entirely unharmed. There was quite a chunk of health missing, and Semio's actually LOOKED tired.
Alastor thought the programmers had done a lot to go into that detail. Pushing that thought aside, he focused on the battle. The pole arm Semio wielded wasn't great, but it was good enough for someone his level who had only started playing what seemed like moments ago. What time was it? Alastor wanted to check but he feared that if he took his eyes from the screen, he would lose a friend. "Zeph. Just calm down. There isn't any reason we should be fighting." Alastor spoke through Semio calmly. Trying to comfort his friend.
"You're just another lier. Someone who'll just use me. Someone who only cares for themselves." Zeph hissed. What was going on? Why was Eric saying these things? They knew each other since they had been in third grade! It pained Alastor to see his friend hurting so much. He wanted to help. "Just look. You attacked me while my back was turned!" Zeph shouted as he charged at Semio. "TIGER STRIKE!!" With eyes as wide as dish plates, Semio dropped so his back was on the ground. The haft of his pole arm struck Zeph across the face and sent him flying into the barrier. Purple rings flashing black appeared around Zeph, and in an instant, without thinking what he was doing, Semio charged at Zeph shouting, "RENGEKI!!" and began his barrage of hits.

 

Zaria stood in the guild checking over everything and admiring the banners and various other elements. "Wow, my first time in a guild." "they really do not slack when it comes to graphics." He searched through his inventory and ordered things.

 

Tag finally reached the leaders room. He looked to a passing guild member. He took out his badge and said, "I am Tag, And you are Zaria correct? I am an admin for CC Corp. Is the player Koga here right now? I understand he is the guild leader.

 

Zaria looked at the Admin and gave him a cold look "Show off.." he whispered. Zaria sat down and sighed "No, he is not here at the moment." Zaria pretended to look busy so the guy would leave him alone.

 

----------------KOGA---------------------
Koga quickly found where he thought Semio and Zeph were. The blue ring that kept the two separated from everything else wasn't far off from where he was running from. He prayed that he wasn't too late to stop his friend. Zeph forgive me. I did not mean for it to appear this way. Koga walked into the barrier and entered the PK ring. Inside Semio stood over Zeph's body. He was panting hard and the grip on his pole arm was so hard it caused his knuckles to go white. "Semio ... ?" Koga took a step forward with caution. How was it a level one defeated a level twelve? Perhaps he was an AIDA - PC? No. If he was then the system would have found out. Perhaps he was- An idea struck Koga and then he felt like he was punched in the gut with a lead weight.
"Semio, what happened?" Koga forced his voice to sound even as he took another step. Semio's head jerked up in surprise and then bolted down to look at his friend again. Semio started to shake his head in disbelief.
"I- I-," Semio swallowed before continuing what he was saying, "I had to fight to stop him from running, but when we fought it was like ... " his voice became softer and then dropped off. He shook his head again, "It was like my character moved on his own. Trying to dodge the attacks itself and then I just attacked back and before I knew it..." His voice trailed off again and he didn't speak again. Neither of them spoke for the longest time.
The battle barrier disappeared finally, and Koga made his way over to Zeph. When he was next to his friend he kneeled and waited to see if Zeph would regain consciousness, Semio also sat down next to Zeph. Probably for the same reason. That nagged at Koga. There were too many 'if's and 'possiblies' for his liking. It was as if he couldn't trust anyone anymore.
A soft groan came from Zeph as he slowly began to open his eyes again, "Semio.. " Those were his only words and then, he fainted again. "Zeph!" Semio cried out, "I have to go make sure he's okay!" Semio stood up and started to run for the Chaos Gate, only to be stopped when Koga called out to him. "I have to go now, Zeph doesn't live too far from me, please."
"Did you attack him, or was it your character?" Koga asked cooly. Semio seemed taken aback at the question, it wasn't surprising.
"I attacked, but... I don't know something happened that I didn't want to." He answered quickly then ran for the gate again.

 

"Oh well, i guess I'll ave to wait. Unless you happen to know were he is. That would be a great help to us. It is urgent that we speak with him." Tag smiled disarmingly. He was not about to take no for an answer, especially were work was concerned. He only hoped Kalenz was getting his job done.

Kalenz was whistling as he walked down another path. Just then he saw Koga's group. Curious as to what his comrade was up to, and why he was running, he called. "Hey Koga!" He set off to catch up. Then he saw Zeph and Semio. "What the..." He stopped. He pulled up a data screen showing all the information in The World. He focused it on the characters. Zeph was showing signs of being attacked by a AIDA. And as for Semio, "My god. KOGA STOP THAT CHARACTER! ITS INFECTED!" He pulled out his staff. "Go!" He fired a spell at Semio in the hopes that he could bring him down in one shot.
