Dissidia: Final Fantasy 2 Screens

As for the Edea/Seifer pick, I still think that Edea would make a great hero. Square Enix might give more insight about her childhood if they want. The characters in VIII had a strong connection with her because she's the only one who looked over them during the Sorceress War and cared for them. She's also more knowledgable.

As for Rinoa, she's not a close-ranged fighter. She's a far-ranged fighter who have the potential to use magic very well. Irvine not even a melee fighter. When I think melee, I think of at such a close range. Zell, Quistis and Selphie are a big no. Really don't have any connections.

 

You're really rooting for Edea to make it to the game aren't you?

Hm.. now that I think about it, they might not even classify the new characters as heroes or villains. From what we know of Kain, there may be the chance that he acts as a neutral character in the game. Or maybe even shifting from a villain to a neutral character. The same idea could be applied to Edea.

 

kain would be more switching between good and evil rather than good and neutral.He is cecil's friend,he just has more trouble with his personal darkness then Cecil did.

Depending on how they work Time into it,this may be the Kain from After years maybe even the Dark Kain. I doubt it,but it would give them a different villian if they dont want to use Zeromus.

If there are changing loyalties in game then Edea or Rinoa could also go through the same thing.I would actually like to see that be playable instead of happening in one story and that character's story taking place after those events.

 

I don't think that Rinoa's loyalty would change. As for Edea, I AM 100% OF THE WAY FOR HER!!! it would be nice to actually change up the roles of the character. I would like to see Fran going against the Judge of Wings since the two of them are Vieras though.

 

Its not so much turning as it is what happened to them in game.In VIII both Rinoa and Edea were possessed by Ultimecia.While you didnt fight Rinoa while possessed,that doesnt mean you wouldnt in Dissidia if it happens.You never fought possessed Terra in VI (You did briefly play as her),but in Dissidia you did.

 

Dissidia opens the door to add minor tweaks to a characters development so that they can interact with the other characters better and you'll receive a better story overall. If you need to fight a possessed Edea, then so be it. If you need to fight a possessed Rinoa, then so be that. Anything to make the plot better - because we all know that the plot for Dissidia was lackluster at best.

 

Would rather fight a possessed Cloud and whoop his butt for betraying his allies by giving up the Black materia. that would make me happy.

 

Which is possible.Seph did have some control over him before Aeris died.However,I believe that Aeris is already dead by the time of Dissidia,so it may not work.This is just speculation though.

 

i never really liked Crystal Chronicles, but it would be kinda cool have more ppl. So are they gonna have all the old ppl in it too or just a whole new cast with some old ones? What about the three girls from X-2 you think they get in?

 

That just gives us more proff that Kain is a badass.

Also,thats only one map,there may be more to come.Cant give a blanket statement like that.

To Answer Man,Kain is in right?That means that other new characters also have a chance.GO ahead and make your guesses,you have until they confirm everyone to place a bet,and even then wait and see if there are secret characters as well!

 

Wow... that was an awesome gameplay video. I like Kain's EX burst, but I really think they need smooth out the graphics - this is SE we're talking about.

...Why does Cloud have Seph with him?i guess it has to do with Assist,but still...kinda funny.

Gabranth is back it seems,and I guess this says all the characters from the first game will come back,atleast the ones here.

Also,Cloud in KH clothes...Sora may be in!Or its just clothes,who knows.

 

I think it's simply a costume for fanservice. I mean look at Lightning's alternate costume.. (first picture)

 

Nah. The clothes are just taken from another game to make the character have some new impact on the gamers.

 

I like Kain's EX Burst. And the assist thing looks really cool. I hope they add more stages than just Orphan's Cradle.

 

I really hope they add more stages. I think I would really love to see what they would do with the train station in FFVII from the beginning as a stage.

 

There has been interviews where some of the producers have wanted KH chars in. Some who dont as well. But as this screenshot has just popped up, this backs the producers who want KH chars in. The only barrier is whether Disney will let them.

-__- I really don't want no Kingdom Hearts characters in it. It is called Final Fantasy for a reason. it should only stay as Final Fantasy. (unless they throw in Kairi in there, I will then root for it to come into place.)
